My 9 year old neighbor says that a lot. Someone asked about ESL? Maybe "Nelson" is really a kid playing along for laughs!

Well, considering that the thread was started on Canadian Thanksgiving when the children were out of school.....

I suspect that someone may be trying to emulate my favourite pseudo-Bavarian poster, but while the effort may be there the persona certainly doesn't come close to what he managed to achieved.

Grüß dich, illuminati, whereever you may be! :flower3:

How about a home equity loan? sounds like a great option for extra vacation money.....and it appears you can swing it.....:lmao: just be sure to take the FULL amount of credit from the house for your vacation spending, there really is no better way to do things:rotfl2: Well, second only to selling your blood for plane tickets....:rotfl:

I got a letter from a financial place and i was offered a $15000 cheque loan preapproved. I phoned to check how much the interest was and it is 32%, thats not cool.

I don't get it...what's not cool about that?

But think of it this way it would only be until your stocks hit the big time then you can pay it off in full--take out the loan, "rock that vacation hard" it is kind of like a message from God :littleangel:showing you how to take that vacation you so desperately deserve but could not afford until the loan came in!

My plane tickets are not $200, they are $188 on united airlines flight 6154 from spokane to San Fancisco and flight 292 San Fransico to orlando with taxes it is $230 per person total $1152.:woohoo:

Your a post digger.

This is so true! I started looking into WDW last year because it was cheaper to fly RT to Florida from Portland, Or than it was to fly to California. My flights were $89 & $99 for the three of us.

But, look at how cool it would be to rock that $15000 hard!! :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Switching subjects, we recently discovered squirrels trying to nest in a wall cavity. Here we've been catching them in a Hav-a-Heart trap and releasing them into the woods a mile away, and we could have been, well, using them!! I feel like such an idiot for wasting them!! :headache:

I'm already planning on training the next one we catch to run in a hamster wheel, that's hooked to a generator. We could save tens-no, hundreds...no, THOUSANDS of dollars in time for our trip in 5 weeks!! :yay:

I have not read through this entire thread, so forgive me if I am repeating.....but I have never spent $3,000 on a Disney vacation EVER! I typically spend $1,500 per week including lodging and food.

So, if you have a condo and you can afford transport, you can get by with very little else. Eat mostly your own food, buy non park hoppers and you can get by very inexpensively.

Seriously, there are three choices - for $3k in a relatively short time, you'll probably want to do more than one.

Cut back your expenses. Take a look at your budget and cut out anything you don't need that you are willing to sacrifice for vacation. Around here, people have been known to sacrifice meat in their diets to get to Disney. Others sacrifice nice cars or nicer houses. Only you know your budget, sometimes it is the gardner (or the lawn service) or the pool boy (and cleaning your own pool).

Increase your income - there are several ways to do this. You could consult if you have the skills to consult. A paid speaking gig if someone will pay you to speak on a topic. Some people take a second job, some people have the opportunity to work overtime, some people pick up cans by the side of the road, some people sell their assets (whether that's stock in the stock market, or their kid's toys and old clothes at a garage sale, or their plasma). What you do depends on what assets (skills, stuff, opportunities) you have.

Borrow it. Not my favorite, but a valid choice. Home equity loan, credit card, line of credit from you bank, or money borrowed from a relative.

That's it. Without knowing what opportunities you have and what sacrifices you are willing to make, no one here can help you. You now need to evaluate what opportunities you have and what sacrifices you'll make. Frankly - after eleven pages you seem to brag about your opportunities, but be unwilling to make any sacrifices. In which case, frankly, it doesn't sound like the vacation is very important to you. Which brings us to the forth valid choice - stay home.

The way it is looking I think I will try and save as much as possible for my Disney Vacation. Here is what I have done so far to save money.
1. 2nd job- plow snow $200/month when it snows
2. 3rd job- security for some neighborhood houses $50/ month
3. wash the cars at home about $4/ wash
4. winterize my boats and seadoos myself saved $400
5. stocked up on firewood, save $1000 on heat for the year
6. found a cheaper grocery store save $100/month
7. found cheaper disney tickets thanks to forum members will save $70
8. book flight in the afternoon, will have time to drive 4 hours to another airport and fly out the same day save $200 but have to pay $14/day for parking.
9. have a rental car part of the vacation
10. have groceries in the condo eat breakfast and bring snacks to the park should save $40/ day.

I was thinking that people got by without internet & cell phones before, why not now? I have to keep my TV, I need my Sports and movies, cheaper than going to the games and the movies.

Any other suggestions?

The houses range from $850,000 to $2,200,000. And no garage sales around here.

If you live in a neighborhood with homes that are over a million bucks and you put an ad in the paper for a yardsale; trust me-people will come.

If you have boats and seadoos, good for you for winterizing them yourself. I'm sure it saves some money. But if you have boats and seadoos and a house worth upwards to 2.2 million dollars, why can't you afford the trip?

My suggestions are in red.

Why not rent a cheap car to go to and from the airport rather than forking out a daily parking fee?

Between that and all of the things you suddenly found to save on, you should be set for your trip!

But if you aren't quite there, you need to go back to your other threads and go back over this one and then implement some of the great ideas that so many people took time to suggest to you.

Have a good trip.

Or rent a hotel room, cheapest you can find that offers free airport parking, just check in but don't use the room. Then go to the airport via hotel transfer

This is such a funny thread.
Here are my suggestions. If you have boats..notice the plurel, sell one.
Give your kids Disney gift cards for X-mas or part of there gift, and that would be the spending money they are allowed at Disney. Also have freinds and family do the same. Us priceline to get a cheap hotel near the airpoirt. Us priceline (or similar sites) for car rental. If you are doing a time share thing, and have to sit through one, plan on that day just being a hotel day. It will be shot.
But if it was easy to make $3000, I'm sure we all would do it.

All this saving and then stuff starts to go in the house, water pump went cost $930 and now today heat element went in the hot tub. I replaced the heat element myself and it still costed $65. The more you try and save the more stuff breaks. Maybe this is a sign not to go to Florida. Good thing the hot tub broke now instead when I was on my trip, the whole tub would have been hooped.

I hate it when that happens to my hot tub. Oh wait, I don't have one.

OP, it would be difficult for me to come up with 3000 in five months, but if I were able to buy a million+ dollar home, boats, and other such stuff, I would think $3,000 would seem like chump change.
