From several reliable and in the know sources, there will be a new marquee race at DL, WDW and DL Paris. The DLP will most likely be 2015 while the other two in 2014. This is from a higher up in the runD groups as well as a new job posting last week. Of lesser fact is a heavy rumor of a StarWars based race.
DIsney, known for dropping hints seems to have confirmed the SW weekend race. Two of their blog/tweet posts for the ToT weekend were of Star Wars characters. The other is that SW weekends start in May. A simple slide of one week could put a race date over opening weekend on May 4 - or said another way - May the 4th be with you.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I can't afford to keep running Disney, but I'd have to do a Star Wars race!

I need a little encouragement. I started the c25k in June. Ran my first 5k in aug and have 2 more since then. Well, I ran my first 10k on sat. I came in 286 out of 288. My time was 1:38. I ran interval 2 min 15 sec run, 1 min walk. It was raining on and off (hard at times). It was a flat course-Atlantic city boardwalk. On one hand, I am really happy I finished. That was my goal. On the other hand, I can't help but feel bummed that I was third to last. And the two behind me walked the. Whole thing. I think they let me beat them cause they felt sorry for me. I averaged 15:55 but need to do better than that for the PHM. I've come so far but, feel like I'm not cut out for running.…
Pleeeease don't let this beat you down! Sounds to me that you ran a fine race, a good race - you met your goal and deserve to feel great about that. :thumbsup2 Placing is so relative; with your time, you'd have been far from last in a couple 10Ks near me. It's hard, I know, to be a slower runner in a fast field, but try to remember that your only competition is yourself and you've got loads of time to progress.

Has anyone actually gotten an email back in regards to a submitted proof of time?? If so, how long did it take to get a response?
Once, I got a reply the next day. Another time it took a little over a week.

What are people sending in a email to run Disney? Is it a screen shot of there results, a email from the race?
I sent the required info about my qualifying race and a link to those results online, plus my registration info.

Has anyone actually gotten an email back in regards to a submitted proof of time?? If so, how long did it take to get a response? I'm so nervous about it now that we won't be allowed to bring our proof of time to the expo in order to be placed in the proper corral. Over on the Disney Pacebook Running group somebody was saying they suggested calling the company, but who do we call, RunDisney or Track Shack? Sorry for the tons of questions, PHM will be my first half and I just want everything to go smoothe!

I sent an email to DisneySports@trackshack.com, found on the RunDisney website on 10/3 and did not get a response until 10/11. I was double checking that the info on my registration form was accepted...my Tink registration was a little wonky, so I wasn't 100% sure the info made it there. They responded saying my proof of time on the registration was "incomplete" so I immediately replied with all of the proof of time info required and asked them to apply it to ALL FOUR races I was registered for, Tink 10k, Tink Half, Enchanted 10k and PHM. I've also asked them to confirm back to me that it's been done for all of the races, but haven't heard back...that was just Friday though, so I'm hoping to hear something by the end of the week maybe.

rosemom, you've already received such great advice, I just wanted to add a cheer for you: :cheer2:

As you can tell from the other responses, it's all over the map regarding the amount of time between it takes for trackshack to confirm that they received your proof of time and updated your registration. For my first proof of time submission, I sent it on Saturday, August 31 and received confirmation on Monday, September 9 - over two weeks! When I called, they said they were swamped from the DL 10K and Half. For my second update, I sent it on Saturday, September 28 and received confirmation on Monday, September 30. So for me, it's anywhere between over two weeks and just two days.

I called trackshack a couple times in between to check on the progress of my registration update, and then because I could no longer access my registration through active.com. They told me that once they update the proof of time, the registration is no longer in the active.com system. So I called runDisney and they offered to send me a screen shot of my new registration with proof of time and estimated finishing time. The second time, I wanted to confirm that they recorded my estimated finishing time accurately, so I called rundisney and they confirmed that they did but did not offer to send a screen shot of my new registration.

