Yes, I am an ESL poster. Thank you for asking. :)

(edited! Whoops! you did not mean me perhaps? But I stand by my answer)

No, the OP. :)

I never would have guessed it from you, though your name might suggest it.

Not to hijack the thread but I have a similiar problem. See I need desperately to buy a diamond encrusted Tiara for my cat. Its going to cost $45,000 and I am thinking if I cut back on my private limo rides to the grocery store I might be able to raise the money in about two weeks. Anyone else have other saving ideas?? FYI I have already cut down my staff of 10 to 8....I let go of two of the gardeners, I still have three. :rotfl:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Actually, with all the "I got scammed" threads I've read here, I wouldn't put it past someone looking to make some "quick" money to take the OP's advice. Thanks for clarifying the advertising policy, but how does anyone know the OP isn't a majority stockholder?

Because he's not bright enough to know a scam himself when he sees it? He got taken in by a clearly bad timeshare presentation "deal," with all the extra expenses totaling up to more than the rest of our vacations, and after the thread where everyone TOLD him it wasn't a deal, he's too proud to not take his trip even if it means alienating his family, selling off assets, and generally being miserable in the interim. Someone with a clue has learned to "cut their losses" already. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if his "stock" were another "deal" he got into and now, for pride again, feels the need to drag others into. (Put it this way, LVS does not appear to be performing so phenomenally: LVS stock ticker.)

Don't worry, in early 2010, I will post on here to remind you guys of how much money you missed out on. Nobody said you had to buy the stock. I'm just telling you what my risky plans are.

Nelson, I did some post digging and I just have to say :rotfl:
I dig you man. :worship:
I have no doubt you will find that three grand, or whatever it is you need to make that trip in February. :thumbsup2

Thanks, I don't know whats wrong with some of the others:confused3

Like you told us all what a great deal you got on a vacation in prior threads? You know, that vacation you're here trying to afford?

Very interesting thread.....Man....do I love my husband................I am torn between thinking that this guy is trying to yank our chain or thinking that this guy has some serious, serious issues.....

:confused3 What kind of a neighborhood do you live in? I've seen garage sales in all kinds of neighborhoods from those with $70,000 homes to those with $1,000,000+ homes.

Wife is embarassed to have a garage sale yet doesn't mind if DH is snow plowing the neighbors driveways??????????? This is so funny!:rotfl2:
The Diamonique Kitty Tiara will have me laughing all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well with this stock I will get a free vacation in 2010.:cool1::woohoo: and you guys will be doing this:worship:

Well, it won't be "free" you'll have made that money thanks to the magic of capital appreciation. But since you need that capital now in order to pay for something else this year, I'm not likely to be impressed by what you can pay for next year.

But since this stock is a sure thing, borrow against it now and pay the piper later. I'm far too conservative to do that myself, but you seem confident enough to play on the margin - which is what you are doing anyway if you take a vacation you can't afford while you have money in play in the markets.

The houses range from $850,000 to $2,200,000. And no garage sales around here.

This is the snottiest thing I have ever read. I am sure these homes have multiple garages... you could have two or three "garage" sales at once. Maybe its time to get over yourselves.

( I mean this kindly. I was team nelson for most of the thread. But this is just too superficial. )

:lovestruc

ok after reading and laughing and deciding I couldn't get rid of a cute pool boy...( if I had a pool and money for a pool boy)

I am wondering where in New Smyrna Beach is he staying??
There's the Holiday Inn and a few mom and pop places on beach side
Lots of condos..maybe one of those??
There's the OLD Islander but as far as resorts- like fancy resorts ...
Don't think so in NSB...
There is a good Boston Seafood place to eat - but all that seafood is flown in from .. Well, Boston :)
there are a few decent places to eat on beachside..

We need you back on team nelson, this thread started out on how to save a few extra dollars to get my butt to disney and Some have picked it apart and made up their own story. If you join up with team nelson again I will even cheer for the flames or oilers take your pick.

:cheer2:team nelson:cheer2:

we need to huddle up here:grouphug: and come up with some money saving tips or it will be a Las Vegas thread, I have enough for Vegas:woohoo:

I have seen people making money by selling their cut off hair on ebay...it appears you can make even more if you are a pretty young thing and videotape it being cut off - not sure what THAT is all about, but anyway, maybe you can talk your wife into growing her hair and auctioning it off?

Maybe you could rent one of your garages to a tenant?

Does your family like Raman noodles? If you switch to an all raman all the time diet, the grocery savings could be fantastic. It doesn't seem like they are really into sacrifice though, so maybe it would just be you.

I would suggest taking your SUV keys and freezing them in a big block of ice in your freezer. If you can't bike or walk to where you want to go, you shouldn't be going there.

Good Luck, and let us know how it goes - I have a feeling you all are in for the vacation of a lifetime :cheer2:

Hey-you could plow WDWho's driveway! She has a cat with a diamond encrusted tiara and three gardeners, she could certainly afford a few hundred bucks a plow!

Maybe you could get a part time job at Five guys. Instead of driving 50 miles just to eat there, you could pull a 4-5 hour shift, then eat.

Sell your garage sale stuff on Craigslist-you can do it anonymously and meet up at a grocery store parking lot to deliver. Though don't be surprised when it's your snooty million dollar + house neighbors buying what you're selling. How do you think they got rich and snooty?

Go Team Nelson! :cheer2:
