The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Back in January, I stayed at BWV in a 1-bedroom that was at the end of a wing. If I recall, just to walk to the elevator seemed to take almost 5 minutes (based on where my room was located). Then to walk to Epcot was another 10-ish minutes. Last summer I stayed in a Duo Studio at VDH. While the total walk time, to DL/DCA main entrance, was probably about the same, it "felt" different since I was walking through Downtown Disney. Walking on the Boardwalk and up over the bridge and to International Gateway just seems like a very long walk (and with little to no shade). Where as to me, walking through the length of Downtown Disney feels "quicker".
Mostly agree except....

My DW and DD's end up finding ways to delay the walk by stopping at shops and such. Downtown Disney is a nice place to hang out. Now that the Palm Breeze Bar is open, I left them to their wandering and headed back for a refreshing beverage and some nibbles.

VDH is a long walk to the turnstiles. BWV can also be a long walk to the room. We are taking our first trip to AKV in November and will hold judgement on the walk until then. For DLR I love VGC over DLH, that being said. DLH is pretty great! When we were last there the monorail was down, so the walk seemed even longer at the end of the day!
Oh geez so I have more long hallways for the rest of my trip stay at BWV? 🤣🤣

Ok, I feel like Rocket getting mad and kicking something. I just had to pull some data together and see how these walking distances and times mapped out.

Had some available time today and worked out via Google Earth (distances) and average walking times (AI: average 308 feet per minute). Starting points are tricky. In general, it's from the hotel front lobby area unless of course your Boardwalk or Beach Club and exit through the back of the resort. For VGC I started at the DVC wing which is basically walking through the VGC lobby and then turning towards the resort entrance to DCA or exiting in Downtown Disney and heading to Disneyland. Walking distances are tracked along walking paths and available roads (no as the crow flies' distances)

Here's the table. Apologies to the Shanghai Disneyland folks. I'm not familiar with that park and hotels.

I love data!!

Not necessarily. Depends on view you have booked and how far from the elevators your villa is. But even the farthest walk at BWV is shorter than the longest walk at Kidani.
Whew! Glad I stayed at AK first so hopefully I’ll think BW is short.

This is true. I love walking through the entrance and seeing the here you leave today sign. So we really have only used it to pop back the room which is rare.
I would use it for that, but that deck can get blasted by the sun mid-day. I’m also not usually hanging out in Tomorrowland…. As it looks much better lit up at night when Buzz and Star Tours are walk ons.

I’d rather ride the Disneyland Railroad to the front of the park and walk from there.

Don’t overload their minds on distances when they find out the monorail station IS an actual Disneyland park entrance/exit and how close our Villas are to it than any other resort. 😝
Adding it to the list. It's 1,029 feet or 314 meters or just over a minute walking time from VDH.

Although you'd have to consider waiting time for the Monorail to arrive.

You are correct. 314 was meters not feet. Got to quick to post. 1,029 feet.
That’s still 3 American football fields…. no way anyone is doing that in just over a minute…

It feels like the walking distance from VGF1 to the monorail but with turns and a security gate.

You could be right. Interesting enough, AI had a faster rate and a slower rate. I used the average.

I did have the walking route through the new entrance by Din Tai Fung and Adventure Tower. We used it in January with minimal lines.

Unless it was the first week of January, I’m sure the lines were pretty low….
