Can not get over how many of you get pins!!!!

Yes, I've given Disney alot of my money.

I started going back in 1986 on my honeymoon and many years after.

I've learned about pins about 4 years ago and started doing everything
suggested and then bamm. The first year, I couldn't use the pin. Then
the next, a pin I could use. Oh happy day...

So, I suggest that you continue trying in the hopes of that elusive pin.

It won't hurt to have more than 1 email account. Two of the ones I have
are Yahoo. Keep on trying .

This thread inspired me to go check out my Disneyworld.com account, and see what could be updated. Lo and behold, I didn't have much info. under the account at all! Plus, my home address/billing address was incorrect. So, I updated everything. Here's hoping! :surfweb:

3 years of AP, not one pin. . .whatever, they know I am coming.

Speaking as an IT guy, it's easy for me to see why many folks don't get a pin. The post above states what WDW already knows - people will come anyway. WDW is looking for NEW business - they already have the hardcore repeat visitors with or without pins. There's a process called data mining that allows a company to see patterns in data. By cross-referencing data it easy to see who the repeat visitors are vs. the occasional visitor (or those that have never booked on their own but came with someone else). I see a lot of comments that so and so got a pin but I always book the trip. EXACTLY!!! WDW wants that other person to book too - on their own and bring others with them. This is the net NEW business that WDW is looking for...that's where the profit is. They already know the the WDW diehards will come back and they throw them the occasional free dining perk (while you're still paying rack rates for the room). So if you're not getting pin codes try this:

1. Create a new email account and register it with WDW.
2. If your spouse or significant other has never booked a trip in their name register them with WDW with a new email account.
3. Using your new WDW account browse a few packages and save them to your account (mix it up between value & mod or mod & deluxe).
4. Make sure you edit your email spam filter to allow WDW emails (something like allow *@disney.com - can't remember how the pin offers are addressed).

Now sit back and wait a couple weeks. When WDW does a new data mining pass they'll see a new email account with a new person's name who was looking for a package but didn't book it. Based on the marketing parameters in place when the data is generated you should receive a targeted pin code to help induce this "potential new customer" to book. Make sense?

I have a very old email account that I keep open and that is where I receive PIN offers. Over the last 10 years, I have NOT received one offer at my current address or current email. Basically, since I got married, had kids, and we became AP holders I have received nothing. However, I get the PIN's on my old account before I was married and had kids.

WOWZA!!!! CLARITY!!!! (and actually a pretty logical marketing model, Ohio Disney Dad!!!! :thumbsup2) ...one odd little disparity though -- quite a few folks here are both regular WDW visitors AND PIN recipients... I'm thinking there are a few more selection factors and restraints at work here, that may be more subtle.

My experiment, modeled on your suggestions (different email addy, variation on my name and mailing address, unfulfilled va-ca package shopping), hasn't yet borne fruit but it is still early days. I'm getting far more correspondence from "Disney-partners" than from Disney. We'll just wait and see :surfweb:.

Everybody else...pull up a chair, and repeat after me: I'm a GOOD PERSON. I'm DESERVING of Disney's love too. Some FINE DAY, I TOO will be blessed with awesome moneylicious sparkling PIXIE DUST!!!!:wizard::rotfl2:

No doubt there are other data points that I'm missing. Data mining and target marketing is quite the science. I do know that my little "scheme" worked for me. In my case it took about two weeks or so before I got my first pin. YMMV! Good luck!

I just received a DL monster pin today. I always get DL pins. I live in AZ Everybody in AZ goes to DL. I'm guessing that not to many arizonans are going to WDW. So I'm wondering if its more of a regional thing.

Interesting development. Received a $50.00 "birthday present" email from SW Airlines for a flight+4 nights. I see this as sort of a "nibble". Obviously, it wasn't a PIN offer (which woulda been landing the BIG ONE) but I had been checking out SWA's vacation page and they have NEVER offered me anything (other than peanuts ;) ) before...

Continuing with the fishing metaphor, my hook is still in the water and I'm patiently waiting to see if I get any bites. Fingers crossed. :)

AWESOME! Good for you. :thumbsup2 I've only been to DL once and you might think they'd try to get me back... but no... no DL pins either :sad2:

Yes it would be awesome if I wanted to go to DL been there done that a hundred times. I want to go to WDW again. I would really like a pin so I don't have to wait to the last minute when the public discounts come out and have to switch resorts or room type to what I really want but can"t afford without a discount.

Up until this year, I wasn't receiving any PINs. All of a sudden this year, I've been getting them every few months...
...please don't hate me!

This happened to me 2 years ago. It was ridiculous. Of course since then I haven't received one. I couldn't tell anyone anything that I did differently from any other year that I had gone to WDW since 1973. I hadn't ordered a vacation dvd, had signed up for disney sites but 3 years before I began getting the pins. Maybe their computers get stuck on a few names which keeps a lot of other people from getting them. I've stopped trying to figure it out.
