Celebrating my Un-Birthday Disney Style-April 2010-New 5/3 - The TR has started!

Great pictures! I think March/April/May would be a beautful time to visit WDW. Our spring here in MN is much like yours. Snowy and then muddy! ;)

Hi Amy. As far as water parks go we have only been once to Blizzard Beach. Because of the ages of my boys (teenagers when we went) we chose BB. Lots of slides there (LOTS of stairs)!!!!! I find water parks soooo tiring. Between all the stairs & the sun & water I fade very quickly!! It was fun though but they have not asked to go back & we are so busy touring the parks that we have not been back.

I have to admit to the wearing of the fanny pack also. They are just too darned handy!!:lmao: I know not a fashion statement but..sometimes I carry it over my shoulder. I did buy a Disney sling type back pack that I have used the last few trips which I like but still not as handy as that darned fanny pack!!

Now if you were talk about shoes, MAYBE I could join in.....MAYBE.

:rotfl2: But seriously... I might go there! I really do need to start thinking about shoes!

I like Disney's version of spring much better than the NH version!

I'm a bit worried about those stairs!! If Zach can get to 48 inches I'm going to push for TL - especially if the cousins don't come along. I suppose even if they do, Jeff & Karen might prefer to lounge around more at TL. I really want to ride Crush n' Gusher!

Yes the fanny pack! :headache: I tried to use my Vera Bradley hipster during the last trip, but for some reason my shoulder blades were killing me. Plus I wear prescription glasses so every time I go in and out of a building I have to change my glasses to/from my sunglasses. A backpack is hard to work with as far as that goes. I need something that I can quickly access on my front side and a fanny pack seems to be the only thing that doesn't hurt my shoulders. The Hipster was OK as long as I didn't use it every day all day. We'll see what else I can come up with over the next 3 months.

By the way - 3 months from today we'll be driving from Tampa to Jeff's house!

I read some neat things about the Flower and Garden Festival this year -- something about the Pixie Hollow part of it being so much bigger than last year's. I am looking forward to all of your photos of the beautiful flowers.

Shoes!

I'm all about the shoes...

:rotfl:

I can't do the hipster for the very reason you describe, it just doesn't hold a glasses cases right, or hit right, any hip purse actually. Backpacks are a production but they do hold a lot more and are more comfortable.

I just go for a small shoulder bag or put what I need in my pockets (cargo capri's!) and make Jeff carry everything else.

:rotfl:

Although I may branch out for DCA...

Flower and Garden Festival - woohoo! We really enjoyed going during that last year. :goodvibes

:cloud9: It's so beautiful! There's so much to do - I remember seeing some of your pictures & there were things we had missed!

We didn't even see the old Pixie Hollow last year - I can't wait to see it this year. I just read an article about it at the Disney Insider! We also missed visiting the play areas last year - we'll definitely have to check out those areas this year. I'm going to pick up a F&G brochure Monday night when we visit Epcot for dinner & Illuminations so I have time to look through it before we go back later in the week for our rope drop morning. :thumbsup2

Oh the shoes! You are the one who got me thinking shoes... ;)

All caught up!

I like your new schedule...I think it goes well with the J&K family joining you. Are you sure that you want to plan to get to AK late? I just worry about how much you can get done in the heat of the day. We usually go early and leave by 4pm, that way we get a relaxing evening....even time for DTD. Just a thought.

That's where I read all the information, too!

Hi Heidi!! I see what you mean about the heat of the day at AK... and if you want to avoid the heat of the day at any park, AK would be it! It always seems so much hotter there than anywhere else! :headache:

However, arriving late at a park for my family will probably mean 9:30. I'm just not going to go commando and make everybody wake up early if they want to sleep a bit more after a late night. I'll probably be the first one up & I'll get everything ready. It seems like my kids wake up by 7 no matter how late they stay up! :sad2:

Reading all the banter about water parks and I don't have any thing to add, I only know I am where you are, too -- trying to avoid them as long as possible! Re the F & G show WOW that is so the time I want to go next... I have two big things to see the Starwars Weekends, and the F & G show.... but they are too close together!!:headache: I would love to take DS's to see the Starwars bit -- and I would love to meander around the flower show!!!! Can't wait to see your photos! What a nice time of year to be there...;)

Oh good. Since the DIS isn't short on bag enablers I feel I have to do my part.

:rotfl:

:lmao:

Poor Jordan has to deal with all these women talking about bags... :rotfl2:

I really enjoy the F&G Festival! :cloud9: If my boys were into Star Wars at all I'm sure I'd want to visit during SWW, but so far they aren't really into that. I doubt Alex will ever get into it, but there's hope for Zach. Some of his kindergarten classmates like Star Wars. He thinks all the names are funny!

I hear you Amy!! I wear glasses also & I am always taking them off & putting on my prescription sunglasses!! It is a pain!!

Yay for 3 months!!:yay: We are leaving 3 months from this coming Saturday!! Right now I have Dis Radio going & catching up on all my subscriptions!!

Yes - prescription glasses are a pain, but not as bad as contacts. I've tried so many different kinds of contact lenses and never have any luck. I think my eyes just get too dry! :headache:

Yay for 3 months!!
