Hello Everyone !

Andy: Cool magnet. :cool1: Such talented people here on the Dis.

Ed: Nice t-shirt design. We had t-shirts made up at Zazzle for last cruise. A bit on the $$ side but well worth it.

Bev: I will do my part for posting challenge. :teeth:

Doreen: We went to Roseland water park in Canandaigua. It's only a couple of years old. So glad Marty is up and around. :goodvibes

Terry: Is it time to start giving out numbers for Mary Rose yet? She has been away to long and would like to get front page updated. Has anyone been keeping track of all the new people that has signed up recently. I thought about it to late.

My sunburn turned into sun poisioning. I can't even take advil because I am at the 5 day mark before my procedure. I really look like an alien. :3dglasses My forehead is quite swollen out. Feels like my face is on fire and boy does it hurt. I bought a hat and haven't taken it off. Think that's why people are staring at me in the store today. I even kept sunglasses on. :rotfl: Rest assure I will be bringing hat on cruise. Have a good night everyone. :flower:

Here is a quick update on Stan...

Surgery is scheduled for 7/11/05. The biopsy showed the second site (sigmoid) is also cancerous. So, they will be resectioning the original site (cecum), taking out an area of the sigmoid and some lymph nodes, and repairing the incision hernia.

The surgeon wants to have a full body scan done. I guess we will fight the insurance company for that.

That is what I know for now until I speak with the surgeon later today. He told Stan to have me call him. I guess after almost a year of dealing with us the guy knows I am the "question" half of the team.

Thanks everyone for keeping us in your prayers. It is truly appreciated.

I hope this isn't TMI (too much info), but it helps me to "talk" with you guys.

By the way...Sandra's recital was awesome! She danced her little heart out and had a wonderful time.

Darlene

Darlene: Definitely not TMI! I will continue to keep Stan in my prayers. Hang in there!

Just a quick update on Mike-Bobs Jury Duty. He finally called the courthouse & they just asked what day he wanted to change it to. Of course he didn't volunteer the info that this is actually the second time he was changing it so hopefully we are all set for out DW vacation now.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Diane

Got home from work a little early today, I have to get ready to see my orthopaedic surgeon this afternoon and see what our next course of action is going to be. My goal is to stay away from surgery as long as possible. I'm hoping if anything to get the Syn-Visc Injections that I had in my left knee a few years ago. The shots gave me three months of relief before I had the partial knee replacement in my left knee!!!

Darlene Stan and Sandy , Pd :wizard:and Group hug :grouphug:

Andy :wizard: hope good news for your knees too.

Tina, I remember ROSELAND PARK as an AMUSEMENT PARK years ago when I was a young girl.. wow.. now its a water park..!!! Back then it seemed so big. I think the CARAUSEL from that park is now at our mall too..

DARLENE>> big hugs to you as well.. STAN will come out shining as always I am sure. And feel free to talk to us as aften as you need to. :goodvibe

TERRY... they kids would love that idea.... OMG can you imagine that.. If GINNY pulls some strings. maybe they can have more PALOS dinner (lol) too!! :rotfl: Yeah, Watch them get married some day too... Jaclyn hasnt asked him yet,...lol..

The voice of PIGLET died this weekend as well.. the only orignial one left of 100=acre woods is ROO... Rest in Peace...:sad2:

I am off to a lacrosse game for JACLYN.. in 98* weather... UGGG!!! talk to you soon..

Doreen

Tina: Your sun poisoning sounds so painful :( I hope you feel better soon.

Darlene: I'll be thinking of Stan and all of you, on the 11th. Stan seems like such a strong man, we all have to think positive thoughts that he'll come through this ok. I hope the insurance company doesn't give you a hard time about the body scan. And don't hesitate to talk to us any time you need to. :) Congrats to Sandy on her recital! I bet she looked just beautiful! princess:

Diane: I am so glad that Mike was able to change the date of his jury duty!! :)

Andy: What did the doctor have to say? Will you be able to get the injections? That'd be great to get them, to get you through the summer at least. Will you be having surgery on your knee in the fall??

Doreen: I guess you just never know. :bride: :groom: :earboy2:
I hope all the kids have a great time on the cruise. Just with the kids on this thread, we have a good sized group! :grouphug:

Arrived back home a short whilre ago, my doc was tied up in surgery, so my appointment was pushed back a little while (this happens quite often with this doc).

Anyhow, I was given one of three choices:
(1) Have another cortisone injection
(2) Have the Synvisc injections (with Workman's Comp approval)
(3) Have surgery

I took choice number (2). The doc said since the two previous cortisone injections haven't been giving me much relief, it really didn't make sense to get another one. I didn't want to have surgery right now because (a) I have vacation coming up (b) we are short handed at work right now as it is. (c) see below*

Someone from the doc' office will be getting in touch with my Workman's Comp insurance company to get the approval for the Synvisc injections. Once the approval is granted then the appointments will be made for me to get the shots.

*This is a busy week for us. On Thursday we take Angelina to the oral surgeon for her consultation about getting her four impacted wisdom teeth removed, that's another reason I didn't want to have surgery right now, I didn't want Hazel having to take care of two babies, LOL!!!

