or will it explode?

I think it will be ok, but I was wondering if anyone else has done it.

No, we found out when we discovered it missing!(LOL) We got a letter telling us they had taken it. We did not even think about it, that was our first time flying.

What kind of aerosol can are you referring to? We have taken the new spray sun screens in our checked baggage with no problems. I would pack any can in a zip lock baggie and use some of it first to allow room for expansion.

I was thinking about bringing aerosol room deodorizer spray

Hairspray and sunscreen are fine as they are considered toiletries. Lysol and other aerosol cleaner type products are not allowed. I am not sure but I don't think the new sunscreen mist spray types are really aerosol anyway but I am not sure about that.

I had starch taken away.:lmao: My husband kept asking where is the starch? I had no idea, I thought he forgot to pack it.:rolleyes1

The rule is interpreted by the FAA as "is the substance meant to be applied to the human body?" If it is, you can take a limited quantity (see the link above), but if it isn't, then you can't pack it, and it will be confiscated if found.

Hairspray, deodorant, sunscreen will all be OK. Lysol or starch won't be.

I packed some of the spray on sunsceen going to and from Hawaii last April. Had only used a little bit before going and then used a lot of it on the trip. It was fine flying there, but the rest of it discharged on the flight home. I'd put it in a zip-lock bag just in case, but the pressure was strong enough that it popped open the seal. The nylon bag the zip-lock was in contained a lot of the mess, but everything in my suitcase smelled like sunscreen. I'll be avoiding packing aerosols in the future.

I would look for one of the pump-type room deoderizer sprays, rather than aerosol. I know Febreze comes like that. That should be okay. :)
