Anyone have a map of the resort with room type and layout. I have seen this type of map for some of the value resorts but not the CBR. I am trying to find out where all of the King Rooms that are not handicap and do not have a connecting door are. We booked a king room, but want a bathtub, and do not want a connecting door. Thanks for any help.

Gosh I'm rusty LOL I used to post here ALL the time but I knew I wouldn't be able to go to Disney for a few years because we bought a house ... BUT we are going this August! If I have to turn 40 I might as well do it at the Happiest Place on Earth! We will be staying at CBR for the first time. We have stayed at Port Orleans twice, Music once and Movies once. I'm looking forward to the Moderate resort again this time :cool1:

For those of you who stay until park closing, do you find the bus stops to be crazy crowded? We stayed at Pop one September and the lines to catch a bus at night were terrible! Our last few trips were to POFQ - small resort, very small lines. I am trying to prepare for our first stay at CBR!!!!

I am sorry...I am sure the answer is in here somewhere, but I do not have time to look. My DH has changed his mind and now wants me to make our reservations (tomorrow am) for September at POP instead of CBR....where I have my heart set on staying. I am trying to talk him back into a moderate and need the room size for this resort. Anyone know off the top of their heads an approximate size?

CBR's rooms are 344 sq ft, the largest of the moderates. :goodvibes

We always stay in the parks until closing but we like to wait at least 30 minutes to an hour after closing before heading to the bus stop. The few times that we didn't wait, the lines were pretty long. That being said, the lines for the other resort buses were long too.

Hi everyone,

Well I thought it would be nice to write a review while it is still fresh in my head. We arrived in Orlando on Sunday, April 25 and came back home on Friday, April 30, 2010. I had the most fantastic time and the CRB was wonderful. Only once did it rain and that was on Sunday night from 7pm to around 1 am. I have never encountered such lightning and thunder. For five hours straight it thunder and lighting with out a break in between. When I opened the door on Monday morning you could not tell a storm even happened.

We arrived by Magical Express at 10:15 am (we had a 6:30 am flight out of Buffalo, NY) and our room was not ready yet so we went to OPR for Breakfast and then to the Pool. Breakfast was mobbed but we muddled through our first dining plan counter service and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was very nice and my kids Roselyn (6 yrs old) and John (5 yrs old) were in love with the water slides and the pirate pool area. The weather was in the low to mid eighties every day and the water was very warm. We went to the main pool, which was closer than the island pool four times in total. Only once was it so busy we had trouble finding two lounges together. The Banana Cabana is very close but we did not order anything from there so I can’t comment.

Around noon I received a text that the room was ready and we headed off to Trinidad North to room 3112. This was a bonus upgrade, because we paid for a standard room and received a preferred. The only request I made was to be as far away from the smoking courtyard due to John’s asthma. The location was fabulous, about a three minute walk to OPR and one minute walk to the bus stop. It was a corner room so we had two windows. The last time we were at Disney and stayed at POP Century which we liked a lot. But, I have to say, staying in a more spacious room with two sinks is very nice for four people. That and the free fridge are awesome. No issues with a/c or the fridge, in fact the fridge froze our water bottles in the back... It was clean and there was not a mold issue because mold is a trigger for John’s asthma and he did not need his nebulizer the entire trip. The room location was very quiet and I heard no noise from above or next to us. Once I heard a toilet flush but I was at the sink and it was very faint.

The busing system is very doable and convenient. We did the internal bus twice. On Sunday evening at about 7pm, my husband (Kevin) took it to Custom house to get our carry on in the pouring rain. It took about an hour for the round trip bus and for Bell services to find the luggage. From what Kevin said they were in no hurry and did not accept a tip even though he did try to give it to the man. The second time was when I went on the final day to pay our room charges. Again, it took about an hour for the round trip (5 stops). They DO NOT allow major luggage on the internal bus and the information is announce at Check-in, a sign at the bus and in your room. So please do not get huffy if your bus driver enforces the rule. There was a family that wanted to get on with 6 suitcases, a stroller and carry on's. The bus driver made an exception but the women was very B****y and screamed she would never stay at CBR because of it. I secretly (or maybe not now) wish she did enforce the rule. Oh well, please READ the litature provided!!!

Amusement park bus system had no problems. Epcot and Hollywood Studios took at most 10 minutes. Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom took about 20 minutes. Down Town Disney also took about 30 minutes with two stops at DTD. Once, it was standing room only going to MK at 8:30 am but another bus pulled up so the people that were boarding were able to get onto that bus. Another time was coming back from MK after the night parade. I was expecting that and didn’t have a problem either time. All other times we were able to get seats. For MK, Epcot, and HS the stops were Jamaica, Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, OPR, Trinidad North and last Trinidad South. And coming back it was usually, Jamaica, Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, OPR Trinidad North and last Trinidad South. Maybe twice it was a different run but I can’t remember the particular route. And since Epcot is closer than MK we did see that bus more that any other. Again, it’s because it is so close they probably were able to do the route in half the time of the MK bus. We would come back to the hotel between 1 and 5 in the afternoon and it would only be half full.

