I did get a chance to sleep in some this morning - it was nice!!!


Yesterday was a great day!!
The Pierogi Fest was very crowded due to beautiful weather, but that's okay. We enjoyed it as normal Then the Tastefully Simple party I went to last night was so so much fun too!! I've never been to one of these party before, and I left there with a stomachache because I ate so much I bought a ton of stuff, and now I can hardly wait to make it


Today we are going to hang out at the pool all day



Karen - Sounds like your going to be busy with cheer season starting How's the new job going? Have you heard from your mom? Where are they staying?

sandy - They arrived safely yesterday and stayed offsite. They shopped at DTD and hit the pool at their hotel. They were at Pop this am probably at 6:30 to check in, etc... They didn't expect the room to be ready, just doing the paperwork, etc... They were the first (and only) people in the bus line when I called at 7am. They called a little after 8 from Epcot - they were picked as the Soarin' famliy of the day and got the first ride all by themselves! Let the magic begin, I say!! I asked them to ride Soarin' an extra time just for me this trip (I love it and they always are happy with one time) so they dedicated this ride to me!!
I went online to the Disney florist to arrange a goodie basket for my mom. I hope it is in the room when they get back from the park!

I'm glad that you mom and kids made it there okay and are having a good time I really love Soarin too The next time we go to WDW we can ride it as a family because Katie will be tall enough

I was up to late paying bills last night - I hate paying bills (who doesn't). At least I can say it's done for a week - woo hoo!!!

It's going to be a really hot this week - maybe we can do some nighttime swimming

I forgot to tell you that I hired a new employee Monday.

She's very young (16) and I hoping that she can get fully trained for Christmas . With her being so young, I hoping that I will have her until she goes away to college, so we'll see what happens . I won't be able to leave her alone for a long time, but I think she'll be fine to leave alone (after some training) for me to go run and do an errand, or go on an appointment.

My new employee that started yesterday seems like she's going to be very pleasant to work with . She said that she had a fun first day, which makes me happy because that means she'll come back


Well, I have to get ready for a Chamber of Commerce lunch today. Allie is working during the day, so I can go to this, and then I'm closing the store tonight.

I've had a pretty busy morning already.

I got up at 6:30am and watered my flowers
Then did a load of laundry
Got me and the girls ready, and then had them at school by 8:30am (Stephanie is going to the Chicago Historical Museum or something like that)
Then I went grocery shopping
AFter that I went home and put my groceries away, made some beds, put away some laundry, and then came to work so I can rest



I got some awesome news from my daycare yesterday. They are going to pick Stephanie up from school, and then drop her off at my store - isn't that fantastic?!?! That news made my whole August!!! Stephanie is so excited!!! Even though this isn't home, it's sorta home away from home. I love my daycare some much - they are so good to me!!!



Well, I gotta run and get some stuff done around here!!

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday


I decided to sleep in a little before work, and then at work I didn't have a chance to post. I had a decent amount of things to do, and then I had 3 customers, and I also had some visitors. That's one nice thing about owning your own business - you can have visitors come see you, and it's okay


I came home yesterday to Katie not feeling well I took her temperature, and she had a fever - poor thing!!! We sat on the front porch and then I put her to bed early. It must be a virus, because I gave her some Motrin before bed, and an hour later when I felt her, she was as cool as a cucumber. She woke up at 4am uncomfortable again, and I gave her some more Motrin, which helped her go back to sleep. So, with her being sick, we are staying home all day today, which is okay, because I have alot of housework to do


Kevin, his 2 friends, and my FIL are going to a race in Michigan today. They left at 4am, so this is a long day for them. I sure hope this rain clears up, because it would be a drag for them to drive all that way, and then theirs no race



Karen - Have you heard from your mom or the kids? I bet they are having a great time!!!!

Sorry for staying a way so long - had an internet issue!

