I haven't been able to verify these, but on another website they posted these deskchairs at Staples on clearance. You have to go to the store, they are not available online.

I also just made a purchase at Staples.com - since we just signed up for their rewards program (remember the cheap bottled water deal???) they just sent us a $5 coupon. So I just bought a 128mb memory card for our new digital camera $19.94 (less $10 mail in rebate) - $9.94 and a small camera carry case (on belt for DH) for $8.99 - so for $28.93 - $5 coupon = $23.93 - $10 rebate I will get - I got both for $13.93 + tax!!! Remember free shipping when you are a rewards member!!!

The FREE shipping makes Staples more valuable to me, than the Office Depot that is actually a lot closer. I can order online at night, and the order will be at my doorstep in just a day or so!

I checked two Staples this afternoon with no luck. I ask about clearance chairs at the first and the salesperson mentioned that they had some last week, but no more. I didn't ask for specifics.

I too went to 2 Staples. The first store had them according to the gal who checked inventory, than, lo and behold the weren't in the stock room. The assistant manger went to look and then offered to order them on line for me. Fine I said, then he rings me up at $124.99 each, I tell him they were only 6.50 he then tells me that all the associates bought the $6.50 chairs and the rest were on hold I was livid after being given the run around by 4 or 5 different employees. Of course, no manager available to speak with me!

I'd be asking for the DM's name on that one. To even admit that all your associates bought up the chairs is one thing, but then to say that you have more in stock but that they are on hold is ridiculous. Why on earth be so stupid as to admit that???

Our Staples had sold them all. Apparently they put them outside for a sidewalk sale earlier in the week. Thanks for the post--it was worth a try. Hope someone out there gets lucky.
