Seems like there is a question about whether or not her probation from check charges should have been taken from her time served. Apparently Judge Strickland specifically mentions that probation should be served "after release" and corrections might not have been able to override that. So, should Casey be serving probation in Orlando instead of being free as a bird?

The Good Ole' Boys Network is alive and well. Funny, just five years ago the very same bar had issues with Jose and seemed to have such high standards. In reality, he was a no-name attorney that they didn't care about. Amazing how the rules change for Mason.

This entire case has made me so disappointed with all aspects of the criminal justice system. Defense lawyers that are able to make up any story they want without repercussions, a mother that can flat out lie and walks away without even a slap on the wrist, and let's not forget the 12 idiots that didn't seem to understand what their job was and didn't have enough brain cells to ask for clarification. Since it has ended there have been private jets, luxury vacations, lawyer misconduct, and talk of million dollar deals. I really do believe in karma but I am not a patient person. It will be hard watching Casey live the life of Riley for 10 or 15 years but I really feel the time will come when karma will bite her.

Okay so if we believe in Karma or the like, and everything comes to he who waits, then perhaps the lesson is bigger than we think. MAYBE the fact that this is such a high profile case that when these people fall they will fall hard and it will further one's faith in good triumphing over evil. If this were a low profile case the retribution would not be noticed by as many people.

I want to ask a question here but I am afraid it will be misconstrued as religious. So I will get around it by asking if a person commits a murder will they be forgiven if before they die they are forgiven if they receive a certain rite?

The short answer is yes. Let me know if you want the long answer.

I hope for her sake she can move on, I dont condone what she has done but she needs to heal from the tradgedy. It looks like the prosecution has put over 300 pages of stuff together for the cost. All I can say for Casey is OUCH. Dont know how she will get that much money. I am very dissappointed the bar dropped the charge against Mason, that doesnt say anything good about joining the bar. They set the standards for getting very high, and then let someone get away with that. :sad2:

Are you talking about his birdie moment?

If so, it came out that no complaint was ever filed with the bar.:confused3

I can see being upset IF it were true, but so much floated around that wasn't true, we need to separate fact from fiction.

They said on the Orlando news last night that the bar has decided NOT to take any action against Chaney Mason because the event (flipping the bird and there are documented pictures) occurred outside the courtroom after the trial was completed.

Baez suffered repercussions from the bar because he failed to pay child support and that didn't have anything to do with a trial or the courtroom.
The feeling is that lawyers are held to a high standard and they must act appropriately or risk getting disbarred. Somehow, they didn't feel CM acted inappropriately. :confused3 Different standards for different attorneys.

I know being patient is hard. We are a people who want to see it happen right away. But sometimes that just doesnt happen. I look at my own situation and think the person who did so much to , why do they get everything after all the lies they told and I have nothing. But I have to believe that it will be returned to me and they will reap what they sow. And when they do it will not be pleasant, it will hurt very badly. I dont want harm to come to them. But they will still have to reap what what they sew. Some of these jurors some day may come to the realization that the way they voted was wrong. And for now they have to live with it. But yes its hard and I understand.

OMG I cant believe the ebay mask went for $1 million... who is crazy enough to do that. On a good note, least she isnt getting any money off it :thumbsup2

Well, I don't know how that plays out, but I do know that it was ridiculous to say that she could serve her probation time while in jail. That made no sense at all.

YES but that is not what happened they did not just come in. They had the whole restaurant, there were not other customers allowed in during the time the defense was there and that they DO have control over.

exactly...and now they are trying to backtrack. Good luck with that.

Well...we don't know why they won't offer it. Maybe what Casey is willing to say wasn't worth a dime.:rotfl:

They probably realized that all they would hear are lies anyway and they don't want to pay for lies.

But isn't that indicative of everything in this case? If he were some lawyer who no one knew they would sanction him without a thought. They had the chance to make a statement and they did not. This whole case made was a travesty of justice. If you believe in karma or a higher power you have to believe that there is a reason why it looks like evil triumphed over good but darn if I can figure it out. Let's face it I am betting the bar is like every other organization a "good ol' boys club'.

:thumbsup2 for both bolded items.

interesting. Not sure how they thought she could serve probation IN jail. :confused3

One word, NO then I will emphasize it, SORRY NO....

soooooooo yesterday was July 27th - Nicoles due date.

I had been saying since she was born that i hoped that she would come home on or before her due date.

well..... she didn't come home before her due date :(
.

Kurby, somehow I missed this, the most important news, CONGRATULATIONS! Those are the most beautiful pictures, enjoy every second.. Hugs to your whole family.

OKAY just saw on the news that the Anthony's are selling Casey's car starting price is 5000.00. Seriously? Really? I had put these people on the moral ladder right above call girls and their bosses(do not want to use the correct words but you all know them) but now they have actually sunk below and possibly reached the level of hit men.

They are disgusting. I am starting to think RC was too good for George. Don't tell me, they will donate the money to the foundation the GAC foundation!

That is so disgusting I'd have had the car crushed in a heartbeat... Nobody should profit off this. It's just disgusting. A car that is worth essentially nothing starting at a price of 5K why is that?

I like that. I hope that it works, and she has to come back and sit her tail in Orange County for a year. It may not be much compared to what she should have gotten, but at this point it's sure better than nothing.

That was my take on it too. The car is obviously worth very little. The very fact that they're starting the price at $5000 indicates that they're trying to take advantage of the notoriety.

I can see it now - But Jose cant you hide me in Cinderella's Castle? They'll never find me there :rotfl2:
