Sunday 23rd April
Up at 7.30am and had the freebie brekkie at the hotel.
Got to Animal Kingdom for 9am. Huge queues to get in - there was a "talking palm tree" at the entrance (same as the bin in Epcot).
Booked lunch reservations at Rainforeset cafe for 12.45 and RAN to Expedition Everest. Got a FP and then queued for it aswell. We were kiddie swapping this ride so I queued first - 10 minutes and I was on. Great ride. Especially the backwards bit in the dark. Neil went on it and then we headed to Dinoland.
They have a bit of a funfair there and I LOVE the "roll a ball down a hole thing where the dinosaur moves depending on which hole the ball goes in" - you know what I mean?! Well, it was only me and Ellis playing so we won a very big stuffed Aligator. - yippie - how the heck do I pack that!
Our fast pass time for Everest had come back round so I headed off while Neil watched Ellis on the big climbing frame area. I was back within 10 minutes cos I got straight on and found Neil at the bottom of the frame.
"Where's Ellis?" I said.
"Dont know" he said.
"When did you last see him" I said.
"A while ago" he said.
After and evil stare off me he went off looking for him.
A minute later a Cast member and Ellis - (sobbing his heart out) found me. He'd got lost, went outside the gates of the dig area and started crying cos he couldnt find Daddy. "A man collecting rubbish found me and bought me to this lady" Ellis told me later. Obviously I beat hubby severely to an inch of his life and sent him on his way (to Everest) while I looked after Ellis PROPERLY. Several cuddles later he was happy to go back on the climbing frame.
Now - little tip - if your child doesnt want to ride a coaster get a FP with their entrance ticket anyway. That way one of you can ride it twice with their FP.
Time for a bit of retail therapy so I bought myself a nice white t-shirt with Mickey logo on the front - you'll see it soon in the photos .
Sat on a bench while Neil went to get FP's for Kilimanjari Safari. He came back and said "whats all that down your back?" - yes, a bird had confused me with a toilet and I was splattered all down my t-shirt. Thank god I'd shopped. Nipped into the loo and came out all fresh and ready to strangle the next bird who dared to poop on me!
Met a few characters - note the new "poo-less" new t-shirt!
Off to the Rainforest for lunch. I had chicken and veg stirfry with ginger sauce - delicious and spicy then (of course) had to have pudding - banana and choc cheesecake - this was AS A GOOD AS, IF NOT BETTER THAN, THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY! - I've out this in capitals - it was THAT good!!!!!!
Devoured before photo - sorry.
Off to the Lion King show - get there early or miss it! - fab as usual, then the 4pm parade
Headed home for a Bud and rest. 92 degrees today but it always seems hotter in Animal Kingdom. It was still 88 at 5pm.
We ate in the hotel restaurant tonight - we had a complimentary dinner buffet to try so...we tried it! Excellent buffet - loads of choice of starters, mains and sides hot and cold and loads of puds too - no cheescake though Had to settle for lemon meringue pie and chocolate cake.
Todays weather - Kansas had tennis ball sized hail, 50 mile an hour winds and tornado threats!
Drinks in the hotel bar and bed for some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
