Just wanted to pass this cutting tip info on to all you Cards and Pockets girls. I am in the process of making 60 invitation for our November wedding. Each invitation will have 5 inserts in the pocket section. Now, the thought of cutting all those inserts had me scared. I would have had to cut 240 inserts.

I ordered the side inserts in the width of the insert and they come all the same in length. I printed out 60 of each insert I need and cut one sample of each to the correct size - I have the heading showing on top of each.

I then brought everything to Staples to their Copy Department. They were able to line up each of the sample size inserts to the corresponding stack of inserts and made a cut for each. As the back insert did not need to be cut - I had them cut the 4 smaller inserts to size. Each cut was $2.00 for a total of 4 cuts which equaled $8.00. So for $8.00 I had all my inserts cut in about 20 minutes. I am sure this saved me hours of work and going through probably one or two cutting blades. Now I have to go home and start stuffing them in the pockets.

Hope this helps some that are using Cards and Pockets for the invitations.

Oh how I wish I had known this when I was working on my invites! You're right I spent not just hours but DAYS cutting paper. Ugh!

I haven't heard from you in a long time. I am getting married the day after you and our reception is in the same location. I think you are also using Misty.

You would be a great person to ask. Did you send your invites out already? If not, when are you planning on doing so? Also, what is the RSVP date?

I want to get ours out by the end of June (before summer vacations start for everyone) with a RSVP date of August 18th. Some people are saying that is too early for a November 10th wedding and while I agree it is a bit early - I would hope by mid August most everyone will know if they are coming or not. I am also sure there will be some stragglers that will not answer by the RSVP date.

Right now there are about 80 people being invited. I am pretty at least 45 have said definately yes - about 12 have said definately no. Hopefully we will have between 50 and 60.

How are you plans coming?

I'm really more of a lurker. I'm on here all the time, I just don't post very often. Anyways, I'm a crazy overplanner so I sent my invitations out about 2 weeks ago with an RSVP date of September 1st. A lot of people have made comments about it being super early. But I don't care! I also know I'm going to wind up chasing people. We are inviting 170 so that chasing is going to take up a lot of time. :rotfl: So don't feel bad at all. Other than that though everything is starting to come together and feel more real. Only 4 1/2 more months!
