Can we? Should we? A Spring 2009 PTR - New 5/6 - The TR has begun!

Here are the boys getting ready to head out for trick or treat. Alex's costume won the K-2 costume contest at his mother-son Halloween dance Saturday night.

And this is him winning musical chairs during his class Halloween party (it's been a good week for him ;)):

And here's Zach in Alex's classroom:

How cute! Was Alex supposed to be Wheezy or just a penguin?

Oh my goodness your little frog and penguin are adorable! Congrats to Alex on his wins!!:goodvibes

I don't think the costume was marketed as Wheezy, but he sure does look like him, doesn't he? :confused3 I guess Disney is always in my subconscious!

Thanks! I thought they were pretty cute this year. :goodvibes

Now since this is a surprise trip, my WDW planning binder has to be camouflaged...

And a peek at the inside:

This binder has served me well so far, but I don't know how long I'll be using it. I pre-ordered a 2009 Passporter, which has experienced shipping delays, but should arrive in the next couple of weeks. I'll definitely share pictures when it arrives.

In other news... Zachary learned how to ride his bike without training wheels this past weekend:

He's so proud of himself. He beat Alex in getting the training wheels off! Alex is too scared... :rolleyes1

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE TODAY!!

Congrats Zachary!! By the way, that is a really good shot with all the foliage in the background too :thumbsup2

Love the Halloween costumes!

What car rental company to you usually use? I found some great deals from National using codes. 10 days for about $200.

Thanks! Most of the leaves have fallen by now, but there are some areas that are still really beautiful.

Thanks!

We used Alamo last time and loved them! We got to check in from home ahead of time and just walk to our car when we arrived - much better than the previous trip when we waited for an hour with the kids going crazy. We got a minivan for $249 for the week ($312 total with taxes/fees). We made the reservation through BJs. We'll probably go with Alamo again, but I'd be open to a good deal elsewhere. ;)

You can sign up for National's Emeral Asiel thru mousesavers.com for free. But if you need a mini-van I don't know if that would be much help. EA basically has full sized cars for a the mid-size price.

Good to know - I'll check that out - we probably don't need a van this time. We had extra adults with us for both of the last two trips and really needed that space, but probably can get away without it this time.

So it looks like we'll be going to Mickey's Pirate & Princess Party on Friday, May 1st. :cool1:

Nothing is posted on the WDW website yet, but allearsnet has dates posted. Here's a link to a thread that has more info for anyone who is interested. P&PP thread

Hi Amy,

very cute "Disney" costumes for the boys.....I'm just sure there was a frog in some movie huh :confused3

Yeah! for Zac and mastering the two-wheeler...don't feel to bad about Alex not getting it yet. Michael is just getting there and he's 9 1/2. He's making strides, sometimes I think it takes the extra motivation of oh I guess this really can be fun. Next Spring for sure!

Love the green camo binder very clever...you're in for alot of covert tactics to pull this one off...I remember locking my bedroom door and packing with the suitcases under the bed;) for our 05 trip

Super:yay: for P&PP on May 1st how exciting that will be so fun for you all and especially the boys. Are you going to make up some special Pirate shirts for them to wear? oohh! You should check and see if you can still find some Pirate Halloween gear on sale still:thumbsup2

Wait for more fun as it comes!

I'm not too worried about Alex & his bike - he'll get there, I just hope it's before he outgrows his bike! :rolleyes1

It's funny - the boys are pretty easy to hide things from. I sit on the computer doing Disney stuff right in front of them and they don't have a clue. Disney books in my bedroom - not a hint. I suppose the suitcases could tip them off, but I'll be happy if it stays a secret that long.

The Wii we bought them for Christmas is sitting right out in the basement and they don't have a clue what it is. It's in the box - no pictures or anything - they must just think it's another box of junk mommy is saving. :confused3

We'll definitely dress up somehow for the P&PP - it may be as simple as t-shirts or we may go all out with costumes. I'll definitely have to check out the Halloween sales. :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone - everyone who is still with me that is... :rolleyes1

Still hanging out in limbo trying not to think about my trip too much. JetBlue still hasn't released May airfares, there seems to be some mystery around the P&PP- dates were released on allears but then the entire P&PP event was removed from the WDW webiste. :confused3 Tour Guide Mike should be posting Least Crowded Park charts for late April any day now... so as you can imagine, the more I think about it the more anxious I get for all of these things to be resolved. Better to just not think about it right now.

Plus, next Sunday, Tim's brother and girlfriend are coming to stay with us for a week over Thanksgiving. Alex's birthday is the 28th, with a kids party on the 29th. Hopefully... after the next two weeks are over, I'll have some answers about all of the stuff in limbo and will be able to get into the heavy planning. Hang in there with me. :goodvibes

Waiting stinks!!!

Sounds like you have a lot going on over the next couple weeks to occupy your mind, so that's helpful! :thumbsup2

Better to have it all settled out before you make major plans then to have Disney change things on you.

I question whether Disney will really have PPP's this spring with the tourism turn down. I say that because none of the Halloween parties sold out (well 10/31 did, but then they opened it back up).
