Chat Rooms are Dangerous: The Girls and Nobby are Baaaaaccckkk! Update: 9/27 (PG.43)

I know that i'm gonna weigh a TON by the end of the week!! I can't wait though:goodvibes

Couple things I want to mention.... quite a few of these are 1st time dines for me:
Hollywood Brown Derby
Yak and Yeti
Beaches and Cream
Les Chefs
Yachtsman
Sanaa (obviously)
Kona
Mama Melrose
Tusker House
tea at the GF!! (edited because I forgot to add this one!)

Wow! 10 of 17 are new for me! A full half! I've never done DxDDP before, and with the kiddos, we really try hit a bunch of character meals.

Even after my November Trip (where we are eating at 6 new restaurants) I will STILL have some to try that I hadn't gotten to before:rotfl2:

It's amazing how many different places there are to eat.... and with that many choices... why is it such a challenge to get ADRs anyway:confused3

Paula

I think when I counted I will be trying 9 new meals!!! Isn't that just wonderful!!! Yes I can't believe how many different choices there are or that we are eating at them!!! I really can't wait!!!!

Uhhhh, OK- I haven't been jealous of you until this point!!!! :lmao: You managed to list most of my favorites plus some new ones I have pinned for future ADR's.. incl Liberty Tree Tavern (figured it would be a good spot for eating before watching spectro) The only one I didn't see that I reallllly want to try is Tepon Edo, but you have Yak n Yeti so that pretty much covers your asian inspired meal for the week :rotfl:
And yes, the cheeseburger at Sci Fi is the best I've had on Disney property- make sure to have a choc milk shake for me too!

OOOH....Sci Fi sounds like a lot of fun and I can't wait to try its burger and I did hear the milkshakes are fantastic too!!

AND THE TEA!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? :cloud9:

I know...I'm really looking forward to that tea...I'm already having a hard time deciding what tea to get LOL!

What fantastic eating.... you are going so many place I want to try and others that we already love!

Seriously.......that is a GREAT list!!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM............................

Wow! This trip sounds INCREDIBLE!! :woohoo: I'm so glad you get to stay at at Deluxe!! The restaurants sound amazing, and I can't wait to hear about all your plans :thumbsup2 Oh--and I'm super sad we're just missing each other by a couple of hours :guilty:

Oh, you've got some great resteraunts listed!!

I'm so jealous of your Beaches and Cream lunch. We stayed at BC and managed to never fit it in. Have a No Way Jose for me, k?

Sanaa-Yum! We liked the bread sampler appy, and I really enjoyed my Tandoori lamb chops. The cardamom(?) butter cake for dessert was delicious!

I'd love to do the GF tea sometime. It sounds very special.:goodvibes

Absolutely...does it get any better than ice cream, chocolate, and peanut butter!!! Hmmmm...I'm just in heaven thinking about it!

I have three words for you: YUM, YUM, YUM!

Reading your list and thinking about all the food made my tummy growl. I agree with the pp, you are going to roll out of the World after this trip.

I want to try Tonga Toast so bad, but Rob isn't interested at all. Would it be bad of me to wake up early and go get some by myself. :)

Great update!

What I really like about the Tonga Toast at Kona is that its served with strawberry compote and that just sounds heavenly to me LOL

All right, I am coming over... what is one more subscription... :faint: This looks like too much fun!

Awww...thank you so much and WELCOME!!!!!

Holy Moly Macaroni.... what great dining choices. I can't wait to read the food review when you ladies get back. Especially the tea, I'm thinking of surprising Mom with a girls tea for an early b-day gift while we are on our trip. And character meals, how fun, we really want to do crystal palace and chef mickeys too.

popcorn::popcorn::

Oh a tea with your Mom would be so much fun!! I can't wait to share with all of you our dining reviews!!

I'm here for this one too!! I love your dinning choices and I expect to see lots of pics from Saratoga Springs. I want to stay there soon. My family and I are DVC members but we usually stay at OKW but we're definitely interested in seeing SS!! Can't wait to hear more!!

