I didn't post earlier because we were getting ready to leave the house, but when I heard her tell that story, (and say that it happened what, a few days ago? a week ago? a few weeks ago? whatever) I am pretty sure she told that same story in her death and dying lecture I heard in 2000. I asked DH (he went to the same lecture), and he said it sounded familiar to him too.

Oh geez! I was recapping everything for DH tonight and after making fun of the tipsy doctor, I said her final story was touching and she is probably of great comfort to someone that has lost a loved one. Now you have me thinking that she just read this story in a Chicken Soup for the Soul book and has been using it for years!

I always thought that what KC did was indefensible. This DT has certainly proven that. Sometimes you get to see justice play out before you. In this case KC got just who she deserved.

NG says the hogwarts lady should have been inadmissable.

Yep! The prosecution couldn't have ended on a better note even if they had scripted it. The jury leaves with a picture of a mother grieving for her child by sitting out in the cold rain. . . quite the contrast to ICA, huh?

Definitely a good picture to leave the jury with, and I'm sure CM is having a "doh!" moment. Baez didn't get it.

Absolutely.

I also liked how the witness said that what Ashton described wouldn't fall under her area of diagnosis (remember, she's a grief specialist). Bingo!

I caught that too - very good for the state.

I'm not 100% certain (or 99.99% certain), but I was up doing other things and half listening and when she started telling that story I said wait - I have heard that before! I'm not saying it never happened to her, though. It could have happened 12 years ago and she's been telling the story ever since.

That was obvious as soon as she said she was peer-reviewed by Barnes & Noble.

OJ Simpson was acquitted of murder, but was found guilty of wrongful death in a civil suit by Nicole Brown's family. IF Casey is acquitted of murder, can Cindy, George, and/or Lee file a civil suit for wrongful death? How about this paternal grandmother IF a DNA test proves she is in fact the paternal grandmother? Can a civil suit be filed even if she is found guilty of murder?

Is the tag fairy still out there? We've had so many good tags from these 4 threads that I think she's ignoring us!

Oh yes she / h is out there. Someone waged war and the tag fairy really messed with their tags. Even cleared them, put there post count back to zero.

:scared1: Don't upset the tag fairy! (And I always see the tag fairy as the blue fairy from Pinocchio in my head, so I'm sorry if tag fairy is a boy!)

OK finally caught up. Got the jist of all todays action. I do have In Session dvr'd so I'll watch GA later. Sounds like I missed today's comic relief with the Grief Lady. And I missed my other brother Darryl? Rats.

Saw bits of GA on Jane Velez. I could wring ICA's neck. Cold, heartless bad-word. I can't imagine seeing a stranger go thru that, let alone my father.

Irony: getting report this AM from night nurse. She stumbled over patient's name, couldn't pronounce it. I had to say it for her- "Zenaida". Guess she isn't following this case.

About ICA's lawyers being late: I thought Judge Perry said last week that the lawyers needed to be in court by 8:30 every morning so the jury can start hearing testimony at 9 & aren't held up while "other" legal matters are tended to. :confused3

Joe Episcopo says he believes they won't charge Cindy with perjury if it turns out that she lied on the stand. That makes me very, very sad ...

The thing is there's no way to prove it was or wasn't Cindy who googled chloroform, even though anyone with a brain can tell she was lying. And I think a jury would be sympathetic to Cindy, so a perjury case wouldn't go anywhere.

His facial expressions may appear "sleepy" at times, but he lost his right eye in an accident when he was 6 years old. His right eye is a prosthetic.

I didn't know that! That's why he looks so dopey sometimes! But the man is brilliant. He knows the law and he handles the courtroom like a seasoned pro, not like the nut who presided over the Anna Nicole case.

Is George's suicide note posted somewhere online? I think that goes a long way in proving his innocence.

I was thinking I'd love to read it, but then again, I know it would be heartbreaking. If they brought it out as evidence, the defense team would say it was all a sham anyway.

Some thoughts. I may be naive, but I still can't grasp Casey's attitude. I was thinking even if she didn't love Caylee or care that she's dead doesn't make her guilty. But what I can't grasp is that we're all strangers to Caylee and we're feeling it in our hearts. Even if Casey was glad Caylee died (accidentally, say), where's the emotion from hearing about a baby having a meter stick poked in her eye skull eye socket? Where's the facial expressions from hearing about a baby eaten by animals? Even if she were happy Caylee was gone, wouldn't a normal human being at least show something, anything in their faces? How can she be mentally normal?? I know she doesn't fit the legal definition of insane, but she has to be mentally ill to be able to smile and sit there like that. I truly don't understand.
