Hello... anyone home?

This is DoogieRunner, family of four and DVC members; DD-8, DS-10. This will be our 3rd 7 day. We enjoy hanging out in the sun, days at sea, eating, sleeping (except me, I run around deck 4 early in the morning, I can sleep at home ). We plan on doing Trunk Bay on our own, and taking the DCL Catermeran tour on St. Martin.... unless anyone would be willing to split the cost of this: http://www.offshoresensations.com/english/anguilla.html

Advice: You won't need as many clothes as you think. Most folks are VERY casual until dinner. Bring an over the door shoe holder unless you're in a cat 6 or above. Swim in the pools in before noon as they get very crowded (DCL keeps them CLEAN). If your kids love the clubs, let them enjoy it w/out feeling guilty. Order 2 desserts. Read a book. Check out deck 7. Rent bikes on Castaway Cay. Read the history of Castaway Cay here: URL=http://web.outsideonline.com/magazine/0199/9901blackbeard.html] BYOB or buy a refillable beer mug. Watch the sunrise... sunset. Tip your hosts. Meet as many folks as you can. :Pinkbounc

Hi...our family of four (myself-41, DH 49, DS 13 and DD--turning 11 on the cruise) are very excited...this is our 2nd Disney Cruise...we did the Eastern in 2001 and loved it so much, we booked the same thing...Another suggestion...bring your own drinks (whatever they may be!)..we bought a case of beer in Port Canaveral ...we arrived the day ahead...put it in a carry-on bag, and saved alot of money with that! Our room steward kept our soft sided cooler (which I folded and packed) filled with ice...the "cooler box" in the room works ok...but not great! We had an over the door shoe holder on our last trip..we were in a cat. 6..and it was VERY helpful. We are in a cat. 6 again this time (room 6606) and will definately bring it again...with 4 people in the room, it keeps all the odds-n-ends organized!! We have booked the Golden Eagle Catamaran (morning trip) in St. Marteen and will do a beach on our own in St. Thomas. A helpful tip....bring half the clothes and double the cash!!!! Anxious to meet you all!

Finally!!! Nice to hear from you. I've seen some of your posts JoBro. We've also booked the Catermeran on St. Martin, the early one, so we have time to shop in the afternoon. Is anyone a DVC member?

No DVC member here...just DCL fans! Looks like we'll be enjoying our excursion together..our kids are really looking forward to it...we plan on hitting lunch on the ship after we return and then on to Great Bay Beach for the remainder of the day! Counting down the days!!! Any other 6/14 Easterners out there???

We are on the 6/14 Eastern too!!

Myself (38), my DH (39), my DD (10), and DD (6). We are very excited since this is our first Disney cruise. I'm trying to finish up my clothes shopping right now. The casual clothes weren't a problem but the dinner clothes were more of a challenge:)

My DD (10) and I are going on the Dolphin Stingray Encounter on St. Martin (Anguilla). We are treating ourselves for our birthday:) I don't know yet what my DH and DD (6) are doing on St. Martin. My husband is kind of a non-planner (it is very difficult for me to see how he gets through life) but after 17 years with him I've learned to accept it. I also don't know yet what we are doing on St. Thomas. I'm not opposed to going to Trunk Bay but since I've never done it I am a little leary of trying it on our own.

My kids are a VERY excited but a little leary of meeting new kids in the clubs. And my younger daughter is a little afraid of being in a group by herself without her older sister. Of course, her older sister is thrilled:) Any advice?

I'm looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you on board. I can't believe how close it is:)

Count us in too! Two families, seven total. 4 adults 3 kids ages 18, 16, 15. 2nd DCL cruise. Sooooo excited! Side by side rooms on deck 7.

There are 10 of us ages 6, 8, 10, 12, 24, 34, 35, 36, 60 and 60! We've been on the Magic before on a 4 day and liked it so much that we booked 7 day cruise, 3 days afterwards at WL. Everyone is doing different excursions. My DH can't go so I told my DDs ages 8 and 12 that they are on their own, mom will be at the spa! Thank goodness for the clubs. I think we're category 5, all verandah rooms. My suitcase is already out!

Us too, we're on the 6/14 Eastern!

Me (38), my DH (39), my DD (12) and DS (7) are taking our first ever cruise! We're all excited but not real sure what to expect since we've never cruised before. We have a couple excursions planned: Trunk Bay in St. John and the Golden Eagle Catamaran (morning trip) in St. Maarten. My DD and DS can't wait to try snorkeling, although they have never done this before! They are both hoping they meet a few new friends around their age group in the clubs.

Can't believe it's only a little more than a month away.....just counting the days!!! :D

Sounds like a lot of us are doing the early morning Catermeran on St Martin. We did a similar Catermeran in Cozumel last summer and it was a blast. We are planning on going over to Trunk Bay on our own. It is cheaper and you will have an additional 2 hours to snorkel. Here's some directions found on this board:

There are two ways to go to St. John. One way is right near the ship. Take a taxi to the closest ferry. This ferry takes longer to get to St.John but is more convenient. Check the ferry times for more details. The other way is to take a taxi to Red Hook. This takes a little while by taxi and then you have to wait for a ferry at this port. (I think they run every half hour or hour.)

I also found a link to Ferry times to various places: http://www.usvi-on-line.com/ferry.shtml .

Ahoy Mates!!

We'll be there!! I guess I'm a little slow but what does "DH", "DS" & "DD" stand for? Anyway...Me(32), Wife(34) and daughter(2) and we are very excited as this is our first cruise! My wife and I have lived within a 3 hr drive of WDW for nearly 20 years and we cannot get enough of it. So we are looking forward to experiencing Disney on a ship! We just took our 2 year old to WDW for the first time last month so this will be a good follow up to get her started off on a wonderful life with Disney. Although her biggest thrill @ WDW was the bus ride from the hotel to the Magic Kingdom, we feel you cannot get enough Disney in your life!

See you there!!

This is our first Disney Cruise! Me, DH, DD (6) and dd(9 months).

Would love to meet everyone once on board. Anyone else up for a quick "meet and greet"?

See ya on board!!!

What dinner seating does everyone have? We originally booked with the early one, but after discussing it and reading all the posts, we changed to second seating! Does everyone have their clothes all ready???

10 of us ages 6-60 have early seating because of the kids and my dad who prefers to eat early. As for the clothes all picked out, my two girls ages 8 and 12 of their dinner attire all layed out and read to be packed! Just 20 more days!

I was wondering if there was a post like this for 6/14 cruisers...This is my first cruise. It's a family reunion and we'll be celebrating my husband's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. So along with myself, DH and DS (9 months) there will be 9 other families, i didn't attempt to do a head count, but i do know a quarter of deck 8 will be filled with a very happy family. :D i didn't sign up for any excursions though. mostly because of the baby. so i think we'll just swing it as far as the islands go. has anyone experienced or heard of the renewal of vows ceremony? is it easy to get good pictures? are there a lot of people who do it? looking forward to the sun and sand!!!! I'm tired of this jersey cold!

We're early seating. Clothes, who needs clothes? :) We take as little as possible. Pack about 1/2 what you think you will need. We're outdoors people so most of the day I hangout in my swimming suit or running shorts and a tank top. Yes, we do take our evening clothes but after dinner I usually change out of those into some shorts and a golf shirt.

Has anyone notice the # of replies to the June 21 sailing? They've got a lively group. Has anyone seen my post above about the OffShore Adventures excursion? We are going to cancel our morning catermeran on St Martin.
