Good morning!

How is everyone today? It is so hot here right now - especially with the humidity. It makes everything just miserable! This will be the last week of football practice for 5 days a week. Next week will be only 3 days  !
School is going well. James has a man for his primary teacher which he is pretty excited about.

I am off to make breakfast!!

It's a very rainy morning here :umbrella:
That's good, because I don't have to water my flowers now :teeth:

Karen - That's great that this is James last week of 5 days a week football practice - I bet he's so glad!!! It's gotta be so hot for him to wear all that gear :guilty:
**Stephanie has the possibility of getting a man teacher this year, and she's not happy at all :sad2: I'm glad James is enjoying his man teacher :teacher:

Well, I'm off to jump in the shower.
Have a good day today!!

:surfweb:

I had a really nice customer (husband and wife) yesterday. The husband used to be one of the marines that would stand guard at Air Force One and the presidential helicopter for President Regan. He's framing a couple of things from when he did that. I meet some of the coolest people, and I love hearing their stories :goodvibes

I have to go water some flowers outside, that I didn't do last night.
I know it's suppossed to rain today, but these pots are under the eve of my house,
and they never get any rain :sad2:
Have a good day today everyone!!!

 Happy High School Musical 2 Day!!!!!!!!!!
I'm really looking forward to watching this tonight.
I'm so glad that I work so close to home so I won't miss any of it :thumbsup2

Have a great day today everyone!!

Emily and some of her friends got together to watch High School Musical tonite! They liked it.How about you?

Stephanie and I liked it too :thumbsup2
I really like that song "What Time is it?", and I have a hard time getting it out of my head:rolleyes:

Did you watch it?

No I didn't watch - shhhh - don't tell anyone - we don't have the Disney Channel! We are working on Jim for approval. We did Blockbuster online for the summer so the kids would have lots of movies. Now that school is back in we are going to cancel and I hope he will OK the Disney Channel. The kids love it!!
Emily liked the song The Music in Me. :rolleyes1
We have our first practice game today. It is going to be so hot. We play in Bayou la Batre today. It's about an hour drive!! Jim & James are OK with it though because the Bayou has the best concession stand ever!!! They are a fishing/shrimping community so they have shrimp poboys, oyster poboys, etc... at their concession stand.

Well, I am headed to Tuscaloosa for a quick visit with Sarah this morning. She asked me to come up for Bid Day. I am going to spend the night and take her out to lunch on Monday and celebrate her birthday one day early. I am excited to see her apartment! I will check in when I get home!

Karen - Is Sarah's birthday Tuesday???? If it is, then she shares a birthday with Katie :teeth: Enjoy your visit with her, and happy early birthday to her too!!! :bday: :cake:

We are celebrating Katie's birthday early today. The family is coming over at 2pm for her party - she is very excited!!!! :cool1: I'm happy she's getting older, but at the same time, it's kinda depressing. My baby is going to be 4:eek: where did the time go:confused: I wish I could stop them growing, and keep both girls the ages they are right now.

Well, I gotta run and get ready for this party
Have a good day today!!!

Katie's birthday party was a success, and she received a lot of nice presents:goodvibes We all went to bed with a stomachache though after eating to many snacks, then to much cake, and then greasy Pizza Hut pizza  But the stomachache was worth it, because it all tasted so good :thumbsup2

Now Katie is excited about having her birthday at school tomorrow (her actual birthday). We are buying Krispy Kreme donuts (her choice) and taking them to daycare for her to share with her friends:goodvibes Then tomorrow night, we are going to take her out for ice cream at Culvers (that's a chain around here) I'm feeling a little sad about working on her birthday, but I don't have a choice.

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!

slo - I am glad the party went well!
I had a good visit with Sarah. We bought her some groceries today, bought her books and bought her some little bday gifts from James & Emily. It was a nice day.
Now I am home and fixing dinner. I cancelled cheer practice tonitr because I wasn't sure what time I would be home. Talk to you in the morning!

Today is Stephanie's first day of school, which means I start getting up earlier  I was really dreading this day - I was really enjoying Stephanie being off school. The thought about fighting to study and do homework doesn't do much for me :sad2: Hopefully, since she'll be at the store after school everyday, she'll do her homework easier than if she was at home.

Today is also Katie's 4th birthday :goodvibes I feel sad that I can't take her out to lunch today (I've always taken the kids out to lunch on their birthday), but we'll take her out for ice cream tonight instead:) My mom got her donuts yesterday (so I didn't have to go last night) for her to take to school today - she is excited about that!!!! Then I also have some more presents to give her tonight. She should have a good day today!!! :dance3:

Karen - I"m glad you had a nice visit with Sarah :goodvibes It's gotta be hard having her away - have you gotten used to it? Or do you never get used to it?

Well, I gotta start thinking about getting Stephanie up for school :teacher: Today will be easy, tomorrow may still be easy, but Thursday she'll be tired of getting up and won't want to do it anymore:rolleyes: Oh the joys of school starting :sad2:

Have a good day today!!!

