Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Morning everyone!

Kim ~ She is a busy girl. I hope everyone gets healthy, and stays that way.

Bunchkin ~ I have been thinking about you. Sorry the news on your MIL is not so good.

Slo ~ It must be tough for Katie not going out. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow and get to enjoy some of the warm day.

I have my stress test this morning. Not looking forward to it at all.

piglet- Good luck on the stress test!
slo- I did get some really fun jewelry. I also took the necklace my Gma wore at the wake. It sounds creepy, kind of, but I like having it.
Kimraye- I hope your dd feels better. That is one busy girl!

So I stayed up late to register and my date isn't until the 19th! Grr! I thought it was the 16th. Hopefully my classes will still be open. I have a great schedule planned out where I only go 2 days a week.
Did I mention I can't wait for our trip! I got a new purse the other day and got the kids some new clothes already. In a few weeks, I am going up to my mom's and want to go to Bass Pro and get us all some nice new sandals. I am thinking of splurging and getting Merrells. I got a blister on the bottome of my foot last trip from walking fast in my Crocs! Any recommendations on a super comfy sandal?

Hi gang! Man, miss a few days and you miss alot around here!

Slo - Glad to hear that Katie is on the mend! Hope Stephanie's hearing test goes well.

Geffric - I have been coloring my hair for a couple of years now. My problem is I wait too long between colors and the gray really shows. Hope it turne out really nice and purty!

Paint - I have Crocs and love them but have never done Disney in them. I usually do my tennis shoes for Disney. Good luck on getting comfy shoes.

Piglet - Good news on your heart!

Hersey - Great job to ds on the constitution test. DS takes his later this month, I think. He better pass!

Hi to everyone else! I need to get back to work.
Lori

Lori what do you use? I tried the natural one that washes out.. a bit red and the gray is not as well covered as it could be.. but infinitely better than before..

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!!!

I am so happy to say that Stephanie DOES NOT need a 3rd surgery on her ear :woohoo: The hearing test showed that her ear drum was fine, and the doctor said everything looked fine. The glands in her ears that cause waxy ears are on overdrive though, and that is what is probably leaking out of her ear:scared: The last time we saw him, he had to scrap wax out of her ear, and he said that the other ear had wax in it last night. This makes sense, because when her ear drains she's never sick, her ear never hurts, it just drains. I asked if this is something she will grow out of, and he said no, this is her makeup, and she'll be like this for life - poor thing:guilty: So he gave me perscription drops to put in her ears once a week to help control these wax glands. Stephanie is not happy that this is a lifelong thing, and not a couple of week thing. I told her that if this is the worst thing that happens to her, than she needs to be very grateful, because many people have worse lifelong ailments to take care of.

Katie is still doing better, but she is spending the day with me today - I don't want her at daycare. This way I know she gets her inhaler when she's suppossed to, and I don't want them thinking she's sicker than what she is (I wouldn't blame them for this at all), Plus, I don't want her running around outside and getting sweated up - we want no relapses:sad2:

piglet - I"m glad the stress test showed no problems :yay:

paint - That doesn't sound creepy at all :sad2: My Grandma left all her fine jewelry to me, so I have everything she wore in her coffin. These are items like her wedding ring, diamond watch, diamond necklace. These items are now in my safe, because they are two small for me to wear. The inexpensive jewelry that I have a I wear all the time - I just love it!!!!!:goodvibes

geffric - How did you do with the coloring? I've been coloring my hair forever. I use Loreal Excellence because I love my color, and I also love the creme - it's easier to use. My hair is long, so I have to use 2 boxes, and it always turns out great:thumbsup2

Mac - You are so funny!! I love how you do your summaries

momto1 - I always wait to long between colors too, but for me, it's because I don't want to fry my hair. I ususally do mine once every 6 weeks, but I really should do it once every 4 weeks. I also wash my hair every other day to help the color not fade as fast. My hair is very red, and red fades so fast, so I do everything I can to control that.

Well, I gotta run and get this day started
Have a great day everyone!!!

Morning all!! HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!!
It is going to be a beautiful day today.:cool1: I hope to sit outside in the sun for a bit and play with the pup.
DS is home sick (though the way he is playing Wii, you wouldn't believe it). He still had a 100.4 fever this morning, so I will not be one of those parents who medicates and then sends their sick kid to school to expose everyone else to their germs. I am just hoping he doesn't have strep.
Slo, glad to hear that Steph doesn't need surgery and that Katie is on the mend.
To every other sickie out there, :wizard: get well really soon. The weather is better and being sick sure puts a damper on enjoying it.
Paint, I found the Crocs sandals (the skinny ones) were wonderful and I had no trouble walking the parks with those. I can't wear the Beach ones or the other big ones. Just don't fit right, but the skinny sandals with the straps across the top of the foot were great. I also had some Nike sandals that were great for walking in.
Mac, thanks for the listings. Wish I'd been able to watch the Sunday shows. I didn't look here soon enough to find out about them.:sad2:
Kim, your DD sounds as busy as mine. Makes me do :scared:
momto1, hersey, CarolAnnC, geffric, ID, DG, and everyone else, have a great day today!!!

