Chances of OKW GV at 7 months for summer?

We would like to take some members of our extended family next summer and will have to book at the 7-month window. Anyone have any idea how difficult this might be? Are some dates better than others? TIA!

OKW seems to have the most availability. We waited until the 7 month window and got our July dates no problem. We even decided to switch and arrive a day later therefore leaving a day later and there was still no problem.

Agreed. Unless the day later made the check-out a Saturday of Sunday morning, thus requiring a weekend night. Those GV weekend nights seem to almost always be available.

Well, we'd definitely be staying a weekend. How will that make a difference though besides just be able to get the weekend?

Weekend points are much more than weekday points, so a lot of folks will only book a GV from Sunday to Friday, and not pay the excessive points needed for Friday and Saturday nights. That means there is often a good chance of getting those nights, but maybe not such a good chance of getting Sunday through Thursday nights.

Just before our 7 month mark opened up I called to check availability for the 3rd week in August, they said they had nothing. So we did a little juggling with our dates and got the last week in August no problem. I did call day by day, however, just to be sure to get what we wanted. We can't wait!!

Sounds like we were just lucky. Didn't do aything special, just called. We are going Monday through the following Tuesday so I don't know if mid week to mid week makes a difference or not. Sorry I thought it was just common since it worked for us.

Grand villas being available at 7 months out is not particularily common during the busy seasons. Sounds like you reall did luck out! So am I to understand you had the 3 bedroom for 8 nights? Or did you mean just one night?

Wow! That's a lot of points! How many people are you sharing with? We have taken several large groups to the GV, and have had a blast! It's such fun to all stay together!

Good luck, Jody! We love teh OKW GVs. I wish they had the OKW 2 bedroom kitchens in them though. I hate the sink placement in the GV kitchen. Love the laundry off the kitchen though, and love the huge dinning table and extra dining set in the living room. Geez, I'm getting the bug to stay in a GV again!
