Good Morning Everyone

I hope all the kids who are starting school this week have a great year!
(Russell - I can't believe you will be a senior in college - I remember you in your superman suit, green golf shoes and your red jeep and Dindar!! I am sitting here with tears in ,eyes!!)
Jaclyn - you are a SENIOR!!! Remeber going to see Titanic with me that wonderful March day!! I hope this year will be your BEST ever!!!
Daniel - what can I say but maybe "CHEF Daniel"!!
You three kids are the pride and joy of our family!

I want to thank everyone for such a wonderful cruise this time around, we had a lot of laughs!

Terry and family - thank you for the wonderful tablemates at dinner. Your family is wonderful!!

And to everyone else I met sometimes only briefly you made this trip feel like family. It is a beautiful feeling knowing anyplace you went on or off the ship you met someone from your "family"!!

Count me in on the cruise in 2008 August 16th!! I am game for anytime.

I am going thru Disney withdrawel, I spent 8/26/thru 9/2 at WDW and had a blast. i just worked around the rain.

Terry - i went to the Kona Cafe for dinner one night and the food was fabulous!

I went to the Grand Flordian for lunch one day and the Garden Cafe. The only reason I went there was because I needed to get my boarding pass printed up and they had access to doing it. My trip was extended by two days thanks to Southwest cancelling my flight on Thursday and Friday and I met George at the concierge desk and he was most delightful, he printed up my pass and I told him that if he sees me on Friday I am probably coming for a new pass. Sure enough I went again on Friday and by the time I got to the desk he had it printed up and ready for me. Talk about service!!

Well gotta go, talk to you later!!!

Karen

I forgot to ask a question.

Does anyone know where I can get another cruisin castaway magnet? Mine was taken off my door sometime during the cruise. I am going to attempt to make a memory box and I would like to include the magnet.

Doreen- can you believe I am going to try and be artistic?
Shirley can you hear me????

Thank you everyone for your kind words & prayers during the loss of our mother. :grouphug: Although it has been difficult to try and get back to what " Normal " is we are doing good.

I just hope with the magical memories we had on this cruise it won't always be remembered on how it ended.

We are looking forward to 2008 and even booked Brooke on the phantom date. She is excited but doesn't want to wait that long. :hourglass

I want to Thank Everyone for the fish mail. I really was excited everyday to hurry back to the cabin to see if we had any. I felt like a little kid. Everyone is so creative and it was one of the highlights for me. :goodvibes

Tina: You have my permission to use any of my photos for your scrapbook :teeth: Thank you again for the great fish mail, it was a lot of fun to go to the cabin and see that we had mail!

I got a call this morning on my cell phone during work so since I wasn't sure if it was one of the boys, I answered it and it was Sandy from All Seasons Travel, asking me to verify the dates that we want to be waitlisted for a mid-ship Category 3 for 2008. At first I told her either August 16th or 23rd, but then I called her back and told her that we're only interested in the 16th, since that's when all of our friends will be cruising :grouphug: If we don't get a mid-ship Cat. 3 for that date we'll probably go with connecting Cat 6 cabins. There's a DISer on our February 2007 cruise that will be in a mid-ship Cat 3, and he said we can check out his cabin, so it'll be great to actually see the layout of those cabins. :3dglasses

Hey Terry,

That is our back up request. I asked for a cat 1 (Walt first, Roy Second) for the 16th or 23rd. If neither is available I asked for a mid-ship 3. Since my request was made 07/13/2005 I hopefully will get one of the cat 1s.

Good luck getting your Cat 3.

Tina--by all means, use whatever photo you like of mine. :goodvibes

Hi Jeff:

I was wondering if we might end up being neighbors if you get a Cat 1 and I get one of the neighboring Cat 3s :teeth: Or maybe we'll both gett a Cat 3. Your request was made such a long time ago that I bet it's on the top of the list! ::yes::

I have a question... Do you know how far in advance they call to let you know that your waitlist request went through and that they're offering you the cabin? Do they do this as soon as they open up the dates and rates for the timeframe that you're waitlisted for?? Thanks for any info on this!

