Can we? Should we? A Spring 2009 PTR - New 5/6 - The TR has begun!

Waiting stinks!!!

Sounds like you have a lot going on over the next couple weeks to occupy your mind, so that's helpful! :thumbsup2

Thank goodness! Or I'd be going crazy with the waiting. :hyper:

Better to have it all settled out before you make major plans then to have Disney change things on you.

I question whether Disney will really have PPP's this spring with the tourism turn down. I say that because none of the Halloween parties sold out (well 10/31 did, but then they opened it back up).

I'm kind of glad that I can't make ADRs yet. This way I'll have my Tour Guide Mike suggestions before I have to do it.

I'm seriously doubting the PPP too... I've heard bad things about attendance vs. cost, etc. If they don't have it, they don't have it - it'll save us almost $200 and we'll just plan a regular MK night that night.

breanna:
this TR is really good!
and your two sons are so adorable!
:)
i'll be reading more, definately! :surfweb:

:welcome: Thanks for reading!

I know, I know... I'm still here.

Unfortunately, it looks like there will not be any P&PPs in 2009. :sad2:
The dates between February and April that were showing a 7pm closing at MK (and therefore assumed to be P&PP dates) have been changed to normally scheduled closing times. I'm taking that to mean no parties. The good news is that almost $200 can be added back into our trip budget. :thumbsup2 I'm sure I can figure out a fuzzy Disney way to spend that "saved" money. ;)

Hopefully I'll have more to post soon - still waiting on those May hours, TGM recommendations for late April and JetBlue to release May tickets. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully I'll have some other things to post after I get through Thanksgiving.

I found some old Disney pictures last week - there aren't many, but there are a few from when we went in 2002, Alex's first trip at 16 months.

We're going right before you and from what I've read on allears.net there is still going to be P&PP's but theres just no date on there yet of when the tickets will go on sale. I hope there are still going to be parties because I want to go too!!

Let's hope so... the UNOFFICIAL word at Tour Guide Mike's site is that it is most likely cancelled. :sad2:

I am so subscribing to your PTR -- now I am going to go back and read.

Your boys are just precious!

I hope that Disney doesn't cancel its P&P Parties -- that would be so sad to me.

Oh no I hope its not cancelled!!

It's not looking good... :sad2:

I guess it isn't definite until Disney says so, but the change of schedule certainly makes me think the P&PPs are cancelled. :sad1:

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

We had 10 for Thanksgiving dinner and 2 staying for the whole week. They left today - it's sad because we had so much fun, but nice to be able to get back into our usual routine. Unfortunately they brought germs and I'm sick...

We also celebrated Alex's 8th birthday over the weekend. We had a little family party here on Friday and a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party for his friends on Saturday - they all had a blast - but boy was it expensive!!

Now I am back to the Disney planning... or lack there of... since I am STILL waiting on May park hours, Tour Guide Mike's Least Crowded Park Charts for late April and early May, as well as JetBlue's May airfare to be relased. :sad2:

I didn't tell you guys, but I got this for my birthday and it finally came last week! :cool1:

There's this rumor going around that Disney dining may open up some more dates tomorrow - booking through May 10th. Nobody seems to be able to confirm it (it was spotted on the Mom's Panel web page) but I am planning for it just in case. It's pretty hard to figure it out without even having park hours to work with, but I'm trying. I'll keep you posted.

And after our super fun visit with DH's brother we have definitely decided to extend our trip to 10 days and visit with them while we are there. Ideally we should have gone down a few days early to visit with them first, but since we have already booked our flight down we have to add it to the end of the trip. I would like to visit with them first, then do Disney but that will all depend on whether I can get a timeshare week with a Monday check-in. The Marriott's do, which is where we want to stay, I'm just not sure if they have as many as the Saturday check-ins. :confused3 If that works out, we'll fly into Orlando, drive to the west coast, south of Tampa and visit until Monday then drive to our resort and stay until the following Monday, with them maybe coming to stay with us at our resort for a few days over the last weekend. We'd get to see them twice, plus get a lot of time by ourselves at Disney - the best of all worlds.