Good choices you got there! I can't wait to join you for some of them!! :goodvibes

I can't wait to indulge in some of them with you!! It's going to be so much fun and so YUMMY!!

What fantastic eating.... you are going so many place I want to try and others that we already love!

Awww...which ones are you favorites!!! I can't wait I counted it out and I'm trying about 9 new restaurants so it should be a lot of fun!

Seriously.......that is a GREAT list!!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM............................

I couldn't agree more Jen!!!!

YAY!! WELCOME!!!!!! I will definitely take a lot of pics of SSR just for you!!!

OH my goodness... 10 pages later....

Holy heck fire!! you went from AS to SSR? :yay::yay::yay::yay:

That is worth four "yays" in my book!!! I know from many TRs that the All Star resorts are very nice and great themes, but on an indulgent food fest, drink fest, birthday fest, stare and drool at the cute waiters at Chef's fest, where else CAN you stay but at a deluxe with the DXDDP ??!!! SSR is lovely. We were there last Nov, and it was just what the dr. ordered, relaxing, peaceful, pretty. The main pool :goodvibes the spa??!! Are you going to use that any time?

Your restaurants of choice are great!! what good choices!! Now did I miss something? Did you actually have ADR day? Christine did, so I guess you all did too... and get everything that you wanted? HOW fun and exciting!! I do wish I could steal away for this DIS meet, truly....

Paula, I did send you a pm back a long time ago THANKING you for my green taggie, but every time I see it I smile ALL over again!!! So thanks so very very much

YOUR SCRAP BOOKS ARE AMAZINGLY ADORABLE!!!! :)

Okay I think that covers it. NO more 10 page marathons for me!!!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Very well put!! Yes we are being rather indulgent!

I think I'm the only one who didn't actually call to make any ADRs.... since we are not all going to be together the whole time (although Jen and I will be) C made the ADRs that she will be going to, then Jen made our other ADRs since she will be arriving 2 days before me, so she had the advantage!

Paula, I did send you a pm back a long time ago THANKING you for my green taggie, but every time I see it I smile ALL over again!!! So thanks so very very much

I'm glad you like it!! And I did recieve your PM:goodvibes if there was a way i could have kept DISigning and limiting it just to the tags...I would have. i love making those!

YOUR SCRAP BOOKS ARE AMAZINGLY ADORABLE!!!! :)

Thank you!!

Chapter 5: Lefou, I'm afraid I've been thinking...." "A dangerous pastime..." "I know..." -lyrics sung by Gaston and Lefou

Yes my friends, I have been thinking and it has led to a most glorious of Disney ideas!! Of course like all great ideas it was started by a little spark lit by a great friend of mine LL!! LL is a most terrific writer; whether it’s her PTR or her TR I’m almost guaranteed to be entertained and inspired!!! Well one of her more amazing ideas is her countdowns, it never fails that she comes up with a great countdown. Currently in her PTR she is doing Disney characters and what a great job she is doing with that! Well I was bit by the bug; I wanted to do a unique type of countdown. So of course I went to LL and asked for some ideas and nothing was just shouting out me and Paula. We’re an odd couple you can say and well if I’m going to write about it, it better be something that I’m passionate about and then once upon a Google I found it!

HIDDEN MICKEYS

I adore finding Hidden Mickeys!! I have read the Hidden Mickey books and I recently found a website dedicated to Hidden Mickeys. Paula mentioned to me that she even was browsing the Hidden Mickey book at the bookstore. However, we all know about the Hidden Mickeys in the WDW and Disneyland attractions, but did you know they have Hidden Mickeys in the movies too…oh I had no idea and I have been well educated (the internet is a glorious resource for stuff like this, however don’t do you graduate papers and use Wikipedia as a reference LOL) and I thought it would be really fun to share a lot of this information with you in the form of a countdown!!

