Casey Anthony Civil Trials Discussion

The court system in Aruba is not the same as the US...

And he would have to depend on Baez thinking about where he went right in the trial. As shocked as he was at the verdict--I'm not sure tossing stuff around and seeing what sticks works so well in Aruba.

Nancy Grace must be having a fit about now.

Baez's notepad

1. A shark ate her (cant interview the shark)

2. umm ummm ummm call ICA later to conjure up some lies

3. she went snorkeling and forgot you cant breath under water... yeah that will work.

4. Im screwed, just say your busy managing ICA's career.

Are you going to ignore those who don't ignore interviewers? LOL

I go back and forth about watching it. I'm still in a funk from the last few days of thinking about 9/11 :(...not sure I want to deal with getting myself going about anything. It sure would be "fun" for the "CA threads alumni" to watch together tho! We could have a major snarkfest and throw things at the TV. :teeth:

I'm at work but I like to throw things. We have a "bad call brick" at home. It is a foamy type thing and it was bought for use during football games (or any sporting event I guess) where you don't agree with the call.

If Febreeze were smart, they'd stick a dead body in a car, let it sit for awhile, Febreeze it and let people sit in the dead body car and see if they can tell the difference (like the ads they're running now)!!!

I hate those commercials. I would be gagging if that was me, even though I know it is fake

Yea, too bad we can't have the Anthony's hooked up to a machine that everytime they lie, a loud buzzer would go off. (Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz, buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

I volunteer to be the one pressing the buzzer

OMG i just tuned into the Joy Behar show and now the seizure discussion is going on! They had ICA fully evaluated and NOTHING (no diagnosis) after the first Grand-mal seizure. CA thinks she has/had a brain tumor. One in 07 and one a year and a half later, CA's response was "well what about now" (ie something wrong) after the second seizure happened? . She cannot just come to grips that her daughter did anything wrong much less kill her granddaughter.

as someone who has lost family members to brain tumors and a brother to a grand mal seizure that could not be stopped this whole line of excuses just burns my butt big time. I felt some sympathy for Cindy but it is totally gone now and I just think she is pathetic and just as bad as her daughter.

#3 just cracked me up. :lmao:

Addition to Baez notepad:

5. Bring Roy Kronk to Aruba and make sure he has plenty of duct tape.

After as watching this, I believe Cindy is covering for Casey 100% I hated how she kept blaming all of Casey problem on George gambling debt, This was George money to spend he wasn't stealing it from anyone, CAsey on the other hand stole money from everyone.

I still don't think George is covering for Casey, he seems so heart sick.

Thanks for the recap, Curly! I am just starting to watch and I'll try not to repeat too much of what you have said.

5 minutes in and they are showing a picture of the Anthony family when Casey and Lee were young. Am I seeing things or is the one side of Casey's head completely shaved bald?

Postpartum schizophrenia?? :lmao: :rotfl2: They didn't notice any odd behavior with her until AFTER Caylee was born. So, forgetting to tell your parents that you won't be able to graduate, hiding your pregnancy, and not reveling who the father was .........that was normal behavior?? The "odd" behavior wasn't until later?? :rotfl2:

So did he skip the whole sexual abuse storyline? He asked about Casey lying in court about George being involved in the drowning or disposal of the body but didn't mention sexual abuse. :confused3 He better bring this up tomorrow.

While Cindy is making excuses for Casey during the hot body contest, George looks like he wants to vomit. He says, "There are some things Cindy and I don't agree on." :rolleyes1

Here comes the seizure argument. Cindy truly believes Casey is a victim based on her "illness." Wow! I've seen denial but this is just pathetic.
I hope Cindy finds herself a really good therapist because she needs some serious help.

I found the whole thing rather sad. Dr. Phil asked a lot of the right questions but I don't think he pushed them for better explanations.

I don't know how George and Cindy have managed to remain together. Cindy doesn't believe any of this is Casey's fault and I think George does. My husband and I disagree on some things but I can't imagine disagreeing on whether or not our kid murdered our granddaughter!

DISGUSTING is the only word i can think of that remotely covers it. Cindy must think the whole world is as stupid as the jury was to believe what comes out of her mouth and the scenerios she has created to justify or excuse what her daughter did.

I am interested in hearing what George has to say tomorrow as i think he still has an ounce or two of common sense left and does know that his daughter was responsible for his beloved grandaughters death, and that his wife is in serious denial and grasping at anything so she does not have to face the true facts. I just wish he had a bit of a backbone and could have stood up to Cindy............