If that doesn't work out, we'll do Disney Saturday - Saturday as planned, then go visit them Saturday - Monday, still flying home out of Orlando because it is still the best flight schedule on JetBlue. They may come and visit us at our resort during the first weekend. :confused3

I won't know about the timeshare until the end of February - I can't book the nicer resorts (Marriott) until 60 days out. So that's just another variable I have to work with for now...

Hope to be back soon with more. Have a good week. :goodvibes

Glad to hear you had a happy thanksgiving. Hope everyone starts to feel better though from the germs that your visitors brought

That's really exciting that you are going to extend your trip to 10 days! :goodvibes

10 days.....Nice!

:thumbsup2

We were sorry to see our family leave yesterday - glad to see their germs leave though. ;) We had so much fun we just couldn't imagine going to Florida and not visiting them.

and waits, and waits...

Still no May tickets on JetBlue, still no May hours posted by WDW, still no late April LCP charts from Tour Guide Mike and still no ADRs to be made. :sad2:

I'm actually glad about the last one. Last night I was sitting in bed, coughing and sneezing, trying to figure out what the May hours might be based on the April hours and last year's May hours. Then from that I was trying to figure out what our itinerary should look like based on staying in Orlando from Monday to Monday with a back-up plan staying Satruday to Saturday. And finally from that, I was trying to figure out what ADRs we might want. :headache: It wasn't fun. I was relieved to find that Disney Dining hadn't opened up the new ADR window yet. :thumbsup2

And so I shall wait some more. ;)

10 days sounds great! I love that time frame! It really seems to work well IMHO...sorry about all the waiting for times, dates, etc....to get this trip moving along in your planning stages! I'd be pretty squirrely myself! But hey just be happy you are planning right;)

sorry to hear you are sick:sick:

I've been sick too for almost a week w/ this icky cold...luckily no one else has gotten it yet, but me. Hope it stays that way

be back soon

 J-

Feeling much better now. :goodvibes I had two colds one right after the other - yuck! Hope you are feeling better.

Hopefully 10 days will be just right. It would be nice if we could do a little Disney, visit family and return for more Disney, but that won't work with our timeshare - it's only 7 consecutive nights. The other 2 nights will be with DH's brother & family.

But I am STILL WAITING... no new news to report about trip planning! :headache:

:welcome: or maybe I should say "Welcome Back!"

Thanks for stopping by! I saw you over on mousescrappers TR - glad you came over to see me. I totally understand about how the DIS can take over your life - which can be hard if you don't have a trip planned. I'm trying to pace myself until it gets a little closer to my trip - and there isn't so much waiting involved. :rolleyes1 It looks like you have something planned - congrats!

I am working a full time job for the first time since having kids and it is a lot harder than I had ever imagined. We are taking a much needed break from sports this winter even though they still have a few practices here and there.

Yes, we are going in February and we are SOO excited. It was supposed to be in June but we were offered a condo for a great price and moved up the trip.Looking forward to reading more of yours!

I have barely planned for my trip so I am reading pretrip reports to get me going.:surfweb:

Hi Everyone - sorry for the long absence - we lost power due to a huge ice storm that came through last Thursday night. Power went out at 11:15 Thursday night and still hasn't returned. We are on generator power so I shouldn't have the computer on for long but since cable/internet/phone returned yesterday I thought I'd jump on for a quick update. I'll be back soon with photos of the damage to our yard. We had a lot of tree limbs down and one big tree, but luckily our house didn't suffer any damage. The kids have been out of school since Friday so we are a little stir crazy - but hanging in there.

Good Disney news - we booked our return flight on JetBlue!! $129 pp/one way - add that to our $84/pp one way and we spent $$213 pp/rt = 852 total!! :cool1:

Amy sorry to hear you got hit hard from the storm! I read on Heidi's TR about the power out and now to hear the boys are home too I can't imagine the crazies going on there!

Hang in there and I hope you can manage and keep everyone happy and warm.

 yay on the return flight being booked that is wonderful news for your trip.