Concierge was very nice. We flew Southwest, so I had to get my boarding passes 24 hours ahead, and there were two at the desk. I stood to the side and they told me when it was 4:27pm, took my confirmation number and punched in all the data. Bam, done!! Very pleasant!!

The food court met our needs but was nothing fancy and it is small for the size of our resort. One day they had a made to order omelet station and it was very tasty. We only had three meals there and we did not get the refillable mugs because we are not soda drinkers.

The gift shop is nice and your can get just about anything there. Roselyn did have her hair wrapped by the pool and it cost $23. It is a little pricey but it was vacation. We walked through the Castaway Cay (?) to get to Jamaica’s beach and play ground. That was a nice stroll.

Well, I think that is everything that I encountered. I would definitely stay there again. But since the kids will be older I may pay for the preferred section since it is so close to OPR.

mom2rose&john: Thanks for the great review. It's always nice to hear that someone got some extra pixie dust with a free room upgrade. I like that you posted information about the bus service because there's a lot of folks out there who wonder.

Thanks for the review, Ann Marie. You were able to do online check in right at the CBR for your flight home?

Also, I'm not quite sure I am understanding your luggage issue? Couldn't you just call to baggage services and they come and pick them up and bring them to airline check in? We are used to staying at the Poly but want to try CBR. The Poly is so convenient. When it was time to go - we just called baggage servcies, they picked up our luggage. I walked down with them. Checked in and was able to check in for our flights too. I want to make sure I can still do that at our next resort.

We were able to do online check in right from the concierge desk at OPR too.

Yes, you can call Bell Services to take care of your luggage at CBR. We have done this both times we have stayed there. Very convenient! :goodvibes

Does CBR now have resort airline check-in? Or will they in August?

I am curious about this too...we are flying Southwest in September and I read this Disney press release dated 4/7/10:

"Since March 9, Resort Airline Check-In with Southwest Airlines has been gradually rolled out to all but two Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, culminating with the addition of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa the week of April 6.

Upon completion of a construction project at Disney’s Old Key West Resort and an assessment at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Resort Airline Check-In with Southwest Airlines should be available at every Walt Disney World Resort hotel by the end of 2010."

We flew Southwest and Disney does not have resort luggage check in with them. We had to call Bell Services who took our luggage to the Custom House. When we arrived at Custom House. We requested our bags and loaded them onto the ME Bus ourselves. Also with Southwest you can get your boarding passes and number 24 hours before your flight. I was able to go to concierge at OPR who entered my flight confirmation number and printed out the boarding pass.

The luggage issue was with a person who did not read (or chose to ignore) that luggage is not allowed on the internal bus. When you are check out, you call Bell Services (preferably the day before check out) and arrange to have them take your luggage to the custom house at a certain time. The person did not "realize" this even though it is told to you at check in and there is information about luggage not being allowed on the internal bus in the room. She became verbally abusive to the internal bus driver who made an exception for her and didn't deserve the language that the guest was directing toward her.

This will be my son and my 5th trip to Disney but our first time staying at CBR. (my hubby stays home - he doesn't feel the Disney magic :confused3) I have a few quick questions:

Has anyone taken a towncar from the airport with grocery store stop and did you think it was worth it?

Alternately has anyone used garden grocer?

Finally, on the size of the fridge, my DS 14 drinks TONS of milk - anyone know what size milk I could fit in the fridge? Gallon? 2 Half Gallons? More? On the average week at home he goes through 2 gallons of milk on his own so I'd love to be able to find a way to get at least a gallon of milk in the fridge.

Thanks!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you for the lovely review...Im so excited now..we leave this Saturday..only 5 sleeps to go!! This will be our first time at CBR...cant wait!!!:woohoo:

We drive so I can't give you any tips on a towncar. I have used Garden Grocer and was very pleased with their service. We placed an order about a week and a half or maybe two weeks ahead of time. They called us while we were still on the road (we were delayed because of an accident) and asked if we had checked in yet. When I told them no, they left the items with Bell Services who kept our items cold. Once we were in our room, Bell Services delivered everything right to our room.

The fridges will hold at least 2 half gallons and maybe even three. I have pictures of the fridge with stuff in it somewhere. If I find them, I'll post them for you.

yes - thanks for the review - very helpful

I'm still torn on the grocery thing. We wont have a car so we would need it delivered. I am thinking we wont be in our room much and my kids are packing snacks in their backpacks - pop tarts, teddy grahams etc.

the rooms at POP are 260 sqare feet...the rooms at CBR are 314 square feet...hope this helps

No, CBR's rooms are 340 sq. ft. almost a 100 sq. ft. more than POP!!! They are the largest Mod. on site, they are bigger than POFQ, POR and CSR!!!
