Yesterday was so nice. I think I might have actually been warm. Today I'm wearing a sweatshirt. What is up with our weather? Where is the global warming?

Slo I hope you don't get as cold as they are saying. Newspaper makes a good cover, just put a few stones on it so it doesn't blow or even a old sheet can cover a whole flower bed.

I got quite a bit done this weekend. I did some cleaning in the basement. I found some loafers that I haven't been able to find since I moved!

I was on the train this morning for almost two hours going to work, because someone got killed by an outbound train in Western Springs. We were completely stopped for over half an hour.

I hate the cold, too! I can't believe it's after Memorial Day!

Thanks for the well wishes! Well I made it through the day, had to run payrolls for the Monday (holiday) folks as well as regular Tuesday so it was quite an experience, lol.

I am about to head into a nice hot shower. Chilly here tonite! Tomorrow is already Wednesday! Yay! Love these short weeks...

Disneynut - I'm sorry your kids are so sad about their grandma I hope Disneyland helps them feels better
**We like Kona Cafe for everything!!!!! They have really good deserts too, which are delicious as a evening treat!!!!

DG - I love the idea of different colors!!!!! What happens if more than one bridesmaid pick the same color? Will this be okay? If you want them all different, you may want a backup plan. Maybe have the girls pick a color out of a hat, and then no one can say you are favoring their opinion over anothers.

HERSEY - I love the idea of the newspaper - thanks for that!!!! I do have some sheets, but the problem is the pots and hanging baskets that I have scattered all around the from and back yard - there are 23 of those I have 2 huge flowers beds that are great for the sheets

CarolAnn - How are you liking your new job, that's not really new anymore?

Slo ~ i didn't think of that... i like the pick out of a hat idea but my one sister looks terrible in pink and with her luck that would be the color she got... maybe i'll do my sisters in green and the other two in purple (i fear if i have two in green and two in pink it will look like a watermelon at the alter) hmmm... decisions decisions... this is why i need two years to plan lol!

I couldn't figure out why my loafers weren't with the rest of my shoes, until I remembered that I had kept them out in case I needed them in the last few days before I moved, and then put them somewhere in the last few boxes we carried over on our own, thinking that it would be an easy place to find them once I got there. Well, over a year later, it did turn out it was in an easy place, once I found it!

Leigh - How sad that someone got killed Did the train hit a person or a car?

It hit a pedestrian, a 21 y.o. woman. She was going to cross the tracks, but I'm not really sure about the details other than that. I've heard that she was sucked in somehow when two trains were going the opposite direction and created a vacuum , but I'm not sure if that's got any truth to it or if it's just a rumor. And a guy I work with said he saw body parts when he passed the area (I was on the other side of a different train and couldn't see anything), and I thought he was just messing with me (he does that all the time), but apparently that may have been true.

We had a great weekend. The kids were off Tuesday too! We went and saw the Indiana Jones movie too!! And we thought it was super!!! Lots of laughs and action!! We love all the Indy movies.


DS's last day of school is this Friday! No more kindergarten! He's growing up too quick for my liking.

disneynut So sorry to hear what your kids are still having to deal with. These things are never easy, and I speak from experience in these matters. It's so hard on the kids.
We've eaten at Kona several times for dinner...it is AWESOME!!!

wedding countdown update!!! Favors are done, arch is assembled, but not decorated (it is ginormous and will never fit in a car or van-will have to disassemble and decorate there), cookie pops are done and drying (bagging later), laundry is done, and today will be house cleaning and picking up tuxes. Tomorrow is the kids last day of school, so I will try to keep them from messing up aforementioned clean house all day! I will also be going to get my nails done. Then, we have our rehearsal.
Also, the weather forecast looks fab (knock on wood). Keep your fingers crossed! I am so SO excited!!!
Okay, better get the kiddos up. they have a play day today (picnic, inflatable jumpers, etc). have to slather 'em w/sunscreen so dd doesn't have a farmer's tan in her flowergirl dress!

slo - I had the hardest time getting up too! I've got a little bit of a cold coming on though and it's "that" time so I'm more tired in general this week.
*We were supposed to see Caspian last weekend, maybe we'll try to get there this weekend too.

paint - congrats on getting everything done. I'm sure the wedding will be beautiful. Enjoy the day!

disneygal - your colors sound lovely, so springy. I was married in May but went with forest green, it was my favorite color so I went with it anyway.

Bunchkin - we want to see the new Indy movie too. I know it's rated PG13 but would you think it's OK for younger?



Well, I guess I'd better get my rear in gear. I have to email DD6s teacher, their picnic is tomorrow and since it looks like rain we'll be in the gym . Need to know what to do about that.