I mentioned this earlier, but I do think it's helpful to submit your anticipated finish time in addition to your proof of time. When I submitted my proof of time alone, trackshack anticipated that it would take longer for me to finish than most online calculators did. When I submitted my second proof of time with my own very conservative finish time estimate, it looks like they just plugged that in.

What are people sending in a email to run Disney? Is it a screen shot of there results, a email from the race?

The first time, I submitted my DL 10K, so I didn't include a link to the results because I assumed they had them! The second time, I submitted a time from a more local race, so I just e-mailed the link to the race results.

Thanks everybody! I woke up today and had my reply from Susan at TrackShack saying they received my proof of time and updated my account t accordingly. I guess it all depends on when you submit your email, because I'm sure they've been swamped lately with new TOT results and the deadline for the marathon. I got a response in just a little over a week.

What will be the best way to get from POR to starting point?

Honestly, the bus! If you have a car, you can drive. There is a small group of folks who walk to the start. I do not recommend walking and the mouse has started to formally discourage it.

Any information you can share about the cheer squad? My mom has purchased a package but we were wondering how it all worked that day, does she meet a group, ride the bus together to MK and the finish line?

Hello!
I just completed my first training run for PHM!!!
I did the DDD in Disneyland but I have not trained at all since then a part from the Montreal RnR half and a 10k on Sunday.

I did not do great at the RnR half with a time of 3:18, but I did ok at the 10k with a time of 1:24:31. I submitted that time along as with a new estimated time of 2:58 as per the runner's world calculator. I'm still waiting for their confirmation.

I found that there was a 10 minutes difference between that calculator and the McMillan one. Does anybody knows if the RD people use the new estimated time? If they use their own calculator, are their results closer to the Runner's work or to the McMillan?

I'm very exited to be back for a second PHM and proud to be able to provide a proof of time even if it's not really great. I plan to train well for that half and to be closer to 2:45 for PHM.

Thank you very much!

Hello!

:cheer2: I just took a look at my calendar and realized - EEK! - I'm officially into my combined WDW Half/GSC training schedule! Which atually involves a few weeks of shorter distances than I've been at, thankfully, but still... :yay:

Yes to the first - when I submitted my proof of time for TOT, they emailed confirmation and gave me a new estimated finish time. As for the second, I can't figure out what in heck rD uses as a calculator, but it sure is ambitious - I submitted a 1:16:23 10K and they gave me an estimated TOT finish of 2:01:00. I've yet to see a calculator that assumes a faster time at a longer distance! :scratchin

So when you submitted your 10k time did you also provide an estimated ToT time or let runDisney calculate it for you?

No, I had already entered an estimated finish when I registered, but didn't have proof at that time. I submitted the proof as a follow-up to support the estimated finish time I'd already entered. I think I had originally entered a 2:10:00 finish. Apparently rD felt I could do better, lol!

Ok. I submitted a time with a half marathon proof when I registered. But I have a 10k time this is faster but I'm not sure if I should put a new estimate or just let rD update it. I'm slow and not looking for B or C, just trying to get out of the last corral :-)

Pre-race freak out time! I signed up to for a 10k on the 27th to get a time to submit but now I don't think I'm ready. Should I just give it a go and see what happens? Worried my time will be cruddy and not worth. I guess it is good training time though...

I think you should give it a go! If anything, it gets you a race to focus on and, if you end up with a time to submit, even better! I had my first ever 10K on 9/28 and I didn't get nearly as much training in as I had originally planned. I still ran and I still met my goal (which was to finish!). It's all about the little victories along the way, right? Go for it and good luck!

I second running it. Why not? If you are more ready than you think, you will come out with a new found confidence. Slower, it cements your fear and gives you a strong message that it is time to buckle down. It never hurts to run a race as a training run. The more times you hear the gun, feel the adrenaline flowing and then step across the line and have to tame all the excitement, the better off you will be on the PHM race day.

Have a great run
