Chef Mickey's - popular???

Chef Mickey is very popular with being a Character dining with the Fab 5.

We eat there several times each visit we go...it is our favorite!!!!

Keep calling the ADR phone line, they may eventually have some cancelations and you can book it. We even got a ressie while on our trip that was a last minute cancellation.

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention they usually open for lunch during free dining, so booking a ressie is even better chance.

I keep wanting to try there because I love the Contemporary, but I keep hearing that the food is just really sub-par - and no, I don't book any dining based on "you're there for the atmosphere". Can anyone tell me if the food is fit to eat?

BEST mashed potatoes in the world!!! I've always enjoyed the food there and the atmosphere is wonderful. The characters are quite entertaining, and you'll feel compelled to swing a napkin or two

Does the food differ from lunch to dinner? We've only ever had breakfast & dinner and was wondering if the food might be different at lunch. Thanks.

My father and I used to go there when we first arrived but eventually stopped for some reason , but we are going in September and are hopefully going to eat there when we arrive. Each time my dad and I go, I always think its funny me being 17 and surrounded by little kids each time I go, but I love it. And I agree with TheAngelForever, when my dad and I ate at the Crystal Palace, it was a major let down, there wasn't a wide variety of food and the characters didn't spend a decent amount of time with each person.

We got a lunch ADR for our arrival day. When I called on our 90 day I could not get anything until the day before we left. I was bummed because it is our first day meal. So DH called back and we got a lunch ADR.

What is on the lunch menu?

The parmesan mashed potatoes are reason alone to make the trip to Chef Mickey's! And don't miss the ice cream bar!

I'm pretty sure that lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu, and as far as character meals are concerned, this is absolutely one of the best.

a Disney trip isnt the same without having a meal at Chef Mickey's. We've been going there for years Started going when it was at Downtown Disney.

Good luck with that question. I've read tons of Chef Mickey's reviews and the reviews tend to be polarized - some people love the food, some people insist it is inedible. I've only had breakfast there and I thought it was fine. Realistically, what do you expect from a dinner buffet in WDW? I expect average food.

I agree is popular. I couldn't get in at first but then kept calling back and got in. So I would try calling myself and even when down there call and try, what I was first told by Disney rep.

I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THIS!! I just called and the CM had to put me on hold to check because she hadn't heard anything about it. I got a ressie for 12:35pm lunch. I really didn't want breakfast here so I am happy.
