Good morning everyone.

Sorry I haven't been on here in what seems like forever. I've taken on some new responsibilities at work and have been working 50-60 hours a week for the past couple of weeks.

I just wanted to drop in here the a.m. to check on you Sandy. I've been thinking about you a lot the past couple of days with all the flooding up there. I'm glad to see your posts and know that you are okay. I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that Kevin will get a break from this soon. I know he must be exhausted!

Things have been very bad for this town and many of it's residents.
I was really worried that we would be one of those residents, but thank God I was wrong. But, with everything that happened, we are putting flood insurance on our house, because our luck can't last forever

You really are working alot!!!!
Are you always going to have to work alot of hours like that, or is it just temporary? Hopefully it's just temporary for you - but I bet the money is pretty good

Yawn........

We had an awesome family day yesterday until the ride home. We first got on the expressway, and the traffic was awful!!! The radio reported that where we were at was 1 1/2 hours to go about miles It took us forever to reach an exit and go a different way. When we did, and were about 20 minutes from home, Kevin hit a pot hole as big as our house (he was pulling over to let an ambulance go by). We heard a big bang from the car, and we got out of the car to see what happened, the car blew out 2 tires (it was 9:30pm). So Kevin called his dad to call a tow truck, and to come get us. By the time all this happened, and we got home, it was 11pm - the kids were so tired!!! Stephanie isn't going to want to get up for school soon At least Katie can sleep in for awhile

sandy - oh my goodness! You guys can't seem to catch a break!! I would have to take a day off from work and school for everybody to sleep!! Hang in there - it has to get better! I will keep praying for all of you!

It took ALL of yesterday, but I finsihed the papers to certify the cheerleaders (80 ) of them! Tonite I will go to certification for a few hours - yuck! Then I should be done!!!! I have 3 girls that won't be certified tonite because their moms didn't send pictures, so I will add them later! This is the part of being director that i do not like!!

Isn't that the truth!!!!
But, it could have been much worse, so I have much to be grateful for.
We did get the estimate to fix the car, and it's around $2000 We aren't going to claim this, because it will raise our payments and will stay with us for 3 years. So we'll just pay it, and hope it doesn't happen again.

How did everything go at certification? Hopefully it all went smooth.

I looked in to the Swan & Dolphin for our one night stay. They look nice & I hear the beds are great. Plus they give nurses a discount!

Sleep is getting back to normal - thank goodness, because I need my sleep to function properly If I get less than 6 hours, I feel like I have a hang over the next day.

School for Stephanie is going okay, but she's starting to bring home homework, and she hates homework (which makes me do this ) Hopefully, she'll start getting a routine and it will make doing homework easier for her.

I've never stayed at the S&D, but I had a friend that did, and she loved it I think you will like it there, and the discount is an awesome bonus!!!

I had a reply to my email to the Swan/Dolphin. They will let you have a roll away (for James if Sarah comes early) so we won't have to get 2 rooms. So this treat is ON!

The homework grind gets to James, too! His teacher this year makes him do a creative writing paper each week! UGH! James does a good job, but it is like pulling teeth to get him to do the work! Oh - the sighing, the crying, the stopmping of the feet! (where is the tag fairy when you need her?) It is all very stressful! But in the end, we get it all done and turned in! I guess every family struggles with homework!

I have been driving to see a patient in Grovehill all week. This is about a 3 hour round trip. I really don't mind! I just am not looking forward to the drive today! All the names of the small towns I go thru have lost their appeal! What i would really like to do is stay and home & do this all day and then take a big nap!

Well, I am off to wash my hair!

That's great about the S&D!! I can hardly wait to hear what you think of this place. Like I said, my friend really liked it, so I"m sure you will too!!!

My biggest homework struggle with Stephanie is reading - she hates reading when she has to read. The stories that she has to read are awful, so I don't blame her for not wanting to read those, but I wish she would just do it, and be done with it

I'm really enjoying my job. The drive yesterday was fine.

James' teacher requires lots of reading, but he lets them pick books they like. He also reads to them in class. They only have a half day today and then out Monday! Emily took the day off (with mom's approval) to go to Valdosta, GA. One of her friend's has a lake house there. They are also going to Wild Adventure. They also have front row seats to see the Jonas Brothers (spelling?)!!!! This is the group that has been on Hannah Montana and she will be performing at some of their concerts (not this one , though). So, in adolescent girl speak - WOW!!
I hope she has an awesome time! I am on call Monday, but the office is closed. I may take James to the Labor Day parade. We have never been before. Apparently, in addition to throwing candy, necklaces and trinkets they throw paper products - rolls of paper towels, toilet paper, etc... No, really it is because we used to have lots of paper mills here, now it is just Kimberly Clark - they donate the stuff. I'm thinking of taking a trash bag & stocking up!!

On my end......
I had a great ad and article in the paper today - 2 full color pages!!! It was very expensive for me to do, but I'm hoping many people see it and come in In addition to being in today's paper, I'm also in the paper 3 more times this week (1/2 page ads) and then 3 more times in September after that (business card size ads). I'm praying for great business in September


In a couple of hours I have to go pick Stephanie up from her first slumber party and sleepover ever. I can hardly wait to hear all about her good time. Then we are going to be in the pool all day, which will be nice , because it may be the last time for the season

Today we are going to my in-laws for dinner, which is nice, because now I don't have to cook today We are also celebrating my FIL's birthday, because they will be in Florida during his actual birthday.
