I have never figured out how or why Hannah Montana became a huge success for Disney Channel. Because the way I see it I think Disney Channel wanted to see how a music centered show about a singer could work for Disney Channel. After all Nickelodeon did this in the 90's with Taina and I think Disney Channel modeled Hannah Montana after Taina. I think why they cast Miley Cyrus in the Hannah Montana role was so Miley Cyrus could become a big celebrity and as with kids of famous singers it seems to work. But it's easy to see why Hannah Montana became a popular show for Disney Channel because they used it to market merchandise and sell to kids. Because as the show got popular Disney launched a deal with Walmart and had an entire aisle devoted to Hannah Montana. I do remember this because I went to Walmart a lot and there would be Hannah Montana dolls clothing handbags and vice versa and I couldn't understand why it was hyped. And they even made Hannah Montana The Movie in theaters which goes to show that Disney wanted to do the same thing that worked with Lizzie McGuire and use that same exact formula with Hannah Montana. I would be shocked if Disney does a reboot of Hannah Montana for Disney+ because as popular as that show was it certainly made a lot of money for Disney Channel
