My husband told me he had booked the Pop Century. We have gone there the 2 times we went to Disney 2006 & 2008. We loved it. DH decided to surprise us and booked Carribean Beach because it isn't much more at all because it gets free dining and we were going to upgrade to Regular Dining instead of the Quick Service at Pop.

It looks beautiful I really hope we like it there. :wizard:

We are doing the same thing 2crazy4disney, we stayed at Pop the last two times and picked CBR because it looked nice and the free dining of course. I hope we like it.:)

Hey everyone... just wanted to thank you all again for awesome feedback and question answering over the past few months. We leave for the airport (then onto CBR!) in about an hour. I've been up since 3am I'm just too excited to sleep!

I will be back on the 12th with tons and tons of pictures and a very awesome review I'm sure! :)

Have a magical, relaxing time! :thumbsup2

No, CBR's rooms are 340 sq. ft. almost a 100 sq. ft. more than POP!!! They are the largest Mod. on site, they are bigger than POFQ, POR and CSR!!!

Everyone on the DIS says that CBR rooms are 340 sq ft... why do all the books say 314?!? :confused3 (BTW... I believe you guys!)

Yesterday I booked CBR for free dining (upgraded from Pop :cool1:) and requested Aruba, 1st floor somewhere.

Anyone stay in that particular village? I'm pretty encouraged in its location, almost exactly in the middle of the check-in building and OPR.

What is on that little island in the middle of the lake?

Anything else I need to know?? Is the A/C on a sensor like CSR? I saw that it was a wall unit, but wasn't sure if it was pre-set.

TIA!

P.S. - Thanks for all of the great photos! It's really helped me get a feel for CBR. I'm leery - I'm a CSR nut, but I'm giving CBR my full attention!

We flew Southwest and Disney does not have resort luggage check in with them. We had to call Bell Services who took our luggage to the Custom House. When we arrived at Custom House. We requested our bags and loaded them onto the ME Bus ourselves. Also with Southwest you can get your boarding passes and number 24 hours before your flight. I was able to go to concierge at OPR who entered my flight confirmation number and printed out the boarding pass.

directing toward her.

Thats not true. I guess not all resorts have it with them, but I do Know Pop does.

YAYYY!!! After many months of studying the moderates, I had finally decided on CBR for our Sept. trip but at the last minute my DH changed his mind and wanted to stay at POP. I was disappointed but $300 is a lot of money for the upgrade so I understood...kinda. I laid out my argument for CBR again last night, and thanks to Momof2disneyboys, who sent me some helpful info, he agreed to look at the pictures and info of CBR and he LOVED it. I changed our reservation from POP to CBR this am. :cool1:

VERY EXCITED!!:banana::banana:

This will be my son and my 5th trip to Disney but our first time staying at CBR. (my hubby stays home - he doesn't feel the Disney magic :confused3) I have a few quick questions:

Has anyone taken a towncar from the airport with grocery store stop and did you think it was worth it?

Alternately has anyone used garden grocer?

Finally, on the size of the fridge, my DS 14 drinks TONS of milk - anyone know what size milk I could fit in the fridge? Gallon? 2 Half Gallons? More? On the average week at home he goes through 2 gallons of milk on his own so I'd love to be able to find a way to get at least a gallon of milk in the fridge.

Thanks!!! :thumbsup2

We always use Tiffany Towncar and I highly recommend them. Although we do not do a grocery stop, they always ask if we want to make one (included in the price). I agree with the PP who said at least 2 gallons of milk will fit.

I've taken a town car from the train station. With only the two of you, it would be more cost effective to take ME and use Garden Grocer or WeGoShop.

What's the difference between preferred and standard? Sorry if this has been asked before, but I need to know soon so I can book a room only.
TIA!

Does that pirate ship play area at the pool have one of those big buckets that dumps water randomly? Is there any noise or anything to signal that it's about to dump?

I ask because when we stayed at a hotel/indoor water park that had one of those, my littlest one HATED IT! She screamed bloody murder and refused to step foot in the pool for the rest of our stay.

Preferred guarantees you a room right on either side of OPR. Very close.

Yes, there is a tipping bucket. There is a sound to let you know it is coming. I don't remember what it is exactly, but I do remember a warning.

Preferred room locations are in Martinique and Trinidad North. These two villages are located on each side of Old Port Royale. Standard rooms are in all other villages (with the exception of Trinidad South where the pirate rooms are located). Not all of Martinique is preferred.

For the person asking about milk, we were able to fit 3 half gallons of milk on our fridge door with no problems.

We have used garden grocer before and it was well worth it in just the money we saved on a case of water alone.

For the person asking about the dumping bucket, there is a bell that rings about 5 seconds before the bucket dumps. Also it is a good few mins between dumps so your daughter should be able to get a few slide runs in between dumps.

Do you think it would be better to check in online before we go or wait till we get there...we really want a corner room..last time we made requests for POP we checked in beforehand, the queue was longer at our counter and we never got our request..just wondering if any system helps my chances any better in your opinion?

We'll be there in a month for a surprise weekend visit, and I have read most of this thread. We've requested pirate rooms ( which I read is far from front desk check in) will they deliver our bags for us? Do we walk or can we take a bus from the front desk to our rooms? TIA

After you've checked in, you can stop at the Bell Services desk just outside the Custom House (where you check-in) and ask that they take you and your luggage to your building.

Thanks.. We are using Magical Express. So for our return trip to the airport will Bell Services come pick up our luagge from our room to take to airline check in? Thanks again