But enough from me as they just set me off and i could type a post as long as a book :rolleyes1

How much do you want to bet Baez will accuse this guy's mother of molesting him as a child as part of the defense? Hey -- if it worked for Casey .....

ETA - I can't wait to see what kind of experts Baez brings in on this one ....

Casey had excuses for not paying her mom back (didn't get paycheck on time, etc.). Cindy couldn't kick Casey out because she was concerned that she didn't have the means to support her and Caylee.

George: "She [Cindy] enabled her [Casey]". (Wow -- shocking)

Dr. Phil - "Don't you say 'something happened and I need you now'?" in regard to the 6 phone calls in 4 minutes that Casey made to Cindy. Cindy: "If she was asking for help, I know I would've dropped everything."

Phil: "You go from seeing this child daily to having no contact w/her for 31 days. You know that she lies but yet you say OK I believe you, she's asleep, she's this, she's that, she's not there. She's with this Zanny the Nanny for 2 years and you've never met her. You don't know her. You don't know who her father is, you never met her boyfriend who shesays she's staying with, you don't know her friends, you didn't verify her employment, the car has been impounded and you go pick up the car and smell what smells like a dead body and you febreeze the trunk and go to work. In looking back does that seem like you missed huge signals that something was wrong before the 31st day?" Cindy: "You've got to understand Casey started talking about Zanny in Spring 2006" and "People's misconception was that Zanny watched Caylee every day". (Uh .... nobody has misconceptions because there was no Zanny, freak show!) "Casey's story to me was that she was working a 2nd job, she was telling me she was trying to get her life on track. I didn' t know she was lying for 2 yrs. about the job, I didn't now she was lying about Zanny."

OK - so your child works but has no money, steals your money, steals Grandma's money, steals gas and you think this is normal for a person who has an income?! Seriously!?

Cindy: "I am going on those 31 days, of knowing that Casey took excellent care of Caylee, that she was a good mother, that I never had any reason to doubt her relationship with Caylee." WTH?! Yeah -- she was a great mom not telling you that the kid was gone and making up all those lies!!!

Dr. Phil: "I am a grandfather and I cannot imagine that over a 231 day period that I could talk to my son or DIL and not hear that child in the background. Did nothing ever go off in through your head that every time I talk to her she's sleeping or gone. Never one time ever heard a peep, squeak, laugh, cry, anything from Caylee." Cindy: "That's why on July 3, I drove down to Universal Studios and tried to see C & C. she then said she was in Jacksonville and I was irritated like you wouldn't believe."
Seriously, Cindy? You never once thought it was strange that you didn't hear Caylee in the background? I know what Dr. Phil is saying ... I can call my SIL and I hear my nieces and nephews in the background most of the time!

When asked about what she thought the smell from the car was, Cindy replied "Truthfully, I do not know" (denial ain't just a river in Egypt)

Dr. Phil: "Do you believe she (Caylee) was in that car?"
George: "Some parts of me do believe she was possibly back there. I do."
Cindy: "I don't know. I know she had to be transported to get to the woods. I don't know if she was transported in Casey's car or if she was transported in some other way."
Phil: "You needed someone in authority to compell your daughter to produce your granddaughter?" Cindy: "Absolutely."

Cindy on what she thought when she overheard Casey tell Lee that Zanny kidnapped Caylee): "Why didn't she tell me? Why did she stay away for 31 days?"

Cindy said thought Casey was pretty calm during the 911 call to report Caylee missing.

George said he didn't believe 2/3 of what Casey said was true.

What do the Anthony's think about Casey's behavior while Caylee was missing? Cindy said that Casey's mood was subdued at the bar party and she was reluctant to join the hard body contest and only did so because her friend didn't show up and she had to take her place. Um ... look at that photo -- she looks like she's having a ball!

Dr. Phil says the hard body photo shows a woman who has made a conscious decision to go to a bar within days of being someway involved in the death andcoverup of her child and has a hard time finding that {the photo} in any other way.

Cindy says it is a photo taken out of context. George says he doesn't see it that way. He couldn't be out celebrating and having a good time. George doesn't see it as acceptable behavior. Cindy denies making excuses for Casey (in re. to that photo).

Cindy: "There's something wrong with Casey." (Ya think?)

