Can someone please verify this for me?

I received the pin code (which then became a general public code) for the free ticket upgrade when you purchase a min. 3 day package that was available earlier this year for our trip in May. I opted to only have a 1 day base ticket w/ free upgrade in my package price so I wouldn't have so much out of pocket expense all at once. I have been told that I would be able to add more days when we check in and still receive the free upgrade. Is this correct or should I go ahead and add the days to my package to ensure I receive the free upgrade? Because the CM's don't always have accurate knowledge, I wanted to check with my dis friends. If anyone knows the right answer, it's my friends on the disboard.

Are you talking about the free ticket upgrade w/ hopper and Water?
I got the pkg. I was told that I couldn't add days I thought that was not right, but I didn't want to take any chances. The only reason I could see that you couldn't add days was because the Water and Fun (# of ticket days )is based on the number days your park ticket is for. The more days the more Water and Fun days you get. Being this is a "free upgrade ticket pkg" I can see that they want you to make the decision/purchase before you arrive. So if that's the case, I felt, Better safe than sorry.
