MM: Could you tell me the e-mail or weblink you got this info from? Thanks!
Also, could you explain what that is in your Avatar pic? I've been staring at it for the longest time, and cannot figure out what it is...?:confused3

It looks like either race medals or name tags. :confused3

Caitsmama .... I have been using both a belt that holds bottles and packs by Amphipod. Lately I have been using my belt to hold my pocket filled with my Goo (i have a Goo flask but haven't been bothering with it lately) and my Camera/case. I have been carrying a water bottle holder that also has a pocket that holds my phone. The bottle holder I use is by Nathan. Runs around $15 i think. Running shops and Dicks Sporting Store are two places for sure. The bottle it comes with I think is 20 oz?

At the Marathon Expo I picked up a Fuel Belt hand held that I think was around $10 or $12 and has a 10 oz bottle. Smaller pocket too more to hold a key. But I figured it would nice for my short summer runs.

Early morning? Yes. We do get up early on race days. :scared: I'm not a morning person and you'll probably spot me looking green and half a sleep. I usually have a horrible time eating before the race because I am so nervous and not used to that early of a morning. Reason why I toss in a couple of breakfast options but always a banana. :thumbsup2

because I freak out over traffic I am always on the 1st bus out of the resort which is at *gasp* 3 am. I'm pretty sure we were up at 2 am this year but we had 3 women getting ready to run plus our support person and 1 bathroom :scared: But still in the past it was at least 2:30 am. Set the alarm and set a wake up. I actually have a wind up clock I now bring too LOL (2 years ago now our wake up call for a thanksgiving race never came, luckily we woke up on our own).

FLAGS! Ok hopefully someone else will chime in but according to the MArathon program page 19

"anyone who is not able to maintain a 16-min per mile pace will be picked up and transported to the Family Reunion Area at Epcot. You can be picked up at any point along the course for not maintaining a 16-minute per mile pace. Pace Cyclists will be on the course indicating when runners are behind pace by placing orange flags at mile markers according to the official pace time. If you reach a mile marker with an orange flag, please note you are behind the required 16-minute per mile pace and can be picked up at any time"

not that is from the January program. and we have training and still time to continue our training and we WILL BE POSITIVE and STAY POSITIVE.

:cheer2: :cheer2:YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Next up baggage drops :rotfl: No worries! Seriously! It's going to be a great time. :thumbsup2 And isn't the start now 6:30 am? We get to sleep in a whoopin' 1/2 hour :rotfl2:

Have a great week training!!!!

Ok, last bus may leave at 4am?!!! Seriously -- last bus is THAT early?!! Race starts at 6am right?! what the heck do you do for 2 hours?? Seems like way too early! Meaning we will / should be getting UP at like 2-3 a.m.?! Holy cow..... What the heck did i get into?! My body/mind is NOT fond of getting up and eating at that hour!! I thought we would be fine to arrive at race course at about 5a.m. -- ugh.
Ok, so when you see a blonde chick passed out on the hammocks at the Poly with a drink in her hand -- just LEAVE ME ALONE. ;) Cuz there is no way i am gonna make it til midnight at the party if i don't sleep after!! LOL

I guess for eating, i am planning on a banana (i also love bananas before i run), and probabaly a Zone p.b. bar. Oh, and definately havin' coffee too.. there is NO WAY i can function without (let alone run) without it.

Question -- for those that drink alot - (meaning WATER people!!! LOL ;) or sportsdrinks) during the race, what do you use to carry it? I am a sipper - i love to sip on either water or a sports drink the whole race, and i don't want to rely on just the water stops.. but am not sure what i want to use to carry the drink in... without weighing me down too much.

Lauren, maybe it was 4 mi. and i got ahead.. well, that's good, since i didn't get it in today either.. LOL Oh well, tomorrow is a new week - i had 2 Sangria's today instead and bday cake. LMAO.

I just want to remind everyone that the Princess Half Marathon starts at 6:30 am because of the time change. It was originally set for 6am if I remember correctly but then they moved it to 6:30 since time changes that night. Make sure that you all change your clocks before going to bed!!!!! The Half & Full Marathon in January list that they started at 5:50am. That may make a 1/2 hour difference in the time the buses are running for this.

OMG, if i see a flag i will cry!!!!! LOL

Nope... thinking positive --- NO FLAGS WILL BE SEEN BY THE WISHER'S!!!!!

