New Pool Entry Requirement? Share Wristband Experiences by Resort!

LOL, it’s been awhile for us too, but I’ve read reports that it can be an issue at times. I just think access to that slide deserves restriction just like access to SAB does, as well as all the resort pools.
I don't own at BWV and don't have a dog in the fight, but I can see why you wouldn't want more dues for additional employees IF you don't have large crowds to begin with...I was mostly curious if stronger enforcement at the MK resorts will drive influencers to start directing people to BW or the other resorts.

Overcrowded facilities really takes away from the luxury feel of a resort, I love that I can grab a chair at RIV pool anytime and not feel like people are circling like sharks to take it from me if I go for a dip.

More pool enforcement at the big theme pools would go a long way, sometimes its not the pool but the lounge chairs that are the scarce resource.

And it seems like the way they do it at RIV could be fairly easily replicated - have to scan wristband or key card to get into the pool. I've also noticed that even the pool bathrooms have scanners that could be used if needed (in practice, every time I've gone to them, you don't need to scan in, they are just unlocked). If things get really busy, have a CM standing at the gates to make sure people scan in before entering the pool area.

I think those are also the restrooms for Bar Riva and other public areas near the pools.
Yes, you're right. There are also another set of bathrooms next to the gym that similarly have the scanner but it wasn't operating either. I also noticed the bathrooms at PIT next to Wailulu Grill have scanners - when I was there before our tour, I needed to use the restroom, and at first, I thought I wouldn't be able to get in, but then remembered the bathrooms at RIV weren't locked either. It made me wonder whether those are there should they need to crackdown on non-resort guests overcrowding resorts.

I dislike locked bathrooms , Virgin Voyages was horrible with this, it was like the lotto if the public bathrooms were open. It was a big ship to keep having to go back to your room.

Yeah, I hear you. You don’t want the place feeling like Ft. Knox, but if it were just the outdoor accessible bathrooms, I don’t think that would be too big of a deal. Still, better if they don’t have to resort to that.

I don't know what the law is in Florida, but in a lot of places you can't have locked gates around pools (when they are occupied) because it would hinder access by EMTs in the event of an emergency. That's why wristbands are usually used.

Out of all the slides I have done so far, its the worst.

I'm a big ole hater of that whole pool though.

I'd put the SAB slide just above it though, so I am probably a minority on these views lol
Why do you hate the pool, ive never been

Whatever they did for the bottom is too rough, it's just very boring area for it, no zero entry is lame, feels like its never been updated from the 90s. I know they changed the facade on the slide from the clown thing, but that seems like all the update has been. There is no kids play area either so its pretty awful for little kids, the kiddie pool is the old school 90s shallow circle pool that's just lukewarm water.

Pool doesn't have to be anything special for my family to like it, we hung out at the Oasis pool at poly quite a bit and its just an oval, but just didn't care for anything about the BW pool.

Just to give a different opinion, my elementary school aged kids really loved the BWV pool and as a parent, I sort of prefer it to BCV because your kids don't have to leave the secure gated area to get on the slide. I think BCV is better for very young and teen and older, but BWV's pool slide has actually worked better for us lately... especially now that they got rid of the hideous clown.

My biggest issue with kids with the bwv pool area is the playground being in the center of the sun. I feel like it’s dangerous how hot the equipment gets when we’ve been (June). I feel they need to fix that with some splash elements or shade to at least make it usable/not a hazard. If not I’d prefer they tare the whole thing down so I don’t have to argue with my kids about how it’s too hot for them to use it every trip lol.

Agree with both of these takes 100%!
