How are the bus service at CBR in September?

I've been hearing some horror stories about how long the buses take, and how busy the buses can be. :confused3

Thanks Safetymom for the site map of CBR, Staying for 14 night on April 23, can't wait first time at CBR

We have finally made our decision. The choices were between CBR and CSR.

We decided that we are going to be staying at CBR. We plan on booking as soon as the free dining plan is made available.

Caribbean Beach Resort here we come!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

We just got back from our 7 day stay at the CBR. We were in the pirate rooms and we were very pleased. We have always had great stays at CBR and that's why it is always our resort of choice!

Glad you liked the pirate rooms and had a great stay!!

We loved the rooms, too - I guess so much so that we didn't notice the mattresses that some talk about, lol. Did you notice them? I seriously didn't even realize it until I read about it here several months after we stayed there, lol.

Now I will say that the mattresses were a little hard and uncomfortable for me. However after the crazy days at the parks, we just kind of collapsed any way!

we just got back last night from 5 days at CBR. The buses were great. Never waited long at all for one to come and they were not any more crowded than the buses at other resorts.

Also the multiple stops was really not a big deal. The bus just stops for a minute or two and moves on.

Hope that helps! ;)

Thanks for the info. I'm getting really excited about CBR, I can't wait.

Cheers!

So excited about trying out CBR!!!! Hoping that RAC is up and running there when it is time to return home!!!

I am planning our first family trip to Disney for 2011 and we are set on CBR! This thread has been amazing with helping me feel comfortable with my decision to stay here. :goodvibes My parents would take us to Disney every year but I remember staying a All Star Music and some of the Deluxe resorts. I wanted to do something different with my family and still be within our budget and I am so happy that CBR is possible. I fell in love with the pirate rooms and was a little disappointed with how far away from the main building it is. I will be traveling with a 4 year old and a 1 year old. I am hoping it won't be that big of a problem. I can't make reservations till Jan because we are planning our trip for Dec 2011. But I can't help trying to get all the information now. hehe Thank you all for helping! I am really excited and miss Disney so much! This will be my first time back there in 4 years after living right behind the Magic Kingdom for 2 years.

Congrats on your decision! I wouldn't worry too much about the walking distance from the pirate rooms to Old Port Royale. I timed my walk from Trinidad South to Old Port Royale and it took me about 6 1/2 minutes at a leisurely pace. I am sure with little ones, you'll be walking a bit slower but, still, it's not that bad.

Actually, you should be able to make your December, 2011 reservations mid-August, 2010. That's when the 2011 rates will be published. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I did read on the moms panel that we could book our rooms 499 day out but that package rates won't be available till January. Can we book our room and then add on the package in January? I know we are wanting to do the dining plan.

We are also going to have our double umbrella stroller with us, do many parent use those around the resort?

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I think you can book your package as soon as the rates come out in August, 2010. I always book our vacations (which are in either May or August) as soon as the rates are published meaning I book almost a year in advance.

If you book a room only now, you'll have to actually cancel the reservation and rebook a package when the rates come out. You can't simply change from a room only to a package.

I have seen people at the CBR (and the parks) with double strollers. Just be aware that you'll have to fold them up before getting in the buses.

Is it really far from the pirate rooms to the main pool and food court.
I was going to do the preferred but I think ds 6 would love the pirate theme.pirate: I am going to be walking with a 2 year old in stroller, 6 year old and nine year old. We plan on having pool breaks everyday and a couple of resort days.
We stayed at the Pop five years ago. Is the walk any further than those rooms. We were not in preferred.
on a side note is the pirate curtain scary at night?:scared1:
Can a porta crib fit in the bathroom area?
Thank you!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I timed my walk from Trinidad South (I went over to have a look around since I hadn't seen the pirate rooms yet.) back to Old Port Royale and it took me 6 1/2 minutes at a leisurely pace. It will probably take you a little longer if you have little ones in tow but not much longer.

I have seen pictures of the pirate curtain when it's closed and it didn't look too scary to me but, then again, I love me some pirates.:thumbsup2

There should be enough room to put a porta crib in the sink/closet area. I read that's what others have done.
