DD just turned 20!!!! I still don't understand how my kids keep getting older even though I don't!

Still haven't broken the news to DD that the rest of us are going to WDW in two weeks!

DSs soccer game has been rained out so it's a day of cleaning and laundry for me! It has been raining here steadily since Wednesday night! Some flooding and lots of flood watches. We're safe 'cause we're way up in the mountains but I do have to keep a watch for a basement to flood.

Hello everyone and good morning!!!

Yesterday was my brother's wedding and it was cold and cloudy outside - I froze!! I didn't have a coat on, so I can use that as my defense about being wimpy about the cold .

Everything for the wedding went well, except for the rings - they forgot their rings. My brother told my SIL to bring them, and she thought he was going to bring them. So my mom took my dad's ring off his hand and gave it to my SIL to use for the ceremony and her mom did the same for her. I told them that every wedding needs a memory to tell their grandchildren - the forgetting of the rings will be theirs

Good morning everyone!!!! (I wish we had a moon smilie because it's always dark outside now when I wake up )

We had the most wonderful day yesterday!!
*First of all, we had the most beautiful autumn weather. It was cool but very sunny outside, and it just smelled like fall.
*We then took a long ride to a farm that makes cheese and ice cream so we could buy cheese and we were hoping to buy pumpkins there too. They had no pumpkins, so we went for another ride.
*On the way home, we stumbled across the most wonderful pumpkin farm. I was so glad I took my camera because I took so many wonderful pictures of my kids amoungst all these pumpkins.
*After we came home and set up all our pumpkins, corn stalks, and hay blocks and made a fire and had dinner outside. We had hotdogs, chips, and smores The girls really enjoyed this!!!
*Then after the girls went to bed my DH and I sat in the hot tub to relax. I told Kevin that the day was so wonderful, that we need to make this our family tradition for every year.

I hope you guys had as nice as a weekend as I had. Now, reality is setting in that I have to go back to work today. So, I better run and I'll talk to you all later. Have a great day!!!

slo - it sounds like ya'll really did have a wonderful fall weekend! I can't put pumpkins out yet because they will rot before Halloween! It has been cooler here, but we are still comfy in shorts. DS will wear shorts to school into December! I like to put out bales of hay and mums. DH and I have our 12th anniversary this weekend! We have a bye this weekend (no football game) so we are driving to Cheaha State Park for a getaway! No kids!! Yes we do have some mountains in AL! I am hoping to just hike and relax!
eeyoresmountainpals - how goes your packing? Is everyone excited? My DD 17 isn't going with us in February and I am going to miss her! This is her senior year in high school and she doesn't want to miss Mardi Gras with her friends. I understand, but it feel odd to plan a trip without her! Does your DD know yet that ya'll are going?

If you are there and see me please come up to me .... I have a DIS Button that says MAD4MICKEY on it and we are going to the party in Fire Dept shirts and I wear a placstic fire hat . Cheap costume I know LOL

slo ~ When we lived in FL many years ago we did have an annual family tradition like this. We would drive out into the country to find the perfect pumpin and spend the day looking at all the relaxing, country sites and longing for "someday" moving to the country. We only kept the tradition for about 4 years, 'cause instead of driving out to the country once a year for a pumpkin we finally moved to the country. Now we can just grow our own pumpkins (although this year we didn't).

eeyoresmountainpals - You have grown your own pumpkins?! How fun!!!! Are the boys getting excited about your trip?

Yes, we've grown pumpkins almost every year. In fact, one of the men from our church always sells pumpkin seeds every spring. Ten seeds for $10. You can only buy ten from him. Then in the end of October they have a pumpkin contest to see who was able to grow the biggest pumpkin from those seeds. We've never even come close to winning. About three years ago the winner was something like 300 lbs. The pumpkin contest is all part of a party where everyone brings a regular covered dish and something baked with pumpkin. It's a lot of fun. And then the man donates all the money from the pumpkin seeds to the elementary school!

Yes, we're all getting excited about the trip! I really need to start packing, though!

I'm off work today so I'm heading down to Charlotte (3 hours away) for the day to see DD. I think while I'm there I'll break the news to her that we're going to WDW in ten days.

I got it in an exchange my exchange buddy had it made and sent it to me . It is really simple and cute and there is a cute story about the ol button.

Last year when I was taking my trip to Disneyland I was waiting for the train and a lady walked up to me and said " Mishell?" I just smiled at her and said "Hi how do I knwo you ?" she told me she was Nancy and had been my exchange buddy LOL She knew because of the button being on my backpack it was me . Now how strange is that ??? Her name on here is Meriweather you should PM her and ask her where she got it from .

Good evening everyone - I'm Dising for a couple of minutes before CSI New York comes on.

So.....I have to vent a little bit. This morning I got my 4th eye infection since July 28th . I have antibiotic drops that I use everytime, but this infection keeps on reaccuring . My eye doctor thought that it was a reaction to the pool water and I felt that made sense. But, my pool is now covered and I've been nowhere around chlorinated water Everytime this infection comes I have to throw away all my eye makeup and buy it all new again. I'm starting to wonder if my eye shadow is causing this. I used to never wear eyeshadow and I started wearing this when these infections began. I haven't wore any makeup on my eyes since Sept. 15th (the last occurance of this infection - the day before we left on vacation) and then I wore some to my brother's wedding Saturday and everyday since and BOOM I have another infection. I'm curious on what my eye doctor will say tomorrow.

I go to bed saying good night to you all and now I'm saying good morning My laptop is on my kitchen table and that's why I'm able to post as often as I do. If my laptop didn't work then I would rarely post because our other computer is in the basement in Kevin's office (to out of the way ).
