No you're not doing anything wrong, in fact your highlighting what a good deal we Brit's get when renting cars in the States when compared to US residents who pay a lot more.
Therefore, normally best to book USA rentals through a UK company.
From one of those sites one example is on www.carhire3000.com which is offering a 3-week rental for a Dodge Caravan or Similar for £714.32, it's a Premium Sat-Nav Package: Price includes additional drivers over 25 & a tank of fuel & GPS Rental
Well it looks like pre booking is the way to go. I am comfortable with Dollar because I am pretty sure its them that we normally get the car with on virgin flydrive. The platinum package covers all the extra insurance and extra driver.
I can never remember is it the cdw that we need to get over the basic insurance that puts the price up. Or nowadays is that all included in the car rental prices.
