Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

Ouch!!! The front section of our roof needs to be replaced. It has a very shallow pitch and the shines directly on that side of the roof all day long. Luckily, the back half of the roof is in real good shape and we were told those shingles should last another 10-15 years. So, come Friday morning, the front half of our house will have all new and improved "wind and ice" shingles!!!

I have a question to put out there. Does anyone have an extra round "Cruisin Castaways" Magnet, the one we got from MaryRose. Someone took mine off our door and I am attempting to make a memory box of this trip and would like to include it.

we usually start school early here, sometimes before Labor Day,the teachers went in on Friday and then the kids started Tuesday. Each school sysytem decides when they start but in the end we all have to have our 180 days no matter what.

DD Gianna can't miss practice in August as it was difficult this year and she's just a freshman,she has to have a certain number of practices in before she can play, so if she's on Varsity in 2008, the coach won't be happy. Maybe John and I can come by ourselves and we can do all the tastings together,hmmmm


Doreen: Our Spring break is April 21-29 this year so that's a possibility

Terry: Thank you ! I did alot of firsts this cruise and one of them being the cheese platter. We also got that 3 times but I never took a picture. So when I saw that you took it that was the first thing I thought of.............need that for the scrapbook. That was sooooo yummy and we won't miss that again on next cruise.



We had a visitor while away. I thought I was going nuts hearing a noise and it was driving Dante crazy. It was a mouse and Chuck ran it out of the garage. I just took the garbage out and guess what I saw? Another little mouse just staring at me. I told Chuck where there is 1 there is more. I am now taking care of it and hopefully when I get up tomorrow...........Well you know.

Jeff: Thanks so much for that info regarding how the waitlist process goes. When we cruise in February 2007 we'll rebook 2 cabins, just in case we end up having to go with the Cat. 6 cabins. Even if we don't get called right away, we'll still try and budget and plan, just in case it opens up

Another question: If we don't get called when the dates/rates open up for August 2008 and we end up booking the Cat 6 cabins, then say a year later we get the call (like what happened with you and the Cat 1), what rate do they offer you at that time? Would it be the lowest rate that was available on "opening day", or are they giving you the current rate that is out a year later?? Since they don't really publish the rates for the suites, does anyone really even know what the rates are at any given point?? Just some things I'm wondering, so we can plan accordingly!

Lyn: Best wishes for a good outcome from Bob's trial. I hope he is finally awarded what he deserves from all of the pain and suffering and long-lasting health problems he's had to endure all this time It would be awesome to cruise with you again in 2008

Andy: It's good that your roof is being replaced/repaired now before more damage from this winter's ice could occur. It's never fun having to pay for home repairs though, is it. You always seem to have a great attitude towards life though

Tina: I hope you get rid of your mouse problem. Maybe they saw that you were a fan of MICKEY mouse and thought you'd welcome them there
Regarding my pictures: I actually took only a very few pictures of the food on this trip, and I'm so glad I remembered to take a picture of the cheese plates I'm glad you'll be able to use those pictures for your scrapbook

Bev: O.K good one I didn't even relate the mouse to Mickey. I guess Mickey is cuter that's why. So we are even for the stingray bit.


Ed: Can't be in the same family, just doesn't look like Mickey. Brooke is telling me she want's to keep as a pet.


Terry: I took a pic of the Palo desserts. I will try to get my pics transferred to web shots. I didn't know kodak gallery was only free if you buy something every 12 months. I want to get my pics off of there.

Good Morning All-

I hope all the kiddies enjoyed their first day of school. Everyone must be sleeping in today. It will be warm again, high 70's to 80's. Maybe today the ac at work will be on and controlled. Yesterday, my zone was wearing sweaters and blankets.

Tina, when my son was about 3 we had a mouse in the house and he also wanted to keep it. NO WAY!!!!!

I miss going to the Cove Cafe in the AM and having a latte and sitting on a chair and just watching the water. It just doesn't work with the bathtub.

Hi Karen,

I just had to run to the MAC machine, we completely forgot about having $$ on hand for school lunches today and tomorrow. Yikes, LOL!!!

Will be leaving here in a few minutes to drive Angelina to school. With the first day excitement, she was up at 5:30 this morning. This year she will be the anchor for the morning announcements, she is so excited about this, I think that's why she woke up so early.

Karen: I'm glad you liked the Kona Cafe!! That's our favorite Disney World restaurant How did you like the new Pirates of the Caribbean ride, with the 3 Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp characters added in?? Also the new water screen with Davey Jones' image at the start of the ride was pretty cool too