Phil tells Cindy that she sees Casey as a victim. Cindy agrees. Wow - shocking that Cindy can't see that Caylee is the victim.

How convenient that Casey has random seizures.

In closing, Dr. Phil stated he has no reason to and will not interview Casey. Sounds like Phil knows that Casey is full of bull. Dr. Phil said Cindy is desperately reaching for any reason to excuse her daughter for her role in this tragedy. In the time he spent with her, she has 3main theories:

1. Brain tumor
2. Post partum schizophrenia
3. Grand mal

Dr. Phil says she has no medical evidence of brain tumor and, as a mental health professional he is skeptical that GM seizures would contribute to what happened. He does not see any evidence of post partum schizophrenia.

My opinion: Cindy having to find explanations (seizures, post partum psychosis, brain tumor) shows me that she knows that Casey is guilty of murdering Caylee. Why even pull out these theories when Casey hasn't been convicted?! Why? Why have to justify to anyone? Isn't the fact that a jury found her not guilty enough? Why have to keep covering up with these theories if Casey is truly innocent?

George - just looking at that poor man hurts. He is really broken. I only hope he doesn't attempt to harm himself. He looks so lost, hurt, and betrayed.

wow. I'm even surprised they even said that much....Who did they think was driving that car with Caylee "possibly" in the back? They say G didn't do it so.....????? Bonkers.

LisaR, tomorrow we'll hear KC also had PREpartum schizophrenia.

Yes, Dr. Phil threw out harder questions than I expected, but I noticed he didn't focus on any one thing and hold them accountable...he asked, Cindy spun & he moved on to the next question. :headache:

I know right!!!

Yes, he skipped right over that. I would love to have him discuss this, one-on-one without Cindy around, with George!

While Cindy is making excuses for Casey during the hot body contest, George looks like he wants to vomit. He says, "There are some things Cindy and I don't agree on." :rolleyes1;
I think there's a LOT they don't agree on! I think George knows where the blame lies and Cindy has to make up pretty stories to cover up the yuckiness of it all.

Here comes the seizure argument. Cindy truly believes Casey is a victim based on her "illness." Wow! I've seen denial but this is just pathetic.
I hope Cindy finds herself a really good therapist because she needs some serious help.
The whole "Casey is the victim" really made me sick. I detested Cindy before that comment and my distaste for her has increased by a million! Casey the victim? How can Cindy say that with a perfectly straight face!?!?

I found the whole thing rather sad. Dr. Phil asked a lot of the right questions but I don't think he pushed them for better explanations.
Dr. Phil knows he will never get them to say "Yes, Casey killed Caylee, this is how it went down, and she got away with murder". Therefore, why push? He kept saying "And you believed that?" and Cindy would say "Yes" and Dr. Phil would say "You realize that's not what all of America thinks?" and then they'd cut to commercial.

I am shocked that Dr. Phil isn't pushing them. He's just accepting their answers and moving along. I am waiting for the usual Dr. Phil smackdown that I've seen him give other guests and he's coming up empty.

I don't know how George and Cindy have managed to remain together. Cindy doesn't believe any of this is Casey's fault and I think George does. My husband and I disagree on some things but I can't imagine disagreeing on whether or not our kid murdered our granddaughter!
I am shocked that George has not left that whackadoo! I think that, if I were George, I couldn't be with someone who is so steeped in denial like Cindy is! I am wondering if Cindy doesn't have some kind of dirt on him that she's dangling over his head.

I wish Dr. Phil would say something like "Cindy, you've come up with three theories about why this happened. All of them are just garbage. Why, if your child has been found not guilty, and you think she's not guilty, do you have to come up with an explanation for what happened? Why not just let it go? The jury felt that Casey didn't kill Caylee. Why do you have to come up with theories if she is so innocent?"

I am hoping Dr. Phil goes into smackdown mode tomorrow however, I am not holding my breath.

I heard somebody say last night that she isn't lying so much to cover for Casey as to explain her own unexplainable behavior. If she had confronted Casey and got her the help she needed instead of covering for her, she may have prevented the death of the grand daughter she loved. I thought that was interesting.

On the news after the show yet another interview with Dr. Phil (he really gets around) he said that tomorrow some of the topics include:

The molestation allegations

How do they really think Caylee died

If KC came to their front door pleading "I have no where to go and no money can I please come home" what would there reaction be? Spoiler from Dr. Phil "their reactions are very different"..... ya think?