Good Morning Everyone! beautiful day today! however, as i was walking to work there were cops flying in every direction... as i got to wacker they had Adams completely blocked off from Wacker to the other side of the river and there were cops and ambulances everywhere... i couldn't really see much and i wasn't going to stop but when i got to work i checked out the trib and apparently a cab slammed into a pole near the bridge or something... at first i thought a car flew in the river or something b/c the bridge lights were flashing and it was quite alarming... i hate seeing things like that. my heart just sinks at the thought. but on a lighter note, the Avon Walk is this weekend! i took tomorrow off so i can get my stuff together and we have to go to an Event Eve gathering in Rosemont... i'm a little nervous but i'm sure it will be alright.

ID ~ i saw Indy on Monday! i agree with Bunchkin, lots of laughs and action. (a typical Indy movie) i enjoyed. there were a couple points were i got a little squimish (had to look away for a couple of seconds) other than that part i would say under 13 should be fine... there were a bunch of small children in the theater. oh, and thanks for the compliment on the colors. i've always been a very bright color type gal which is why i wanted a spring wedding!!!

Bunchkin ~ i haven't really decided on the dress styles yet. we haven't gone looking b/c it's still over a year and half away but i think i'd like them all to be the knee length/tea length whatever they call it these days! i figured it's florida in april probably going to get warm so i'd like the girls to be comfortable in their dresses!

Slo ~ i had no idea there were bears in the orlando area... maybe the everglades but orlando???

I saw that! Boy, my commutes have been eventful this week.

I came out of Union Station right where it was. At first I could just see a tow truck up ahead, then as I got closer, there were a lot of cops everywhere, including at least two on Segways, and then there were tv cameras interviewing people. Then finally I saw the cab that had gone up on the curb. I crossed the street (all the traffic was still blocked off), and then I just stood there looking at it, trying to figure out how the cab could have gotten into that position. It wasn't just that it was backwards (it had been in reverse, for some reason), but it was at a weird angle. There were a ton of people just standing there looking at it, some taking pictures with their phones. The cops were trying to get people to move along. They were about to tow the cab. There was something sticking out of the trunk, and after I read the articles about it, I figured out that it must have been the door they had to cut off to get the driver out.

I guess there was some sort of argument between the cabbie and another one, but how the accident happened I hve no idea. But the cabbie and a pedestrian were in serious/critical, another pedestrian was in stable, and the passenger refused treatment. I missed all the ambulances. I'm glad I missed the accident! Apparently it happened around 8am (I got there after 8:30am), and my boss sometimes arrives on a train around that time. I didn't see him here earlier this morning, so I was a little afraid, but then I saw him later and was telling him about it, and he said he didn't see it because he went out a different door today. But he was on the train arriving at 8:02am, so maybe it's a good thing he used the other door!

Okay. I have been up since 4 a.m. I am waiting for the gym to open. I am exhausted but also feel I could run around the block!!! I have too much nervous energy! We picked up the tuxes last night. Df and ds tried theirs on- they both needed some different sizes (they were measured, mind you). Then, at about 11 last night, df says- Hey, weren't ds and I supposed to have white vest and ties?". Yep. They were and the dads were to have gray vest and ties. The groomsmen are to have black vests and yellow ties. Instead, we have all tuxes in the style the groomsmen are to wear. I can't handle this. 5 hours until I call. They shall feel my wrath.
The weather is to be beautiful tomorrow!!! I am so excited! Today, matron of honor, dd, and I are getting our nails done, while df and ds go see Indiana Jones. I also have to blow dry my naturally curly hair straight for tomorrow but it is supposed to be rainy today. I need to wear a shower cap out to keep my hair safe!!!
Okay. I still need to kill another 20 minutes before the gym opens!!!

Hey, all! This is *supposed* to be a gorgeous weekend!!! Sure hope so!!!!

Paint...BIG, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Can't wait to hear all about the wedding!

Bunchkin...hope the whole car thing didn't turn out to be too much $$$...it's so good that you weren't hurt....

Hersey...is Alex done with school, yet?

Slo...Christopher is loving his new job. I still wish it was closer to home, as his worried mother, but I am as his supportive mother, I am sooo very happy he found a job doing what he truly loves! And, thank you again for the prayers for Brian's gf...they really have helped!

This weekend is our community's big festival...there is a carnival in town now, and on Sunday is a 5K run (Mark is planning to be in that) and a parade (Brian's band kids are marching). It's always a fun day, and it looks like the weather might actually cooperate!!!

A shout out to all...hope *everyone* has a *great* weekend!!!!
