Captain's Grille or Mama Melrose??

Ok. I am staying at the Beach Club and would love to know if I should just eat at DHS or eat by our resort.
These are my two options...Any suggestions?? Thanks

i do love both... but i would take captain's grille anyday over mama. it is our favorite one ts meal. the food and service are always wonderful there!

Of those 2 I'd go for Captain's Grille, but that's just a matter of personal taste. There are several Italian restaurants at WDW and I would choose one of the others rather than MM. Pull the menus from both places and see what food appeals most to everybody in the party.

Only caveat would be if you are going to be at DHS on a F! night and want to eat at MM in order to get the F! package preferred seating - then it would be worth it to eat there.

I did both for the first time on my last trip. I really didn't like Capt.'s Grille but I don't like seafood. My mom, who does like seafood, wasn't impressed either. We both enjoyed Mama Melrose's though.

Another vote for Captain's Grille! We ate there twice on our last visit (once at the beginning of our vacation and once again toward the end). Great food and excellent service in a quiet-ish atmosphere. We will visit again for sure on our next visit!

I'm not a big fan for Mama Melrose at all, I'll pass on it.

As for the Captains Grill; I love this place. It is not an over-the-top themed place and is pretty quite. It's a nice get away from the WDW sensory overload ( even though we all love it), for a couple of hours. The service is excellent and the food is very good. I enjoy the crab cakes and the Grilled NY Strip and the Bourbon Marinated NY Strip steaks are both IMHO better than many of the much heralded restaurants in WDW.

I haven't eaten at CG, but I went to MM and i thought it was good. I liked my pasta but the service was very slow. The menu at CG doesn't appeal to me much, so I can't comment on that.

Not sure if this is a valid comparison but I LOVED Mama Melroses (dinner menu) but despised Captain's Grill (breakfast buffet)....bad service, mediocre food, and blah atmosphere. Perhaps if we tried a dinner and had a different server Captain's Grill would score higher in my estimation.

We have been to both, Mama Melrose is good but Capt Grill is very very good and I never felt rushed like I do at MM
