Can anyone tell me what the chances are of obtaining reservations of a 2 BR at Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas or Villas at the Wilderness Lodge from 7 months out ?????

Thanks!

I think it really depends on what time of year. We were successful in getting a 1 bedroom at BWV for Nov 30 -Dec 8. Although they only had preferred view available we are on the waitlist for the Standard view. Either way, we will have a room at BWV and I was very nervous about getting anything based on what I had been reading.

Go for it and see what happens. I think we read so much on these boards, it tends to get us thinking we'll never get a room.

Good Luck!

Good, with exceptions.... VWL in December is iffy, all others, you should be able to book or waitlist with success!

BUT as more and more people buy into DVC, the 7 month window will be a tougher ticket at the smaller resorts (all the ones you mentioned)

Looking to plan something from Nov 1st - Nov 22nd bracket in 2005 from 7 months out, so I would be booking in April 2005. Need to have a 2BR in the resorts mentioned above.

Thanks for the responses!

I was able to book a 1BR at BCV for the end of October, about 5 months out, so all you can do is try. I did want a 2BR standard view at BWV, which was not available, but I am waitlisted for. I'm really hoping that comes through.

November can be tricky because of the Food & Wine Fest. Try right at 7 months and you should have a good shot. If not the waitlist should be good that far out.

A 2BR should be doable. The 2BR units seem to be the last to go.

A 2 bedroom at the BCV must be the hardest of them all.

Not IMHO. The hardest 2 bedroom to book at 7 months is a standard view at BWV - especially anytime in December!

Vince - sending you good luck. If you can be flexible with your November dates and call as soon as the 7 month window opens, you wil have a good chance of getting your 2 bedroom at BCV, BWV or VWL. My advice is to call day by day if you can.

Best wishes -

I think you should be able to get a 2 bedroom if you call right at the 7 month mark. I also think the waitlist would be successful, since many book their trips at 11 months and then change them for a miriad of reasons.

I just booked a 2BR at BCV for Dec 15-23, 2004 and did not have to waitlist at all. We made our reservation for OKW (our home resort) back in February and switched it over right at the 7-month window.

As long as you don't mind the second bedroom with a bed and pull out sofa sleeper you shouldn't have any problems. But if you wanted one with the two beds, I think that would be extremely hard to get. We tried that last year and had to waitlist. This was for mid July and luckily when we checked in, the first half of our reservation was for the 2 beds but the second 5 days was not but the nice CM extended our first stay so we did not have to switch rooms from the 2 beds. I believe there are only 25 of the 2 beds.

At the 7 month window for this July. I think it will depend in the coming months on whether or not all of the new SSR members will want to stay at SSR for their 1st trip home or look elsewhere like I did. With all the recent sales, I may never get another BCV chance. I changed my reservation from SSR to BCV in December, long before there were many pictures and no trips reports. If I were to have to make the same decison now, I might now want to instead keep the SSR reservation. So what will most decide to do?

We had booked SSR at the 11 month window for Dec 2-5th and then on the 7 mth window we were waitlisted for BCV for a studio. We did the automatic deal where they cancel the old and make the new should it become available and we just got in the mail today the new ressie and are very excited. Since it is going to be just the two of us we are very excited to get the new ressie for the holidays. We honeymooned there and are looking forward to our return!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :wizard:

How about that!

Thanks for all the very helpful responses. One thing I just learned from the responses was that there are "dedicated" 2 BR's, I was always under the impression that at all the resorts besides OKW you were give the Queen with the Sofa in the second BR. I thought the word "dedicated" just meant that there was no lock off and only one door to enter the unit. This new info is very helpful because we really need the 2 Queens in the 2nd BR.

Also does anyone know how DVC determines whether to discount a room by the 25% when paying cash? I am assuming its based on demand, not sure though, my memory is very cloudy on this.

Thanks Again,
Vince

I was just able to make reservations for a 1 bedroom at Wilderness lodge for Dec 10-15 and I thought it would be a problem but it wasn't.

They also had Beach Club preferred view and Boardwalk available.....

Rooms with the 25% member cash discount come from the "points" inventory of rooms. MS only makes the cash discount available if it is determined that not all of the rooms will be reserved for points. No one here really knows what formula
they use to determine how many (if any) rooms to make available for the member cash discount. It's best not to count on getting one and to consider yourself lucky if you do.

Sometimes, CRO has better rates/discounts than does MS, so it pays to check. However, the CRO/DVC reservation systems are not linked so there is no way to be sure that you can stay in the same room if part of your stay is booked by CRO.

Dedicated two bedrooms at the other resorts (Beach Club is the only other one I know of for sure that has Dedicated, I thought all BWV 2 bedrooms were lock offs, therefore bed/pull out combo) are the first to be booked.

For our trip in October, we reserved a dedicated 2 bedroom, at that time (9 months out) there were several 2 bedrooms but only one other dedicated 2 bedroom left.

Keep us posted!

We have very good luck at 7 months getting into the BCV, as stated Standard View at the BW is the only one usually completely booked.

For the two bed BCV unit you have to get the dedicated 2 queen bed specification or you will just have a dedicated with one bed and sofa bed. There are 2 bedroom dedicated with the bed and sofa so be careful and be very specific. Also we were told by MS that if we made a cash ressie we would not be able to have the 2 bed combo, I have heard others have but that's what was told to me last year so I borrowed big time so I did not have to change rooms and have the 2 beds for the 10 days.
