We booked arabian nights dinner show for an 830pm show. Its just my DD11 and myself.Any suggestions on the best way to get there from CBR. We will not have a car.IF we need to take a cab,how easy is that to do?Its been years since taking a cab!I thought I booked a 6 pm show but didnt.Do you think its safe to leave at like 11pm to return to CBR?

Getting more and more excited about CBR! Quick question about my room...

We booked a preferred room, which I know is either Martinique or Trinidad North. But do you think one of these buildings is better than the other? Should I further specify my request? Martinique looks like a better location on the map...but I have no idea. :confused3

Thanks for the help! :goodvibes

EDIT: One more question, actually... is Shutters a restaurant I would need to make a reservation for, or are you generally okay walking up? It seems like a restaurant we might like to try out one night but I wouldn't want to book in advance/plan an evening around it.

Does anyone know if the food court at CBR has tres leches? I see that Shutters has it, but I don't think we'll be at the resort during their dining hours. (We usually get back pretty late.) Thanx!

does anyone have pictures of Jamaica & Aruba buildings ? thanks...
also, how many floors do the buildings have? and do they have elevators?:confused3

Hi Everyone - We are thinking of switching our reservations from POFQ to CBR b/c I've read how so many families love the resort. We love POFQ, but have stayed there the last two times and thought it would be nice to try someplace we haven't stayed before.

I have some questions I hope you can help me with.

Is there a certain building or area I should request? I read one post where someone mentioned paying for *preferred*. What does that mean and how much more is it?

One thing I am worried about is the size of CBR. How far are most rooms from the restaurants/pool/bus stops?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but wanted to start with these. Thanks so much for any help/advice. My oldest son saw the photos of the pirate pool area and is begging to stay there now. :)

Here is a CBR map ~ http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/cbrmap.htm

Preferred rooms are in Martinique 24, 25, 26 and Trinidad North 31, 32, 33. Putting you right on either side of Old Port Royale. (food court, main pool, children's pool, restaurant, marina, gift shops, concierge desk) They cost extra per night. $25 I think.

All of Trinidad South are POTC rooms. They also cost extra. TS is the furthest section out, at about a 7-8 minute walk to OPR.

Each village has it's own bus stop and quiet pool. So you are always very close to those things!

We have stayed in a standard room location both times we have stayed there. Once in Aruba. Once in Jamaica. Both times we were under a 5 minute walk to OPR and our bus stop.

The new pools are awesome! I'm sure your DS, as well as the whole family, would love them! pirate:

Hope that helps!:goodvibes

We are taking our first family trip to WDW in September for DD's 5th birthday and are staying at CBR! DD loves the beach, so I thought CBR was a great choice:) I have a quick question for all of you CBR experts!! Our flight arrives in Orlando at 1:45pm and we are using ME. What time should we get to our resort? We have an ADR at 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian) at 5:00pm What is the best way to get there? Bus to Magic Kingdom and then monorail to GF? I would honestly rather just pay for a cab than do all that, but our kids will be 5 and 1 and we won't have any car seats with us. I'd love advice on what's best!!

Also, our flight leaves at 4pm...am I right that CBR isn't set-up yet for the checking bags (what it's called) for Southwest flights? I'm planning to hit a park that morning for a few hours, have lunch (maybe back at CBR?) and then heading out on ME for MCO...they pick you up 3 hours before, right? How long does it take on the buses midday from MK to CBR?

TIA!!

In our experience it takes about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours from the time you get off the plane to the time you get to your resort. But I suppose it could be busier at times. . .

Yes, to get to the GF from CBR you would need to take the MK bus, then the monorail (or ferryboat). I would leave about 45 minutes to 1 hour before your ADR.

If your flight is at 4:00, your ME pick up will likely be around 1:00. I'm not sure about the SW baggage thing. . .

The actual bus ride from MK to CBR is 11 minutes. But you will need to allow time for waiting on a bus (which should be 20 min or less, but always allow for more just to be safe). . . I would leave MK at least an hour to an hour and a half before your ME pick up just to be safe.

Food in Grab and Go Market during Breakfast hours. For lunch and dinner they have cupcakes and cookies in case.

Great pics SafetyMom! Thanks for sharing! Do you know if the food court has tres leches for dessert? (I see that Shutters has it, but we won't be able to make it to Shutters for dinner.) Also, do they have sandwiches that we could pack for a water park lunch? Thanks!!!
I can't believe that we'll be there in 2 weeks! :goodvibes

Thanks, Kathy! Great pics, as always! We're getting close to our trip...I'm ready for school to be over and for it to be here! :goodvibes

I am sorry...I am sure the answer is in here somewhere, but I do not have time to look. My DH has changed his mind and now wants me to make our reservations (tomorrow am) for September at POP instead of CBR....where I have my heart set on staying. I am trying to talk him back into a moderate and need the room size for this resort. Anyone know off the top of their heads an approximate size?

can anyone tell me what order the busses run? do they pic up first at some spots for different parks?
