I explained to the CM when I called to pay off my trip a few weeks ago. That we needed ground level room since my moms scooter won't be able to go up the steps. She said I should call CBR direct and let them know. I think she said a week before. Because they start to work on room assignments for guests.

I'm sure I won't have a problem finding the proper room. The resort is huge. And if we don't get TN maybe we will get another building that's somewhat close. Hoping for some pixie dust !

Friends of ours were talking to a phone CM about switching from preferred to standard for their trip the end of July. The CM stated he could see that the refurb is starting in the Preferred buildings and they would have a very good chance of getting a refurbed room if they switched to preferred. We all know how the phone CMs information can be, but I thought it was interesting.

It is interesting. I wonder if they are just telling people that to get them to book preferred? Like you said, too, we all know how "informed" the phone CMs are.

I called just last week to add a few days to our stay in Sept/Oct and asked about the refurb. She said she didn't have anything listed and even put me on hold to ask her manager! She came back and stated that CBR is not scheduled for a refurb. Crazy!!!

Same happened to me when I switched last week from POR to CBR. First she warned me they had double beds instead of Queen, and when I said that was fine, and I had heard there was a refurb starting anyway, she said she didn't know anything about it.

Then she called Guest Services, who said they knew nothing about it.

Then she called the hotel, who said it was just a rumour.

I don't really care, since I want to stay at CBR anyway...but there's so much information BOTH ways going on!

Given the fact that permits have been filed and I was told by the higher-up at the resort that the refurb is a go, I'm going to bet a dollar or two that it's going to happen. It's funny how us Disers know more than the actual castmembers.

I'm here at CBR now. We are staying in Jamaica and haven't seen any signs of work being done anywhere around the resort yet. We're here until Saturday so maybe we'll see something this week.

Yes, this!! We love CBR, and really wish we could put all 5 of us in a room there! The last couple of years our family has enjoyed the Polynesian, but it's so pricey and we're not real happy about the changes being made over there , so would love to come back to CBR. Here's hoping for that refurb to up the room capacity to five

Keeping my fingers crossed for you two (and for others that need to have 5 in a room). With the rooms at the CBR being larger than the other moderates, there's definitely room to add in the extra bed/pull down/trundle to accommodate 5 people.

It's sad that a lot of the CMs don't even know what's going on at WDW and the people here on the Dis do. Thank goodness for all of us Disers who can keep each other informed.

Hi all,

I'm tagging along, watching to see what info leaks through for the refurb. We've stayed at Coronado that last 2 years, mainly because of the queen beds. I know Port Orleans RS and FQ have queens, but the resort pics just don't do it for me. I've been dying to stay at CBR for a bit now, but the dbl beds would definitely be an issue for us.

There will be 2 adults and an 8 and 9 yr old (dh and I apparently make big kids!)
So my question regardless of bed size, is can we rent a cot for our stay?

Another idea being we get a king bed, and get 2 cots, would they allow that?

It's our 10 yr anniversary in Oct, we were going to go to NYC just us, no kids, but a year without DW is blah blah blah, especially after such a LONG winter up in Atlantic Canada. Be nice to have a vacation to plan, and if we do go down, we are keeping it a secret from the kids until the morning of!! It'd be there 6th trip there in their short lives, and we've never surprised them. They are missing it as much as we are right about now. CBR would be a great change surprise for everyone too!! Especially the pool area

That is why I need a refurb! The youngest just turned 3 so we can't all stay there without splitting up into 2 rooms, which gets pricey
