Chapter 4: “This much I knew. If you are what you eat, then I only wanna eat the good stuff.” – Remy

I love food, yes I really do, probably too much, but I do enjoy a good meal. Finding time to cook during the school year is tough so summers are spent finding quick fix meals and testing them on Prince P. Paula’s schedule with her 3 kids is even crazier than mine so time in the kitchen is at a premium. I spend my summers riding my stationary bike watching Paula Deen. That’s right I’m a Food Network junkie, I’m on a first name basis with Bobby, Giada, and Ina. Paula is known to come on the DIS boards and do what she likes to call “virtual” dining while browsing the dining reviews. All of this to say we love food, especially Disney food.

This love of Disney food and the desire to try new restaurants, signature restaurants, and of course being at Disney during EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival led to an easy decision for me and Paula. We knew we would go Deluxe, Deluxe Dining that is! This trip is all about having fun and divulging in a little extravagance here and there, and what better way than with the DxDP!

With the DxDP, Paula and I have a lot of credits to spend and I’m sure by now you are all dying to know how they will be spent. Well I’m happy to oblige, however first I need to inform you of a few things. In order to preserve the details of our itinerary for later PTR fodder, it has been decided by Paula and me to only reveal at this time the restaurants we will be dining at and in no particular order (I know we are a crazy and probably frustrating duo LOL). I also must mention that a few of these restaurants I will be dining at before Paula arrives. We both promise full disclosure of the when and who we are dining with in a timely fashion…(channeling my inner Lumiere)…And NOW this PTR Proudly presents: Our Restaurants! (*Cue Be Our Guest)

1. Crystal Palace

~Looking forward to meeting up with Pooh and the Gang, should be a lot of fun and good food to be had!!!

2. California Grill (Located in the Contemporary Resort, Floor 15)

~Great dinner, great companionship, and Wishes from the balcony, need I say more!

3. Cinderella’s Royal Table

~What better way for two princesses to celebrate their birthdays than in the Castle!

4. Mama Melrose’s

~ I’m Italian, enough said!

5. Rose & Crown

~The Fish –n-Chips were so yummy I’m going for seconds, of there is this little thing called Illuminations!

6. Sci-Fi Dine In Theater

~Old, kooky sci-fi clips, sitting in a car, and quite possibly the best cheeseburger on property.

7. Yak and Yeti

~Two Words my friends: FRIED WONTONS

8. Chef Mickey’s

~Napkin Twirling anyone???

9. Garden Lounge Tea

~ Fine ladies, drinking fine tea, in a fine resort!

10. The Brown Derby

~ This just a must-do! I think this time someone is getting a phone call during our meal!

11. Liberty Tree Tavern

~ A restaurant within viewing distance of my beloved Haunted Mansion, oh and we hear the Tavern Fried Cheese is yummy!!!

12. Yachtsman

~Beef is definitely what is for dinner! And the crème brulee is simply sinful!
13. Sanaa

~Something new and something exotic – we are really looking forward to this one!

14. Kona Café

~Tonga Toast and Macadamia Nut pancakes, the breakfast of champions or at least Disney tourists!

15. Tusker House

~Can’t pass up the great buffet and the chance to see Donald and friends in all their safari gear!

16. Les Chefs de France

~I’d say we are going for the fine French food, but we all know it’s the fine French waiters we are in search of LOL!

17. Beaches and Cream (HOW IN THE WORLD DID I FORGET THIS ONE)

~Once again great company mixed with great burgers and ice cream, you certaintely cannot go wrong!

9 days = 17 amazing restaurants, should we start taking bets on the number of pounds I’m going to gain LOL!!! So there you have it our dining choices, please let us know some of your faves from these places and any pictures of great eats from these dining locations!

Wow! 10 of 17 are new for me! A full half! I've never done DxDDP before, and with the kiddos, we really try hit a bunch of character meals.

Even after my November Trip (where we are eating at 6 new restaurants) I will STILL have some to try that I hadn't gotten to before

It's amazing how many different places there are to eat.... and with that many choices... why is it such a challenge to get ADRs anyway

Uhhhh, OK- I haven't been jealous of you until this point!!!! You managed to list most of my favorites plus some new ones I have pinned for future ADR's.. incl Liberty Tree Tavern (figured it would be a good spot for eating before watching spectro) The only one I didn't see that I reallllly want to try is Tepon Edo, but you have Yak n Yeti so that pretty much covers your asian inspired meal for the week
And yes, the cheeseburger at Sci Fi is the best I've had on Disney property- make sure to have a choc milk shake for me too!

I'm so jealous of your Beaches and Cream lunch. We stayed at BC and managed to never fit it in. Have a No Way Jose for me, k?

Sanaa-Yum! We liked the bread sampler appy, and I really enjoyed my Tandoori lamb chops. The cardamom(?) butter cake for dessert was delicious!

I'd love to do the GF tea sometime. It sounds very special.

Reading your list and thinking about all the food made my tummy growl. I agree with the pp, you are going to roll out of the World after this trip.

I want to try Tonga Toast so bad, but Rob isn't interested at all. Would it be bad of me to wake up early and go get some by myself.

Holy Moly Macaroni.... what great dining choices. I can't wait to read the food review when you ladies get back. Especially the tea, I'm thinking of surprising Mom with a girls tea for an early b-day gift while we are on our trip. And character meals, how fun, we really want to do crystal palace and chef mickeys too.
