rosemom, you've already received such great advice, I just wanted to add a cheer for you:
Has anyone actually gotten an email back in regards to a submitted proof of time?? If so, how long did it take to get a response? I'm so nervous about it now that we won't be allowed to bring our proof of time to the expo in order to be placed in the proper corral. Over on the Disney Pacebook Running group somebody was saying they suggested calling the company, but who do we call, RunDisney or Track Shack? Sorry for the tons of questions, PHM will be my first half and I just want everything to go smoothe!
As you can tell from the other responses, it's all over the map regarding the amount of time between it takes for trackshack to confirm that they received your proof of time and updated your registration. For my first proof of time submission, I sent it on Saturday, August 31 and received confirmation on Monday, September 9 - over two weeks! When I called, they said they were swamped from the DL 10K and Half. For my second update, I sent it on Saturday, September 28 and received confirmation on Monday, September 30. So for me, it's anywhere between over two weeks and just two days.
I called trackshack a couple times in between to check on the progress of my registration update, and then because I could no longer access my registration through active.com. They told me that once they update the proof of time, the registration is no longer in the active.com system. So I called runDisney and they offered to send me a screen shot of my new registration with proof of time and estimated finishing time. The second time, I wanted to confirm that they recorded my estimated finishing time accurately, so I called rundisney and they confirmed that they did but did not offer to send a screen shot of my new registration.
I mentioned this earlier, but I do think it's helpful to submit your anticipated finish time in addition to your proof of time. When I submitted my proof of time alone, trackshack anticipated that it would take longer for me to finish than most online calculators did. When I submitted my second proof of time with my own very conservative finish time estimate, it looks like they just plugged that in.
What are people sending in a email to run Disney? Is it a screen shot of there results, a email from the race?
The first time, I submitted my DL 10K, so I didn't include a link to the results because I assumed they had them! The second time, I submitted a time from a more local race, so I just e-mailed the link to the race results.
