Calling all 6/14 Eastern Cruisers

Hey ya'll!!! I'm just about beside myself with excitement!!! I can't keep thinking about what we'll be doing four weeks from now!!! Where will we be? What will we be eating? etc.....

We've got late seating for dinner. Us and my sister's family. Heck no we're not packed. We'll be on the 7 day cruise and then to DW for four days - cannot begin to imagine trying to cram it all in suit cases.

Have any of you guys rented a tux onboard? Do we need to send the measurements ahead of time and if so where to?

My sister made our excursion plans - don't even remember what we're doing - don't even care - plan on having a blast no matter what we do !!! I'm sure ya'll will figure out who we are when ya'll see us! We'll be the crazy ones from Arkansas - gonna be like the Clampits arriving in Beverly Hills!!!

We had late seating but have changed it to early seating (and hoping for no surprises when we get there). The baby just wouldn't be able to handle late seating as she is normally in bed no later than 9:00 p.m.

I have just started buying a few things for the trip, so I'm getting REALLY excited. DD graduates kindegarten on Tuesday and we are going to tell her we are going on a cruise, but not mention that it's a Disney Cruise. She has been on one other cruise and when she saw the Disney ship, the said "I want to go on THAT one". Needless to say, I think she will be doubly excited when she finds out that this time we will be on the Disney ship.

Hope to see everyone on board!

We just booked four days at CSR. Family is so excited about both.

The website is www.cruiselineformal.com. There is a form on the web site for getting measurements. I think they need two weeks notice. I did some research on the site, then tried on my tux from about 15 years ago. I couldn't believe I could still get into it.

lrmillen-
but i do know a quarter of deck 8 will be filled with a very happy family.
We'll be in the midst of you on Deck 8

Anyone else up for a quick "meet and greet"?
We would be up for a 'meet and greet'. Any one else? And any suggestions for time and place? We have DD7 and DD5. They would love to meet your DD6.

For the "meet and greet"...we found that the first day is very hectic with getting settled and the Sail-A-Way Party..many on our last trip couldn't make it to the meeting at that time..maybe some time on our first day at Sea??? Don't forget your green ribbons! Jodi

Meet and Greet:

Can someone suggest a time and place for this to take place? I will start a new thread when we come up with something and send a message to those on this thread to check it out.

So let's talk when and where???

Would anyone be up for meeting in the terminal around 11 or 11:30? We could meet by the sofas at the far end, facing the ship. Usually by then, we're checked-in and in line. Can't wait... we've started our packing list. We're staying 11 days at OKW after the cruise. We're waitlisted at BWV and BCV, hoping that comes through but chances are slim. Not too concerned about it, we're truely blessed to be able to take these vacations :) .

--Can't wait.

Terminal sounds good to me as we like to get there bright and early...plan on getting there around 10:30...by then the excitement is just too much and we just want to get there!!! Jodi

At the terminal sounds good to us as well. We are going to try to take an early shuttle from the Radisson.

Jodi, we also like to get there early. When we got to the terminal last year, our son went right to the line. Of course we had to go get him for check-in. He thought being first was pretty cool... until he figured out the cat 1 - 3s get to board first :).

You're on deck 8? What cat? We're on deck 5, cat 11... but it's one of the rooms that run the length of the ship, same size as cat 10 w/0ut the split bath.

DoggieRunner...we are on deck 6, room 6606 w/verandah..Can't believe it is only 2 weeks away!

the gales: We will be at the Radisson also.. maybe we will see you at the pool! We land around 12:30 and plan on spending the day swimming! I'll wear a green ribbon!! Jodi

Unfortunately, my plans were to get to the port really early on Saturday, but I don't think we are going to be able to.

We arrive in Melbourne Saturday a.m. around 9:30ish, but the shuttle we are taking is going to wait for the next flight to get in, so we won't leave the airport until around 11:00 a.m. at the earliest, probably a little later.

How about a second chance later on. How about after breakfast on that first day at sea? (10-ish) Any other ideas or preferences if that is too early or late? Hopefully we can leave the airport early ... that was the whole point in taking that early morning flight!

I'm getting more excited by the day!

Yeah!~

We will be staying at the Radisson on the 13th! So we'll be able to get to the port early and relax a little on Friday. I don't think we'll be able to be there until around 6:30 p.m. due to DH's work schedule, but he's trying to get off that day so we can go down early and spend some time there.

I'll post the meet and greet in another thread.

If you've cruised before, what are your favorite things to do (and eat)? If you haven't cruised, what are you looking forward to the most?

For me:

1. Running early in the morning around deck 4.
2. Looking into the deep, blue, clear water and soaking up some sun.
3. Swimming and playing ping pong with my kids.
4. Spending quality time w/ my wife (maybe I should put this first?).
5. Eating
6. Eating.
7. Eating.
8. Thinking about eating. :)
9. Meeting folks
10. Going to bed absolutely exhausted, knowing I get to do it all over again tomorrow!! (except for the last day)

Does anyone run?

Do you're kids enjoy the clubs?

Although I'm not on your cruise, I am living the excitement again with you as I read this. We just returned from Magic Eastern, 5-17 through 5-24. It was our first cruise of any kind and it was heaven. My husband celebrated his birthday on formal night and they brought a whole cake!!! Loved our servers, Prageeth and Sanjeev, and head server, John Cunningham from Scotland. We were with a large party for a wedding and they all made things so nice for the couple and the guests.

You all will have a blast. I have Navigators if you have questions.

On St. Maarten we took the tour that included the Butterfly Farm. Air conditioned bus, driver talked all about the island and areas we drove through. We had about 30 min. for some sidewalk shopping (I bought island rhythm instruments as I teach music.) Then about 45 minutes at the Butterfly farm. Only one bus at a time is there, so it wasn't crowded. We got some good pictures. ( A few of my pictures are on the cruise report site.)

When we got back to town about noon it was really hot. My daughter, SIL, and 3 yr. old went back to ship to swim and rest. DH and I had the driver drop us at the Town pier, where we watched locals pull in a boat load of fish in nets. A nice shady park type area with sidewalk restaurant. We wanted to save store shopping till St. Thomas.

On St. Thomas we took St. John Island Excursion, ferry to St. John and then safari bus all around the Natl. park area. Very nice. We are not looking for beach time, but some on our Ferry did the St. John Trunk Bay trip and had a great time snorkeling. Back at St. Thomas, we shopped in a rain shower and then went back to ship about 2 - 3 p.m. DD & family took the tram to top of a mtn. in St. Thomas.

Before you go to islands, you might want to listen to the shopping seminar. Got some ideas and coupons there.
