you can request Jamaica while making your reservations. I never had a problem with getting a smoking room. Just be aware that the bridge is an arching, not straight. By the end of the trip, my shins were hurting me from going over it. I learned to walk on it differently and I went over it quite a few times during the day. Good luck, you will enjoy it.

This year we are trying BWI for the first time, it was very hard for me to switch from CBR because I absolutely love it, but my DH wanted to try BWI and I, though hate change, decided why not.

My sister booked CBR because when we were there in 2002, we split a stay between CBR and AKL, but she just stayed at AKL the whole trip, well, when she visited us at CBR she fell in love with it and so wanted to go there this year. When we told her kids we were all going to WDW they were thrilled, until they found out we were staying at BWI. So, I am happy to report that my nieces convinced my DH to stay at CBR too, so now we are all splitting the stay, 7 nights BWI and 3 nights CBR. I am getting the best of both worlds and I couldn't be happier! I haven't been to CBR since 2002, we were there in the last week before they closed to refurbish the food court so I am looking forward to seeing the changes.

I am also happy because I bought a new 5.1 MP digital camera and will be able to take better CBR photos for all of us!

Hi Safetymom,

I was wondering if you had ever stayed at Port Orleans and/or The Swan? The reason that I am asking is I am trying to think out my honeymoon for next year and hopefull plan this coming October for next October.

Anyway, although I have been thinking about Port Orleans and The Swan but not I am even considering the CBR, the only thing is I can't place exactly where the CBR is? The reason that I like the Swan is because it is so close to Epcot and MGM and you can walk to either one from what I understand.

If you have stayed at the others, may I email you with more specific question?

CBR is practically across the street from the BW. You can't walk to Epcot or MGM from CBR, but it is still very close and CBR has pretty decent bus service. The Swan and Dolphin share bus service with BC/YC/BCV and BW/BWV. I have stayed at YC and sometimes the buses were a pain because of that sharing. The walk to Epcot and MGM is ok though.

I'm not so sure that I would walk to BW from CBR- that road is pretty busy (and dangerous)-I'm not sure that it even has a sidewalk(?).

As far as the Epcot resorts-We love them-wouldn't stay anywhere else. You can walk to MGM (15-20 mins), Epcot's International Gateway (10 mins) or take a Friendship boat to either. The BW is great in the late afternoon/evening. plenty of free entertainment and lots going on. Restaurants are great-lots to choose from.

so what is your favorite part of CBR or your favorite thing to do there? what is it that draws you back time and again?

as you can see, it's getting close for me and i can't wait!

It's the feeling of escaping from the world when I stay at CBR. From the beautiful landscaping, the music, the lake it is a break from reality.

Safetymom..ive been reading a thread on the disney resorts about Disney introducing free fridges to their moderate resort rooms. Is this true and if it is am I likely to get one in November?
I would love to have a fridge in my room but I really cant see myself paying to have one.

I have heard that here on the DIS. I don't know for sure if they are installing them. Guess we will all have to stay tuned.

on another board i go to, a front desk cm from cbr says they will be starting to install the fridges there right away! I wasn't going to rent a fridge this time, but it sure will come in handy

Does anyone know WHEN they will be installing these fridges? I will be at the CBR 8/29 - 9/3, just wondering if they will have them at that time.

I haven't seen it officially that they are doing this but if they are I think the end of the month is a little soon to expect to have one.

yup i'm refering to kelly lol i had read that they were starting to install 8/16 but i'm not sure if that's true or not.