Terry,

Two years ahead of time you should be able to get a Cat 3, though maybe not one of the mid-ship ones. You might have a better chance getting a Cat 2 over the midship cat 3's.

Thanks for this info :) If we can't get one of the four mid-ship Cat 3 cabins, we'll probably just go with connecting Cat 6s. We really don't want any of the other Cat 3 cabins because the rest of them have the third bed in the master bedroom and we don't want that configuration. We want the boys to share the livingroom, and DH and I would have the bedroom.

All of this is assuming that the price of a Cat 3 isn't out of our vacation budget league! lol I'm fairly certain that a Cat 2 would be more than we want to spend and is more cabin than we really need. If we are offered one of the mid-ship Cat 3 cabins we'll price that against the cost of 2 connecting Cat 6 cabins and go from there, but we *really* liked the Cat 3 that we saw on the cruise a couple of weeks ago. We like the idea of DSs and us all being in 1 cabin, which we'd be able to duplicate (sort of!) with 2 connecting Cat 6 cabins.

It would be fun being neighbors.

As you know many of us (including yourself) booked the 08/06 cruise in 09/04. I made the request for the cat 1 about the same time I booked in '04. I got the call 07/05/2005 (Yes, I remember the day vividly) since I had to pick myself off the floor when Inventory Control called. I was out on the rode home shopping checking out a house when out of the blue they called my cell phone. My mind was not on DCL or my request so it was somewhat of a surprise for someone to say, "The Roy is available, are you interested?".

I can't assume that I was the first one they called. Since it is first come, first serve I would think they would have called someone else first after the 2006 rates were released in 09/04.

My gut feeling is that someone cancelled and I was next on the list. In reality you can get that call at anytime. Since the final payment date creates last minute openings you could get the call with only a few months left so you may want to put some extra cash away just in case you don't get the call right away.

Terry: I had a category 3 in 2001 and it was really nice. We had the chair in the bedroom that turned into a twin bed. When it was folded up you didn't even know it was there. We traveled with my niece, Matt and his friend so my niece needed the twin bed in our room so it worked out nicely. I don't think you'll be disappointed in category 3; but it was expensive.

Bob and I will be talking about the 8/16/08 cruise in a few weeks because I would love to go. But right now we are preparing for the malpractice trial on the 18th (hopefully it will happen this time) and my head is spinning with all the information I need to remember from 4 years ago.

Please keep us in your prayers for a good outcome.

Lyn

Terry,

Jeff is right, you could always be asked to be wait listed for the mid ship cat 3s if they aren't available right away. That is what I would do.

Inventory control contacts people a few weeks before the dates are available to the general public.

There is a young man by the name of Travis (Mostyn17) that reported he and his family had booked the Roy Suite for our August 06 cruise, but when the 10 and 11 day Southern Caribbean Cruises were announced, his family switched their ressie to one of them, freeing up the Roy suite for "lucky" you Jeff.

Travis was supposed to be married during the August 06 cruise, but I haven't heard from Travis in quite a while, so I don't know what happened about that.

The one thing I wanted to give her a "heads up" on is that if the 2008 rates are released in the next month or so she may not get a call right away and the possibility is that call could come in mid 2008 when final payment is due. If you give up hope and don't put away some extra cash then you could be caught off guard.

Hypothetical: Someone cancels their mid-ship 3 because they can't make final payment. Terry gets a call and now has to come up with the extra cash for the cat 3 when she just finished paying off whatever stateroom she booked as a backup plan to the cat 3.

Actually I am still unsure how long you have after getting the call to come up with the additional money is someone can't make final payment?

I know who you mean. His signature has a picture of him with Roy Disney Jr. I haven't seen him post lately. I wouldn't be surprised if you are right about the Andy.