Well I would love to say I would do a daily countdown but well, I’m a procrastinator and I make it a policy to try not making promises I can’t keep, so I will update regularly on my countdown, along with other PTR fodder (which I am sure you are more interested in anyways LOL), but it won’t be daily until we get closer to the trip LOL!!!
So today is 77 days until I arrive at Disney and 79 days until Paula arrives (and if I’m wrong on my math here just pretend with me LOL)! And without further ado…I give you our first Hidden Mickey!

SLEEPING BEAUTY

sleeping-beauty-4.jpg

HAHAHA…of course I would choose my very favorite Disney movie and tell you about the Hidden Mickey in it. Now this one I knew about all along because I saw it one night and it totally tickled my funny bone and got a comment from Prince Phillip along the lines of “You really are a Disney freak!” You do not have to wait very long to find this Hidden Mickey it actually appears very quickly at the beginning of the movie, shortly after the storybook closes. If you look closely at the crowd of people parading into the castle to celebrate the birth of Princess Aurora, you just might find one of the royal subjects carrying a stick and that stick is wearing Mickey ears…yes I kid you not, it’s there so pull out your copy of Sleeping Beauty and watch it.

As far as a park Hidden Mickey, because it wouldn’t be fair to neglect park Hidden Mickeys. I was really really tempted to tell you about one in the Haunted Mansion but I wasn’t sure where I would find the connection between Sleeping Beauty and Haunted Mansion. Then it dawned on me…that well of course there is the fact that the wonderful woman who is the voice of Mme. Leota is also the voice of Maleficent the evil fairy turned dragon in Sleeping Beauty. Therefore all was well in my world and I could very easily share with you one of my favorite Hidden Mickeys of all time located in the Haunted Mansion.

HAUNTED MANSION

As you are exiting the graveyard scene of the Haunted Mansion (singing the Grim Grinning Ghosts song, please tell me there are others who do this LOL) right as you see the Opera Singer take a look at the tomb behind you inside you will see a grim keeper looking ghost. Take a look at his left hand (which will be on your right) and notice the silhouette there; low and behold it’s a Hidden Mickey!

So there begins our countdown!!! I’m working on a PTR update focusing on the trip and I hope to have that up very soon! I know for a fact that purchases have been made not only by myself (I might have gone a bit crazy), but Paula has succumbed to the Cess Pool that is our chat room and also made a few purchases and there might also be in our future matching sandals…but of course as any evil DISer I’m going to make you wait to hear more about that!!!

So Happy Saturday!!!! Enjoy your weekend!!

Hidden Mickeys. LOVE it. I think I have seen the one in Sleeping Beauty before, but it's been a long time since I watched that movie :confused3. Your countdown will give me notes for our trip to look for hidden mickeys :mickeyjum

Thanks for my entertainment today popcorn::popcorn::

Awww thank you so much I was hoping people would like the idea!! I can't want to share with you a lot of Hidden Mickeys to be on the lookout for on your next trip!

So I am sitting there, starting at that picture of Aurora thinking there is going to be a Hidden Mickey! :lmao: D'oh!

I am going to have to watch Sleeping Beauty again so I can see this Hidden Mickey.

I think this is the perfect countdown idea for your PTR! So much fun! :goodvibes

LOL - I did the same thing with the picture. Even worse, I convinced myself that I found one...in the basket...if you pretend that her hand is covering Mickey's other ear. Anyone got a bridge they want to sell me? :lmao:

That is totally what I saw too!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Ahem... yes, I found the hidden mickey in the hand basket too. Glad I wasn't alone! These will be fun to read!

Oh Jen:

What a fabulous idea - posting Hidden Mickeys. :thumbsup2I am so bad at Hidden Mickeys and I knew there was one in the graveyard scene in HM, but I never knew where it was. Thank you so much for telling. Of course, I will probably still need to ride it a few times before I find it!!!!

Jen, what an absolutely wonderful and original idea!!! I didn't know that Disney movies had Hidden Mickeys in them as well -- now I need to go watch Sleeping Beauty again! :thumbsup2