I need sandals too, do every year. My problem is finding a pair under $30 that have a back strap to them, and that are good for walking.

Tigg ~ Sorry to hear he is sick, but at least not too sick to play the Wii. (my kids tend to be the same way)

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: What a beautiful day today is going to be! I hope that this weather sticks around! I just realized, ok that's wrong b/c i've been counting the days:laughing: , but we are just about a month away from being able to book our wedding!!! i emailed our consultant this morning to see if any other couples our looking for the same locations and times as us so I can prepare myself in case we need to go into a lottery. i haven't heard back yet but it's only been about an hour  .

Slo ~ glad to hear Katie is doing a little better. And VERY happy to hear Stephanie wont need another surgery:yay:

Tigg ~ have a nice day. hope DS feels better soon!

Piglet ~ I think I'm the only female who hates shopping for shoes. I have such a hard time finding something that will be comfy and still considered cute and season appropriate. i've been looking for shoes to match my wedding dress for a couple months already!

everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

Nope, I hate shoe shopping too. I actually did not buy my wedding shoes until a few days before the wedding. (they were just plain ballet shoes, so no big deal)

Hi gang! What a glorioius St. Patty's Day! Anybody having corned beef and cabbage today? We are doing ours in a couple of days. Today is too busy.

Geffric - I use a basic Clairol #106. I need to find another one as it didn't do great job on the grey this time. It also comes out reddish and over time fades to blond.

Slo - I think I might try your Loreal brand. Good news on Stephanie's ears and not needing the survery.

DG and Piglet - no shoe shopping for me either! I wear the same old pair until they are worn out.

DG - I hope you don't get into the lottery. Do you have alternate choices for your site?

Hi to everybody else!
Lori

I wear TEVA.. yes they are more expensive but I wear them for years..

SLO I think i"ll try the Lorel Excelance next time..

I am not the favorite person around here today - I accidentally turned off both alarms, and now Kevin is running an hour late:wizard: I feel bad, because he goes in early to get out early - I hope he can still leave when he wants, because he has a meeting tonight in town.

Yesterday was beautiful wasn't it?!?! :sunny:
My daylilies are poking out of the ground, and this such an awesome sign that the end of winter is near:yay: :yay: I know we still have some cold days to deal with, but at least we won't have the awful cold we did have anymore - thank goodness!!!!!

TTTTTTTTTTigernn - I'm sorry to hear that Kyle is sick:guilty: I'll send tons of PD that he gets better soon!!!:wizard: :wizard:

DG - I pray that you get what you want at WDW :wizard: It's going to be so fun hearing about all your planning :) We will be here for you no matter what news you want to post - good news, bad news, we will be here to listen.

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I need to go make Steph a lunch
Have a good day!!!

Morning..

This morning I have lots of call to make re employment and other stuff, then Aunt Sophie ( who took care of the boys when we were gone) is coming over to bring her taxes for DH to do.. and then off to get an EMG test..

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: is it friday yet....? things are slowing down around here now that the opera season is almost over. i'm excited b/c that means summer days start in May and that's only 6 weeks away!:yay:

i still haven't heard anything back from our consultant yet but it's ok, not like we are booking tomorrow, i'm just curious!

Piglet and momto1 ~ glad to know i'm not the only female who hates shoe shopping!

momto1 ~ we have a couple options that we can consider for our reception but i'm really sold on the wedding pavilion and that's what i'm most worried about!

everyone else ~ :wave2: have a nice day!

Hi gang! Well, the suitcases are ready to be packed! They are just waiting patiently. I think I will have ds try on his shorts this weekend to see which ones are too short and expose his long skinny chicken legs.

My mom was diagnosed with Celiac Disease yesterday. She is OK with it because she finally has an anwer as to why she has been feeling crappy. Anyone have any experience with the gluten free diet? I don't know anyone who has so I have nothing to offer.

DH found another couple to share the Illuminations Cruise. He posted on Facebook and had quick success. I am so happy because I didn't want to cancel the cruise!

Slo- I wish I had turned off my alarm this morning. I really wanted to sleep in. Hope the rest of the day went better.

DG - summer hours! I am so jealous!

Hi to everybody else!
Lori

Lori

DS#1 was on a wheat free diet not gluten free. I found a book that you can get from the library called MY Child is allergic to everything cookbook.. the best part is the charts that show what you can substitute for wheat ..I liked the spelt bread and quina noodles..
