My friend is going to DLP xmas time, like me

She is thinking to buy Food Vouchers which works out to be roughly £31 per person.

If she buys these vouchers can she use them at ANY resturant on ANYTHING on the menu.....

OR can they only be used at certain resturants on a selected menu for people with vouchers??? :confused3

Thanks everyone

There are 3 types of vouchers - half board, half board plus and half board premium.
I think the ones your friend is talking about is premium which can be used in any restaurant and I would think for most items. They are expensive though and she woudl need to eat at places like Inventions, Auberge everyday to make it worth while.

The most common type seem to be plus which allows you to use in some restaurants to pay for all of meal but can be used at face value in others - still a saving as you pay for them in £ and not €

So, does anyone know for sure if when you use the premium if you will still pay out of pocket (since the face value is only 44 Euro per adult) or if there is some special menu they make you choose from? Everything that I've read is very misleading. It says you can even use this one for the Wild Bill show ... but it's more than 44 Euro. :confused3

44 euro per adult is a lot of food though!

For example, a main course, drink and dessert with coffee at Annettes in the Village (by no means a cheap option for table service dining at DLRP) only comes to around 30 euro - and the portions are huge.

I really think, unless you intend eating in the most expensive restaurants in the Parks during your trip, you wouldn't really get the value out of vouchers which are worth 44 euro each.

Is there an option for around 30/35 euro value per voucher? That seems more realistic.

I'm not sure of the value of the Plus. The reason we were considering this is because we will be doing the Wild Bill, and Princess dinners (which are quite expensive). Also DH wants to dine at California Grill our last evening. But, if we are still going to pay a lot out of pocket ... this may not be a good idea after all?

I would say that the half board premium vouchers are the best option for your choices, as you will save a few euros as your buying them in advance.

Is there a link to information regarding the vouchers? Maybe that could be usefull for next time.

Can you not buy some Half board plus & some Premium? If you can that maybe a good option. Then you can use the Premium ones for the Buffalo Bills etc & the rest on the other restaurants.

eh? Can you mix and match????? I thought that wasn't allowed...ie had to be all the same?????

can any one clarify this please?????

I think if you are under the same booking though it has to be the same...for all people in the booking.....you can't just buy half board standard for one person and another version for the next person...and all the people in the booking have to go half board...like I go with 3 people..I can't go half board without the other 3 doing it too.....

well thats what I reckon...I'm probably way wrong!!!:confused3

I've been on websites all morning trying to make my mind up...I'm not going til January!!!:rotfl:

That was what I was thinking, since the places we are going to are high end.

I was just wondering if I'm still going to have to pay out of pocket since the Wild Bill and Princess dinner are still listed as more then the value of the premium voucher? I checked the sites posted, and I still couldn't find the answer?

I've been having a look at the downloadable brochure and it would seem that the half board premium will cover you for the BBWW show without having to pay extra - though apparently you will be sat in the newly allocated Category 2 seating for that. The information is on Pages 80-81.

I'm sure it will also cover you for the Princess meal, though I don't know if you can have the choice of the whole menu at the other non-buffet restaurants such as California Grill and Blue Lagoon. :confused3

Thanks Bexx! I guess the worst that will happen is we will end up spending more than we've planned. I'll leave that up to DH.

cheers for that Bexx!!

Now see page 82 on it?? Character meals...the tea party one the way I'm reading it is after the 6th november 08 its at Pizza Planet (usually plaza Gardens)..is that right??? Same with the birthdays that Plaza gardens do??????

Ah, there were rumours a while ago of a character meal at Pizza Planet, so this must be why. Wouldn't it be fantastic if Buzz Lightyear were there?!

Wonder why they are moving the character tea parties to the Pizza Planet? That resturant realy is tucked away at the back of the park and is not as nice as the Plaza Gardens.
