I'm new to this thread, so excuse me if this has already been said, but I watched some of the trail the other day, and that judge.... he doesn't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. Listening to him talk for just 5 minutes gave me a head ache! Hope he (and the jury) does the right thing here.... Can't wait till this is all over - I've been following this case since before it was a case!
Wow! I respectfully disagree because I think that Judge Perry is brilliant. He does, probably purposefully, talk rather folksy. That may lull some people into a false sense of security, but undoubtedly plays well with juries.
I think he has a razor sharp mind, and is demonstrating that in this trial. Judge Perry is a very pro-death penalty judge. His record is fantastic and his decisions have seldom (if ever) been overturned, IIRC.
I think that Casey is guilty. Those 31 days and the lying, the fiction, the "kidnapping" etc. -- she is just not credible. It broke my heart to see her Dad on the stand this morning. I couldn't stomach the p.m.
I, personally, do not like the death penalty, but I'm fine with Life Without Parole for people like Casey. I'm watching this trial to see *how* Florida makes that decision -- because I refuse to believe that Casey the Sociopath will walk away scot-free from this one.
But then OJ got acquitted in the criminal trial.