That's right Shelley, i don't know why i typed 6am.. sorry!! I plan on being in bed that night (Sat) by like 8pm for sure!

And isn't the start now 6:30 am? We get to sleep in a whoopin' 1/2 hour :rotfl2:
Don't forget it is daylight savings! We lose an hour!!!! :crazy2:

Seriously, thanks Diane for all your help. :thumbsup2

Remember ladies, we said at the beginning of this thing that no one would be left behind and I intend to uphold that! We WILL complete this race! We WILL have that beautiful tiara bling to show off at the parks! And we WILL do it together! :cool1:

Have you guys decided what you are wearing for the Princess Half? Diane, I know it is cooler in January but how soon do your "extra" clothes come off? I plan on doing some shopping at the thrift store in town for some throwaway clothes if the is necessary. What do you think? I can't believe that this will be all over in 6 weeks. We head to Disney in less than 5 weeks.

I honestly didn't think about "throwaway clothes"! Ugh... i think i need to make a "to-do" list tomorrow....
I hadn't thought about freezing my butt off at the start line for 2 hrs prior to the race!!

I need everyone to cross their fingers that my work issues will resolve themselves before March 4th. If not, I am going to miss out on this one.:sad2:

Aside from the fact that I have registration and airfare already paid for, I really really want to do this race!!! I'm even trying to find an affordable way to change my plane ticket to work around my work.

Please everyone make a "WISH" that I will be there!! If not, you will all need to keep Diane out of trouble!:rotfl2:

Oh no! pixiedust: You have to be there. I'm looking forward to meeting you and Diane. I have heard so much about you over the last two or three years. Diane's stories of her Disney runs with you is what got me on this path.

Yes, it's true you can be cold waiting to start :cold: Check your local stores for clearance items or things you might have that are getting ready to be retired. I noticed Target had some things on clearance. Like a throw away jacket or sweatpants than can easily be pulled off.

It's hard to say with the weather. In January we've had some crazy weather. In 2006 we froze :cold: our tushes off, my medal photo has my GLOVES tucked into my water belt. Another I remember WISHer's mom telling me she wore her sweats for the entire race, she was from a warmer state. That year I wore tights and had 3 tops on. A base layer tech, a pull over tech shirt (3/4 zip front type) AND a running jacket. The jacket came on and off thru the entire race along with my gloves. In 2007 and 2008 it was much warmer with 2007 being the hottest :sunny: of my races. 2009 was cooler. It was in the 40's as we walked to the corrals.

We've had years (2006) were we had frost advisories and I think it was 2007 we had the possible rain/thunder as we went to bed the night before, never go it thankfully. 2008 it was misting as we sat in the staging but it stopped almost as fast as it started.

You just never know! This year here I am in MI and been running in the 30's and see the 50's and think hey no problem. HA! I left my toss aways at home and ended up buying $17 worth of pants and jacket to toss. I tossed the pants in the corral and wore the jacket for the 1st mile, was cold but tied it to my waist and handed it off to my Mom on the MK only because I thought I might want it at the end because I was still cold. I packed it and brought it home for next time ;)

Now some people will wear a garbage bag and that works well. Like the huge leaf bags. I remember Anne saying something about San Antonio people wearing bags that went to the ground.

When in the corral you will pass the clothing to the edges where the clothes will be collected, washed and donated by Disney. Clothes will continue to be tossed along the course. They ask that you toss it as far off the course as possible.

If it is cold remember there is a baggage drop and you can leave a jacket or warmer shirt to toss on after the race. But everyone dropped on the course is gone forever. More on the baggage at a later time ;) We'll have to bump up the Marathon packing lists and such :thumbsup2

And Mousemgr I am never in trouble I am a perfect angel. And I still say it was my Garmin that made me do it. :p

Suggestions for cold (but not REALLY cold) weather: Jim and I wear clear disposable rain ponchos (less than $1 at WalMart) while we are waiting in the corrals when it is cold. That way our bibs and WISH shirts are visible, and the poncho retains heat, especially when we are sitting on the ground. I've also cut old tshirts up the front and worn them until the race starts as something just enough to keep me from getting chilled waiting until the race starts. You really need to be prepared for just about anything except snow in WDW!

OK.
2. I just found out yesterday, I have Celiac disease. Do you think if I called POR ahead of time, they might have gluten free pasta for me for the pasta meal?

All Disney restaurants have gluteen free pasta, you just need to ask to see the chef.
I am allergic to gluten too.