Only ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Oh yeah and to add to tomorrows discussion is the shovel...CA still think KC used it to dig roots or break into the shed.

BTW it is no longer called a Grand Mal seizure, they are called tonic-clonic seizures, I would think as a nurse Cindy would know this... just sayin

that a possibility, I would rather think that way then she was covering for her,

Just watching it now.
I feel terrible for George. I think he "knows" what happened and is just heartbroken.
Cindy is a liar. Plain and Simple. It is very obvious in her words, actions, eye contact (lack of). Very sad the Grandmother did not want justice for her grand daughter.

Pinellas County can't help him now :rotfl2:
Oh, I'm sure those jurors would love a trip to Aruba and another opportunity to use their "logic" and "eloquent speaking" (Cheney Mason, about Jennifer Ford  ) to put it all into perspective for us.

I can just hear Baez's opening statement, on when this woman in Aruba "accidentally" drowned: "Early morning hours, the exact time is not known. It could have been early afternoon, actually it was early morning hours." And that poor suspect...no doubt his way of mourning (per Dr Sally, since everyone grieves differently) was to call the insurance co to collect on the life insurance. :thumbsup2

I think Dr Phil could only push so much...Cindy has an answer and excuse for EVERYTHING; she would go on forever with excuses. Look at Casey and her police interviews...those Anthonys don't give in, even when faced with logic and facts. I think the interview speaks for itself, and people see Cindy's excuses for what they are...BS.

I don't know about George and Cindy staying together, except that they're alone in this; without each other, who do they have? Where do they go?
Just watching it now.

I agree.

Ready to take the grenade for you. They're recapping yesterday's episode.

Dr. Phil: Why did you sit on the information? Cindy: The attorneys did that. Dr. Phil: Jose Baez would not respond to that.

Dr. Phil telling George that people who are sociopaths are narcissistic, think they can get away with it. George says he agrees with that. Dr. Phil is saying you can't explain away horrendous behavior because of a brain tumor or seizures. Is telling them to not kid themselves about her behaviors. Said CA created delusional things like fake job, fake activities. Says criminals have character flaws and so does CA.

Cindy is talking about George and how something triggered him to gamble. Dr. Phil said "He didn't have a brain tumor that made him do it"! Ha!

Cindy thinks CA went psychotic and lost herself. Phil says people lie to escape reality, avoid reality.

You can see that GA is totally still hurting. Cindy not so much. She seems very defensive. Her choking up talking about Caylee doesn't seem genuine to me.

GA couldn't deal with loss of Caylee and decided to commit suicide. Phil reads the part about GA blaming himself for Caylee being gone. Phil asks what he was thinking. He said he questioned why he didn't stay home from work that day, why he didn't he watch Caylee instead. Why isn't Phil saying "Did you have something to do with her death!?"

GA blamed Casey for Caylee not being there.

GA says that he and Cindy disagree on blaming Casey for Caylee's death.

GA: "Do I believe that Casey is involved in something with my granddaughter? Yeah. Was there someone else that possibly could've helped her? Yeah . Did Casey cover something up? Yes. You can see that with your own eyes."

Now Phil is talking to GA alone (thank the lawd!)! GA says he did not have an affair or sex w/River Cruise/Krystal Holloway. Phil asks why Holloway said she was having an affair w/GA and he said he wished he had an answer. Phil is showing the part where Holloway says that GA told her it was an incident that snowballed out of control. GA shakes his head no while watching it and then says he never said that. Phil said efforts were made to contact Holloway but she couldn't be found. GA says her statements have tainted his image. (Like having a murderer for a daughter wasn't enough tainting?) GA says Holloway had a smear campaign against him.

GA says that he feels guilty that he didn't do enough to find out what happened to Caylee.

Phil: "Do you believe she was in the woods burying that baby?" GA: "I believe she was there and I believe she had some help."

GA: "If this scenario that Casey had told her defense about Caylee drowning, then why go through all this elaborate stuff to tape her up, to put her in a laundry bag, to put her in a trash bag and put her in the woods and I can't comprehend nayone, especially my daughter doing that to my granddaughter. I can't visualize that. I don't want to visualize that." "I just miss her."

Phil says CA & GA have dramatically differentiating views on what happened. Phil tells CA & GA that he can't believe what the defense says happened. Asks if what the defense said what happened did, is it ok w/you? CA says no.

