Actually, you should be able to make your December, 2011 reservations mid-August, 2010. That's when the 2011 rates will be published. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Thank you for this! I wasn't aware either when we could make 2011 reservations. We're going October 2011 and staying at CBR. 2011 seem so far away though. :sad1:

You're welcome! I often say that the Disboards and pictures are what keep me sane until my next Disney vacation!:rotfl:

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I think you can book your package as soon as the rates come out in August, 2010. I always book our vacations (which are in either May or August) as soon as the rates are published meaning I book almost a year in advance.

If you book a room only now, you'll have to actually cancel the reservation and rebook a package when the rates come out. You can't simply change from a room only to a package.

I have seen people at the CBR (and the parks) with double strollers. Just be aware that you'll have to fold them up before getting in the buses.

Thank you again! I will keep a look out this summer for when the prices come out and see if I can book everything then.

I remember being on the buses and all the people with there folded strollers. I am thinking an umbrella stroller will be easier to fold up and take up less space then my full size double stroller.

Also I remember seeing picture of a mini-fridge in the Nemo rooms but didn't see if there was one in the Pirate rooms. Do you know if the Pirate rooms also have the mini-fridge?

Yep, there's one in what looks like a barrell.

The preferred locations are Trinidad North Bldgs. 31, 32 and 33 and Martinique Bldgs. 24, 25 and 26.

Thanks! I'm considering a solo trip to CBR, so I'd want to stay close to the main building (Port Royale?) I saw somewhere that it was Trinidad & Martinique, but from the map I figured it must be only certain buildings. Helps a lot! :goodvibes

We will be there 6/11-6/18 and I would like to know what building I should request for my DH, DD4, DD6, and myself. We will not be using the food court much, but will want to use the main pool. I am not sure whether we will have a stroller along. What "village" would people recommend? Thanks.

The main pool and the food court are in the same complex, called Old Port Royale.

If you did NOT book a preferred location room, then the 3 closest buildings to Old Port Royale are Martinique 22, Aruba 51 and Jamaica 45.

we will be at CBR in May - booked a pirate room pirate:

How long are the bus rides to the parks?

One morning we are going to Chef Mickeys- need to be there by 8:45.

I am getting excited:yay: - we have not been to Disney in 6 years. My son doesn't even remember it.

I am tempted by Jamaica. I hear it is good bus-wise. Any opinions on this location overall?

we stayed in Jamaica at the beginning of the month and it was a great location. Short walk across a bridge to get to old port royale. Buses were usually empty when they pulled up. We were usually one of the last stops dropping off so after a long day that was the only real downside. Pool and playground were literally outside of our building. Bus stop was a quick walk as well. I think we stayed in bulding 44. We are going back in April and it seems through online check-in we were upgraded to a pirate-water view. Not sure how I feel about it since Trinidad South seemed so isolated from everything else.

The bus rides to the parks vary, depending on which park.

To make CM by 8:45, I'd leave CBR at 7:30-7:45 probably, to allow for bus travel to MK and then either a bus or walk or monorail to the Contemporary. You can always check-in at CM early, and then go back outside (backside - lakeside) for some great pics! :thumbsup2

thanks for the picture tip. Never did that and we have been to Chef Mickeys a few times.

Once the bus leaves the resort (it takes about 7-8 minutes to make all the stops within the resort, if you happen to get on at the very first stop) it takes 3 minutes to get to DHS, 5 to Epcot, 9 to DTD, and 11 to MK & AK. Yes, I timed it!! :goodvibes

Have a great trip! pirate:

wow - much better than I thought! thanks!

now - does the bus take you directly to each park or do you need to do something else?

MK- I remember taking a boat. Do you need to do that or does the bus just drop you off at the "door" ?

Not Momof 2 but a CBR lover who can answer your question. The buses will take you directly to each theme park. I especially love the fact that you get to bypass the ferry boat or monorail and are dropped off very near the Magic Kingdom entrance!

you do not need to do anything else...the bus for the MK drops you off right at the gate. You only need to take the monorail or ferry if you are parking a car at the ticket and transportation center.

I remember that stupid ferry boat ride well. Back in the day when we stayed offsite, we didnt' mind it too much. But, we also didn't know any better. After that first bus ride from the CBR to the MK, I declared to never stay offsite again. I also hated getting on the trams from the parking lots to the parks.