ANDY
I will be praying that the WC doctors sign off on your injections. When will Angelina have oral surgery? Poor baby. :sad2:

Hey, Doreen and Terry, you must invite us to the wedding :bride: :groom: !!!! Although I am sure they would both protest that they are "only friends", they sure make the best couples. We've traveled further for weddings. Let me know when they "register"!!
Sorry, just being rather silly, but it would be fun, wouldn't it?

Darlene :grouphug:

We should know Thursday afternoon when Angelina's surgery will be scheduled. We see the oral surgeon at 3:30 on Thursday.

Has anyone noticed the "Diet Challenge" in my signature? Has anyone noticed that there are no updates to that challenge being posted?

That is because I discovered flavored coffees. Bad, bad, bad flavored coffees.

Darlene

Hi All...Hope everyone is doing great!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was anyone in this group on the 14 day cruise in May? If so, although you may have said it already, how was it? Was 14 days too long? I thought the 10 day got a little long on our 8/28/05 cruise.

Talk to you all soon

LOL! Have you noticed that MY Diet Challenge logo has mysteriously disappeared from my signature???? :earboy2: I felt guilty every time I saw it there. LOL Once I get serious (again!) about dieting, I'll add it back. :teeth:

I love flavored coffee too! Dunkin Donuts' coconut flavored iced coffee is to die for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9: I also make French Vanilla coffee at home here. What flavors do you like, Darlene?? :sunny:

P.S. If Craig and Jaclyn ever really did get married (many years from now, after college ;) ), they'd HAVE to get married at Castaway Cay! :groom: :bride: Right, Doreen?? :earboy2: And of course all of the DIS Cruisers would be invited. :grouphug: :earboy2:

Hi Joanna :wave2:

We must've been posting at the same time! I don't think any of us were on the 14 day in May, but I do believe we have some August Repo cruisers among us. :)

It's funny that you mention about the 10 day being too long, because just tonight the boys and I were talking about that cruise, and Robby (DS14) said he thinks that next year's cruise will seem too short, since it'll only be 7 nights. :hourglass LOL

I hope you and your family are doing well! :flower:

Hi Terry,

Don't forget that I'm a Travel Agent ::yes:: so when Craig and Jaclyn get married, I can book the honeymoon and all the travel arrangements for a few hundred of your closest DIS friends. lol Don't forget to invite me. Maybe Craig-Jaclyn and Lindsay-whomever can have a double wedding at Castaway Cay. Find me someone and it can be a triple wedding. :rotfl2: :grouphug:

Hope everyone in your family is feeling well and excited about your upcoming vacation. Are you still comingto NJ in July? We have to meet.

We should have a teen meet for all the older teens. What do you think?

Take care and stay well.

Bev ::MickeyMo

Hello Everyone

Darlene: Continued thoughts and prayers for your family. Never TMI ! :wizard: :grouphug:

Andy: Ouch.......Hope it works out for you. Knowing you have to have surgery and then waiting for it would drive me nuts. Hope your pain free for your upcoming vacation. :wizard:

Doreen: I remember going to Roseland as a child also. The waterpark isn't in the same place. It's just a couple of miles up the road from where the orignal Roseland.

Terry: Sunburn was NO FUN. The swelling has completly gone away from my forehead. I am peeling like crazy now. New problem yesterday the corners of both my eyes are completly covered with a sack. Like 2 balls filled with fluid. It constantly feels like I have something in my eye. I have never seen or heard of such a thing. I called Doctor's and am getting in there today at 11:45. I need to know what's going on before my procedure. Tomorow no eating and just clear liquids and well being in the bathroom all day. :earseek:

John's home sick today  He caught the same thing that I'm still getting over. He kept me up all night with his coughing. This morning he asked me to go out for Dunkin Donuts and coffee. :earboy2:

On the plus side, I'm feeling a lot better, and counting down the days till our trip! SIX DAYS :sunny:  :flower:

Bev: You crack me up!!! We'll have to work on finding a groom for YOU! :teeth: :groom: And yes, I will be in NJ this summer! In fact, I'll be down from Friday, July 15th, till the 22nd, I think. We will definitely have to make plans to get together! I think a meet for the teens is a good idea, too. It'll help break the ice for them. Our cruise isn't until the middle of August next year, so maybe a teen meet earlier in the summer would be a good idea. :) What do you think??

Tina: I'm glad you're a little better, but I'm glad you're going to the doctor. You poor thing, with the blisters around your eyes :( And tomorrow, just hang in there! To me, that was worse than the actual procedure.

Hope everyone is having a good day :wave2: :sunny:

TERRY - Any flavor from Dunkin Donuts is my favorite. LOL I can't believe we actually let them build one of those places in our town. At the other end of town is a Starbucks, but they are $$$. And even the hospital cafeteria has flavored coffee, Irish Cream, Hazelnut, French Vanilla. I can't get away from it!!

TINA - Take care tomorrow. Stan says the prep is the worse part. I'll be thinking of you and hoping all goes well.

BEV - How is the TA stuff going?

MJ - Glad to see you are around. God willing, we will be on the Aug Repo cruise. I'll let you know how it goes. I would have enjoyed the 10 days more if my travel plans home had been more settled. I remember walking around deck 10 with my cell phone trying to reach the airline. It's funny now.

Darlene

Darlene - our continued prayers for Stan (and you and Sandy of course). Please keep us posted as to how he is doing. We need him healthy and I cant think of a better thing to celebrate on the repo cruise.