Phil asks if they both believe Caylee drowned. CA says she brought it up to sheriff's dept on July 16. CA says she buys the part of Caylee drowning that defense presented but not the circumstances surrounding the drowning including GA being there. CA believes Caylee drowned and it was an accident. GA says he has a differing opinion. GA says he doesn't want to believe that, can't understand how she drowned and ended up at the end of the street. Says "If there was an accident, why didn't Casey go to them, go to George."

Phil asks if Anthonys if they look in the mirror and say "You know the truth don't you". GA says inside his heart, he doesn't believe Cahylee drowned and thinks something else happened. Phiil asks what and GA says someone gave "too much to Caylee and she didn't wake up". Phil asks "Too much what?" and GA says "Drugs, Xanax, some other drug." GA feels that Caylee was in the back of the car and was driven somewhere. Phil asks what purpose of sedating Caylee was. GA says "So she can go out and have a good time, to be with friends. To have this life she didn't have with Caylee, to have the life she didn't have." Cindy says that is the first time GA has said that he believed Caylee was sedated. CA says there were no signs of Caylee drugged and her friends never said a word about Casey being on drugs.

Phil says "Is there a time when you're going to say what happened?"

Phil asks if GA thinks it was chloroform. GA says he doesn't know. Says he will never know truth from Casey. Feels there is evidence that Caylee was in the trunk.

Cindy is angry over the he** they were put through over the last 3 years, over the search for Caylee, that there wasn't a proper way to take care of Caylee's remains. CA agrees that the whole 31 days that Caylee was missing, Casey knew where she was.

Phil says "How did that child get into the woods?" GA says that's a question he asked so many times. GA brings up neighbor saying Casey borrowed the shovel and Cindy said she thinks that Casey did borrow the shovel but did what she said she did with the shovel (in testimony).

Phil: "You don't believe she used that shovel to dig a hole in the woods to bury her baby?" Neighbor says Casey never left home the day she borrowed the shovel, so she couldn't ahve used it to bury the baby says Cindy. Phil asks if it was suspicious and CA says no but GA says yes.

Phil playing tape of Casey saying "I know she's not far" when talking about where could Caylee be. CA: I know Casey knows where Caylee was placed. I'm not sure if she put her there by herself or if someone helped her. I was told that Caylee was found in a different spot than where Casey thought she was. And that wass another reason why she couldn't come clean because if she said Caylee drowned and she couldn't produce Caylee's body then they wouldn't believe her. GA says "If Caylee drowned, then why this elaborate cover up?"

"I believe that Casey had knowledge or had something to do with placing Caylee there. And I don't understand it. I know that 's belief that as soon as someone dies they leave the body and that was no longer Caylee. That Caylee went straight to heaven and I know that." Cindy said she would never place someone that she loved the way Casey did.

GA: "Casey had something to do with where Caylee was placed."

CA: "It breaks my heart that her body was left there that way but what were we going to do anyway? Our belief was for cremation."
Phil said "Cindy, you just said she shouldn't have put her the woods but what were we going to do anyway? That is excusing her." Phil goes on to ream Cindy for being disloyal to Caylee to not take a clear eyed view and find out what happened to her.

CA: I have to move on without (? not sure because she mumbled through that word) justifying what happened that day."
CA: "I prayed druing the whole trial that god woruld give me closure and if Casey was responsible for Caylee's death that Casey would go to jail and be punished. And when that verdict came in and Casey was free, I got my answer that it was an accident. And I believe that justice for Caylee was when her mother walked. I believe that with all my heart." (Oh boy ... wow ...)

CA: "God was her judge and He let her free."

"Was Casey disturbed?" CA: "Yes I think there's something seriously wrong with my daughter and her thought process." She goes on to say it started when she got pregnant.

There will be more but it's upcoming. Phil says we'll be shocked to hear what GA's reaction to the verdict and we'll hear their plan if Casey shows up on their porch. In a preview for upcoming show, Phil asks if Cindy purjured herself and lied. Asks Cindy if she knows 100% for sure that GA didn't molest Cindy. CA says "Casey wanted me to know how Caylee died." And then some question that nobody has thought to ask ... (yeah -- I bet someone among us came up with the question ages ago).

They didn't say when the Anthony's would be on next ... sometime soon, I'm sure.

The End. (for now ...)

I thought I heard the next episode is Monday. I was glad to see George finally say what he thought , I think he's scared of the crazy Cindy beo%$h