Mom & the kids are home and had a great time. Mom was sick the whole trip - we found her an MD down there & she started her antibiotics there. They still had a great time - just took it easy and paced themselves.

My kids go back to school on Thursday. We start earlier every year and it seems like we get fewer holidays. I wish we would just go toyear round school. From what I've read, the places that do seem to have good results.

Sarah is back at Alabama. They are getting ready for Rush at her sorority. I am going up for Bid Day - the last day of Rush. I am going to spend a couple of nights with her before she starts school.

Football and cheerleading are back in full swing and man is it hot!!!!

I had a girls night out last night with a couple of the ladies I work with. We had a room at the Grand Casino. We wnet to dinner at another casino and then went back to ours. I am not a big gambler - it was just a fun night away. The casino's in Mississippi are about an hour away. I was home bright and early for dog baths!! I also watched/helped Jim cut down a massive pine tree! Now I am in for some AC and an internet fix! Next up I think I will nap!!That is my kind of afternoon!!!

We booked our excursions last night for our cruise

Kevin is scuba diving in Cozumel and Grand Cayman
Me and the girls are swimming with dolphins in Cozumel, and then we are taking a glass bottom boat in Grand Cayman.
We are all going to the pirate museum in Key West, and then I would like to take the girls to a butterfly place in Key West also.
We are doing nothing at Castaway Cay, because there's nothing really appropriate for Katie's age. So we'll just sit on the beach and play in the ocean


I'm starting to get really excited about this cruise , and I'm so glad I didn't cancel it.
We really need this vacation!!!!



Karen - I'm glad your mom and the kids had a good time, but how sad that she got sick I hope it was nothing to serious. After my grandma died is when I started having a ton of health issues (do you remember?). I often wonder if it was caused by alot of stress associated with my grandma's death. I hope your mom is doing better now - give her a hug from me

We had a very loud, stormy night last night!!!!
Stephanie came and slept on the floor, but Katie slept right threw it
Katie is normally the one that wakes up with the slightest sound of thunder
If I knew that storm was going to roll in, I wouldn't have watered my flowers last night

The first day of school went well! Everyone is tired. Emily is watching ESPN - I know!! But, a team from Mobile (her friends) are playing in the Little League World Series. Of course James is watching, too but we are used to his ESPN obsession! She barely ate dinner at the restaurant because the game was on there!

Well, we survived day 2 of school! James has already had practice for football 5 days this week & now his coach has called a practice for Saturday!!!! UGH! James is not too thrilled - he informed me that he has better things to do on Saturday. Hopefully it will only last an hour or so!

I had a great week at work last week, but no business yesterday You would think that more people would shop on Saturday, than during the week I'm actually starting to feel bad for my new employee, because whenever she works, there's never any customers It's going to be very difficult to train her, when I have no customers to show her how to help them


I'm sure glad to be home today After working all day, and then going to church, I went back to work until 9:30pm. I had some things I needed to get done by Monday afternoon, and I wanted to do them w/o interruptions. So the girls came with, and we turned up Radio Disney real loud, and they had a great time playing out front, while I worked


Today I'm going to put my butt on a pool float, and I'm going to soak up some sun I actually have some errands to run, but I'd much rather take advantage of the pool on a day like today


Karen -I hope James practice wasn't to long yesterday. Sometimes these coaches expect to much from kids - they deserve a break so they don't get burned out


Well, I think I may go and make some banana bread before we go outside today. I have all these browning bananas, and I hate to just throw them into the forest for the critters.

We had a great family day yesterday
We started out doing nothing in the morning, and then at noon we moved out to the pool. I forgot to put sunscreen on my face, and needless to say, I could feel it frying when we were outside (and it's really red and sunburned now - yikes it hurts!!). So at 2:45 we decided to come in and shower and then go to the mall. So we did that, and then we ate dinner at Pizzeria Uno - yummy We then came home, I watered my flowers, put Katie to bed, and then we watched tv for awhile. What a nice day!!!!
