WOW! I've been going to WDW for years; spend tons of money there, always request planning CDs, sign up for emails/newsletters, have never in my life been impolite to a CM, don't smell bad, and am seriously thinking I must be in a yucky undesirable demographic that is unique to me alone. :confused3:

In more than 20 years, I have never received ONE! Anybody else in the same boat?

I am almost expecting to see a note slipped into my next ressie packet that Disney would just as soon that I didn't bother them with my nasty dirty money or unappealing self in the future...:rotfl2:

Yeah, the whole idea of pins makes me feel Iccckkkk.

My mother gets them all the time and Im always the one booking the vacations and paying! I think she signed onto photopass once while she was there and bought a picture!

I cant complain tooooo much as I got my FIRST pin this year, but I have gotten to the point where I wont go unless I have a deal. I dont mind paying whatever price, but I refuse to pay more than someone in the room next to me...just because. I can even understand the airlines and different prices, but at least with that its the early bird catches the worm. Low prices are available to EVERYONE if you reserve at the perfect time. Once those seats are gone, everyone pays higher etc... With Disney, its you can have a discount and you can not. Sickening.

Another one here who rarely gets a pin code. I just called WDW last night just to check, but no, nothing there. EVERY person I've ever taken to Disney have all gotten postcard cards(to MY address, no less). I think I've received one or two email pin codes, but never during a time I was able to use them. I guess Disney knows I'm coming down, whether or not I get a code. Unfortunately, they're right.....but just once, I'd like to be able to get a code I could use.

Its laughable now. Everyone I know has gotten a pin except me. I have never even been able to use a general public or visa discount. Always paid rack room prices. My friends I work with who hate Disney have gotten them too. But yes, Disney knows I will keep coming back. I guess its my own fault.:lmao:

I got one in 2007 that I used. However, I too have shelled out probably over 25K since 1997 (and a cruise) and haven't gotten another one. I have ordered DVD's, signed up on line on my account, ordered photo pass not once, twice but 3 times, etc. Last year I went in Nov. and got the free dining, but no bounceback offer in my room. I have read on the disboards that others down there at the same time got bounceback offers. I too feel like "oh here comes the crazy lady who spends all her cash here, so we won't give her a deal...." so I just save away and pay regular price :)

The only one I ever got was in the name of my daughter's teenage friend that accompanied us on our trip last January! It was sent to my address, but with his name! It was useless to us:sad2: , and I have never received another. I did all the things others do. Thank God my trip dates fell into the free dining time period, or I'd have been unsure if we could go at all.

Me too!
My family has been going to WDW for several years and never gotten pins (except last year when no plans to go). I created a post a few days ago mentioning the same thing and I was told by several posts to stop being a "complainer", "whiner", "get over it", and "life is not fair". One post told me that if I don't like seeing other people getting pins, to get off Disboard!! :rotfl:
Oh well, I like the Disboard. I know that people here are mostly very nice! :)

In all my years going Never, Never got a pin. Thats why we have AP's. I booked 2 rooms the end of March and sat back and waited for AP rates. Around May I started getting pins in my e-mail, 7 to date. Hey Disney I can only afford one vacation, 2 discounted room at Sugarloaf Lodge for 8 days, thats my vacation allotment for the year.

I'm sure there are others who would love my pins. Seem to be once your in the system to get pins, they just keep coming. I been reading here for months how families are getting more then one pin, even after there booked under another pin. You want to fill your resorts stop giving out pins to the same people over and over. Don't get me wrong I love getting pin (makes me feel special) but how many pin can one person use, especially when they have AP's. Yes Disney knows I have a AP I get AP e-mail all the time.

I've been going to WDW since it opened, too many times to count. Granted the first few years were paid for by a parent, but not many. The rest has been on my tab.

I've been a passholder for years as well. Only ONCE, have I received a pin code, and it was a pin just for passholders. That was the middle of last summer and I used it twice ( Sept and Dec 2009). The rest of my stays have either been booked with AP or AAA rates, if there were no AP discounts.

It IS frustrating, but I normally get fairly good AP discounts. I'm still white-knuckling it for this fall waiting for AP rates to come out, hopefully!

I do think I'm on a list of people that they figure are suckers and will keep coming no matter what the rates are!!! :rotfl:

I was in the same boat as you, been going since my son was in 1st grade, now in 9th grade, come to find it it was my security settings on my current cable internet provider, they could not figure out why it was blocking it as well.

So, I set up an email account thru Yahoo & I just use that email address for Disney stuff & BAM, I started getting Pin emails & codes, so you may want to give that a try !!! It would not hurt...:santa::santa::santa:

Up until this year, I wasn't receiving any PINs. All of a sudden this year, I've been getting them every few months...

...please don't hate me!

I don't really get it either. I see people here on DIS that have been to WDW numerous times and never receive a PIN. DH and I went in 1997 and then not again until last November. I have received probably 7-8 PINs just this year. No idea why??? I tried to use one of them (the Monster PIN) and there was no availability for the dates and resort we chose. We switched to use a public code instead.

I too have been going to Disney for years. My teenage boys have been so many times they are tired of it, but I make them go anyways. :rotfl2:
Just last week I received my first PIN. It was for free dini. I was So excited!!!

My DH gets pins. All the time.

He's never planned a trip, paid for the trip, signed up for an email or a DVD, and hasn't stayed onsite since he was 13.

Thankfully since it's the household I can use them, but it's still annoying.

Thank you all for your responses. Oddly, it's quite reassuring that... It's. Not. Just. ME! LOL! :rotfl2:

After my initial post, I called to check if there were any PINs associated w/ my name ( also made a room-only ressie for Early November :goodvibes: ) NOPE!

I had a lovely CM who really wanted to help me out so we went through all the other many friends and family names that have accompanied us on previous trips one by one. NOPE again!

By this time, he was even sort of surprised and apologetic. He said that he had no idea how, why, or why not PINs are assigned. I told him it was fine and not to worry about it.

Seeing the post above about using Yahoo mail inspired me. I have now set up a Yahoo account. Additionally, I also set up a new account with Disney using that email address and have requested newsletters, correspondence -- the whole nine yards.

Now I wait...:rolleyes1 ...not expecting any miracles, mind you. :rotfl2: If something surprising DOES happen, I'll post it here. I suspect however, that I'm forever doomed to life of rack-rates and full price dining. It's enough to drive one to pool-hopping... or worse... refillable mug recycling.:sad2:

Awesome, I am glad you went back to the Disney site to let them know of your new address & that you subscribed to their site with your new Yahoo email address. I actually got that hint myself from someone else on these boards about 8 months ago & it worked like a charm !!!!! So here is some pixie dust for you:wizard::wizard:

Ditto here. We have been going for several years now and only until the last few months have we started to get any PIN codes. The only real difference is I have been saving itineraries and vacations and generally just playing around on the WDW website.

We got the FD PIN code and can use it for our annual Thanksgiving trip. Still haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I live in same state as OP. I have never recieved a pin. I did get one for DL a few months ago but never WDW.
