Caribbean Beach FAQ Part IV

I remember that stupid ferry boat ride well. Back in the day when we stayed offsite, we didnt' mind it too much. But, we also didn't know any better. After that first bus ride from the CBR to the MK, I declared to never stay offsite again. I also hated getting on the trams from the parking lots to the parks.

ohhh - forgot about the trams. I think I am going to like staying on property. My mom used to work for Sheraton so we always stayed at The Vistana- has kitchens and washers and dryers. If i'm now going to pay full price might as well stay on property:cool1:

Call me weird but I love gettin' on a Disney bus and lettin' them do the drivin' for me! Forget those days of staying offsite.

Oh you and me both!!!

We live in Williamsburg, VA and we have these buses that are shaped alot like the Disney buses, anyway they move tourists around town from their hotels to the Colonial Area and Busch Gardens, and everytime we see 1, we all say, "Wish it was a Disney Bus!!!" and the closer it gets to our trip, we just all stare and talk about how much longer it is until we are on 1!!!!!

Me too!!!!

:woohoo:

My 76 year old mother is going to Disney with us this year. The last time she went (2000), we stayed offsite and had to take the trams and the ferry boat. She's going to love being able to take a bus and being dropped off right near the entrance. Can't wait to introduce her to one of the "real" Disney experiences.....the buses.

34 days til our stay at CBR...

Getting ready to send in that room request, do you still fax it in? If so, anyone have that fax # handy? (Haven't done this since last year) - - or how/where do you send it? Still two weeks ahead of time or what is the suggested time frame?

From everything that I've read on the Disboards (not just about the CBR), faxes aren't the way to make requests any more. I would call about a week before our arrival date and make sure they have your requests noted on your reservation.

I'll second this since we put our room request on our reservation last year and we were even upgraded to Martinique 26!

We have a long way to go until it's our turn at CBR but I'm trying to decide between a Pirate room or one in a Preferred location. The kids like pirates but aren't super obsessed with then or anything. I think that money might be better spent on a nicer room location. Anyone else trying to make the same decision?

Go for the closer location especially if you plan to use the main pool, have refill mugs or use the food court for dining.

We drive to Disney every year and will be doing so again this year. Last year, all of our luggage fit nicely in the car. But, when it came time to pack everything back into the car and go home, we were barely able to make everything fit. See.......we like to buy lots of stuff while at Disney.

I've read a lot about people shipping a box to their resort but nothing about people shipping a box from their resort back home. Anyone know if there's a place at the CBR to do this?

I'm trying to plan ahead just in case I buy too much stuff again. Heck, who am I kidding? I know I'll buy too much stuff again.

Thanks in advance!

Yes in the gift shop at the food court of Old Port Royale (Calypso Straw Market I believe) you can have them ship it for you. While I was there we ended up buying my daughters one of those Cinderella play castles for their Birthday and the CM there asked me where I would like it shipped. We ended up driving so we didn't need the package shipped, and managed to get it all the way home without them noticing it :)

also, we have purchased garden decorations in the land pavilion at Epcot and had those shipped home in the past. I believe it took a few weeks to get there though.

Do you call the main Disney reservations line or the hotel directly???

Thanks guys! :goodvibes

You can the main Disney reservations number. If you call the resort it goes to a call center that answers as the resort.

For anyone who's been there recently, have they changed the mugs yet? I'm leaving in 13 days and I'd like to know if I'm getting a new design, or the same one from last summer. Thanks!

No the mugs have not changed if you got the one where the design goes further down the mug.