Katie had a wonderful birthday yesterday :) She took her donuts to school, and she said all her friends loved them :goodvibes Then last night we took her out to dinner, and we all had ice cream afterwards for dessert:goodvibes Then when we came home, we had a couple of more presents for her that she was thrilled to open. All and all, she had a great day!!!! :thumbsup2

Stephanie's first day went well, and she really loves her new teacher :goodvibes Apparently this teacher told the kids she doesn't give a lot of homework - we'll see about that  I don't know if I believe it - but I could be proven wrong

Well, I'm off to get into the shower and start my day
I have a lot to do at work, and I'm starting to feel the pressure of not having an experienced hand to help me with it. But, I'm not complaining, because I'm so grateful to be having a good August at the store :thumbsup2

Have a good day today everyone!!!

What a sleepless night we all had last night.
Between terrible storms, tornado warnings, Kevin's fire dept. pager going off and him coming and going, and the girls in and out of the room, I should have never gone to bed last night  I am so tired this morning :faint: There is suppossed to be more storms tonight - I hope they aren't as severe as last night (fingers crossed), we all need to sleep.

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Have a good day today everyone!!!

slo - I am sorry you had such a bad night!! Maybe ya'll will be able to get to bed early tonite to make up for it.
We are just settling into the routine here - school & work, football & cheerleading. I feel like I am tired all the time!
Well I am off to iron a patch on Emily's school sweater!

The weather here was at an all time worse yesterday and last night.
Our retention area in front of our house is 7/8 full - that is scaring me :scared1: Especially since I'm not home to keep an eye on it today. We were all up until 2am last night, so I'm exhausted this morning :faint: I just heard the weather and today is suppossed to be just like yesterday - OMG!!!!!! All I want is a good nights sleep - that's all I want:sad1:

Boy, I wish Stephanie's school was either cancelled or delayed (streets have got to be flooded somewhere), but they're not :sad2: All of these kids are going to be like walking zombies, because I'm sure most of them didn't get much sleep :faint:

Well, I gotta go and start waking Stephanie up for school
She looks so peaceful on my floor - I really hate having to wake her :guilty:
I carried Katie off to here bed, luckily for her, she can sleep until 8:30am :) but she'll still be exhausted. I feel sorry for the daycare teachers - can you imagine having a room full of crabby, overtired, 3 & 4 year olds:scared1: God Bless the daycare teachers!!!!!

Have a good day today everyone!!

Well, maybe you can all sleep in tomorrow!! I can't remember our last rain!

I am trying to plan a suprise for the kids and I think Jim is actually going along with it! We are trying to plan a one night stay at WL concierge level at the beginning of our trip. We have never done concierge level and only stayed at CR a couple of times (we are pretty much value/mod people). Emily always says she wants to stay there. Of course Sarah has to know so she can make flight arrangements, but we will suprise J & E!:thumbsup2

Here's my last posts that I did yesterday and today on my Chicago thread.......

Kevin is at the firehouse, which is next to the town hospital, which both are next to a town creek. Kevin called and said the creek has gone over the banks, and the hospital ER is getting flooded out  (the hospital is lower than the firehouse). The water is going straight into the lobby/waiting area:eek: There are many slab houses in this area that Kevin feels may need to be evacuated. They have the rescue boat ready, and will take action when needed. This is going to be a very long day and night for the firefighters/EMTs :headache: , if all this rain they are predicting truly does come, which it probably will :sad2:

The evacuation has begun

Kevin called me and said he was waist deep in water, and it's getting nothing but higher:eek: He also said that they just called for a car fire somewhere, but there's no one to respond to that, so I'm not sure what's going to happen with that. Pretty scary stuff!!!!!! I just hope that we aren't next:wizard:

edited to add:
Please keep Kevin and the rest of the firefighters in your thoughts and prayers. It's times like these that make me very nervous because these guys and gals on the FD are very tired and stressed out, which plays such a toll on them. They've had so many calls these past couple of days, heck, these past couple of weeks, and they are exhausted. They are a great bunch of people, and this town is so lucky to have them!!!!!

I'm home now, but before I came home, me and the girls took a drive around town. This place is utter craziness (in a very organized way). There are neighboring police depts and fire depts helping out with directing traffic, and whatever else needs to be done. There are 3 staging areas where people are filling sandbags - this creek is expected to still rise another couple feet yet:eek: Kevin and our neighbor Rob (also a fireman/EMT) came home long enough to change clothes (I didn't see them, it was before I came home) and they were off again. If they come home tonight, I'll be shocked. He's running on pure adrenaline now, and when he does come home to crash, he's going to crash hard :faint: I just hope he's able to get some sleep before he has to go back to work on Monday.

Kevin made is home around midnight, and was totally exhausted :faint:
Luckily, we made it through the night w/o any calls, so he could sleep alot:)
When he came home last night, he had bad news about our parents subdivision - it is now flooding with sewer backup:eek: There were some streets that were totally underwater, but not bad enough for an evacuation. Luckily, our parents streets are fine, and I hope it stays that way (fingers crossed).

On a slightly different subject.
Kevin told me that Culvers brought the guys tons and tons of food - wasn't that nice of them?! He said there was everything from hamburgers, cheeseburgers, different chicken sandwiches and more. It's good to know that the guys weren't hungry:)

I'll keep you guys posted as things happen here.
Have a good day!!

You will love love love the WL!!!!
Staying concierge is very nice, but I've never done it at WL, so I don't know what that's like. We've stayed concierge at The Poly and at The Contemporary, is it was great both times :thumbsup2
