Can't decide between car and WDW transportation

I've been pondering this question for a couple months now and still am not sure which is best for our family.
It will be myself, DH, and our 2 daughters (almost 4 and 8). We will be driving so won't have to fool with a rental, and we will be staying at the ASMu.

Not having to worry about driving sounds great in theory, but there are a couple of reasons why I'm thinking that the bus might not always be the best choice for us.
1. One of our daughters tends to get carsick in the early morning, especially if there are a lot of starts and stops and/or if the ride is a long one. Funny thing is the same child can handle the toughest of roller coasters! Strange, huh? A carsick child on a Disney bus.......I can imagine that'd spoil the "magic" for a lot of people. *lol*
2. My almost 4 year old is really too big to sit comfortably in umbrella strollers, so we've got to bring the jogging stroller. (not an expensive one--one of the ToysRus models) I read on one of the other boards that it can be a real pain to load and unload on the buses.

So, do we dose up our 8 year old with Dramamine in the mornings, lug the jogging stroller, and go with Disney transportation or drive our on vehicle? Decisions, decisions!

I'm thinking the bus is the way to go on the days we do Magic Kingdom, but not sure about the days we do the other parks.

Need some good advice here! Whatcha think??

I think you answered your own question. Staying onsite gets you into the theme park parking lots free. Your own car lets you set your own pace and agenda without waiting for the Disney bus system. The All-Stars tends to be one of the better served resorts by the bus system but they can be extremely packed. Factor that into your little one's car sickness problem. Also if you want to get back to the All-Stars or go to another resort or theme park, it is a lot quicker using your own vehicle. I highly recommend using your own vehicle for the water parks or Downtown Disney. That bus service tends to the slowest with the most stops. I hope this helps.

We stayed at the all stars last year and used the busses. They are ok for the parks but I agree with Uncle Mikey a car is better for the water parks, downtown Disney and definetley better if you are visiting another resort. Also if you plan to go to more than 1 park a car would be nice. We went to BB and didn't like it as much as TL it took almost one hour to get from the one to the other. Another reason to use your car, the buses are extremely crowded at park closing, and you may have times when you can't get a seat. This can make for a long trip back to your resort with two very tired & sleepy children!

If the decision is even close I'd plan on the car. Most folks who use the buses either don't have a car with them or just don't want to drive the 10 to 15 minutes from one place to another.

We also drive but decided to try the buses one time when we were there last week. We ended up standing on a completely packed (sardine style) at 10:30 with 2 sleepy 6 year olds and a driver that thought curbes were to drive on. To us its better to drive everywhere just to avoid that once a trip sardine ride.

:D :D :D Thanks for all the input--I think it's going to be the car for us most of the time with the possible exception of the days we do Magic Kingdom.
We're planning on doing EE mornings at MK and then going to other parks those afternoons. Any opinions on what to do transportation-wise those days??

It depends on which Park. If it is Epcot I would use WDW transportaion. MGM, AK,DD or the water parks I would drive.
